    Default DeAndre Jordan

I know the Clippers will probably match any offer given to DeAndre, but shouldn't we be going after him too. He would be my first choice in PF's that are available.
The worst that could happen by offering him a big deal and having the Clippers match is that they might have to choice between Gordon and Griffin for the long term. Then we would have a better chance a Gordon next summer.

Yes that is exactly right. We should offer him a large contract and if he accepts he will be that bruising PF that we wanted who will block shots and rebound. If Clippers match, then it will make it that much harder for them to resign Gordon.

Jordan is not a PF, and the Clippers have plenty of money for both he and Gordon with Kaman's deal coming off the books next year.

I know they have a lot of cap space this year and next year, but Griffin will require a max deal in a couple of years, will Sterling want to pay 3 guys huge almost max deal contracts?

Sterling has to pay someone under the new CBA, so yes. He's going to spend that money on talent.

And Deandre Jordan won't get anything resembling a max contract. Gordon won't, either.

The Clippers next season will be a minimum $35 million under the cap, minus Jordan and Gordon. Even if they re-sign those guys they are still way under.

    Uh, what?

Eric Gordon is strong defensively and averages 22-5-3 while doing so. I'm not sure what league that isn't going to get him the max, because it sure will in the NBA.

He's good, and will get paid accordingly, but he's not going to get a max offer.

I suppose the max upgrade on a rookie contract, assuming he doesn't win any performance bonuses, is possible.

I would pay about the same for Gasol or Jordan. I actually like Jordan better.

That's probably what he's going to get. $10-11 million over 3-4 years is fair.

If we score DJ and EJ for good contracts, maybe Blake will just come over by default after his contract ends. We could just transplant-trade half our respective starters, and call it a day.

(I wish I didn't have to green that.)

That was my first thought. Max for him will be 14-something. If I am Gordon, that's what I expect and I don't expect much negotiations about it either. I would be insulted otherwise.

He rebounds well and would fit in perfectlly with our smash mouth game. I also think he could play more PF than Gasol could.

His defensive instincts don't travel past 3 feet of the rim. He'd be an awful starting PF on both ends.

DeAndre Jordan is not worth big money. Eric Gordon is not either. When he proves he can play a whole season I'll re-consider.

Jordan is only on the court as much because Kaman is injured. He is still raw and may never be more than what people falsely think he already is.

Maybe we should bring in David Harrison for the PF position.

Where is Harrison now? I know it won't happen, but to be quite honest, I wouldn't be upset if he was given the opportunity to be Hibbert's B/U. Sign him to a 1 year deal like Charlotte did Kwame Brown, and give it a shot. It worked out quite well for Charlotte. Just put in his contract he can't frat with Rush!!!

So you want to pay EJ more money than Danny, Aldridge, Steve Nash, Westbrook and Rose? what? ...............

He deserves to be, unlike Nene, or any free agent this year. He would be by far the best FA this summer.

He is with team "Tianjin Ronggang" in China.

In 49 states it's just basketball, but this is Indiana!

DeAndre Jordan can maybe take another step forward this season. That would be huge for the Clippers.

I think Jordan can defend PFs who play deeper than 18ft, traditional 4s, as well as he does centers, just not more perimeter oriented ones. Of course, the biggest problem is that he isn't that good defending centers anyway.

How would he rate in terms of defense at the 5, even including his help defense? Top-20? Top-30? I doubt top-20, quite possibly top-30. Easily below average. Then again, he's showed steady and notorious improvement and he may very well keep going.

Man...I'll be so excited when Gordon resigns with the Clippers, and we no longer have to spend countless hours trying to devise trades/plans to get him to Indiana.

The Gordon trade talks is starting to be commonplace as "Indiana is a bunch of thugs" comments....

Normally we'd have to overpay a guy to get him to come here, but on top of that we have a fan base here that way over-values the guy. That's a bad combination. Not that I wouldn't like to have him here, but is he really worth all this obsession just because he's familiar?

As far as shooting guards go, he's the best player I can see potentially signing with the Pacers. Just in the sense that there's a possibility he could. Dwyane Wade, Monta Ellis, Joe Johnson, even Jamal Crawford all may have no interest in coming to Indiana, but even the rumor that EJ could sign here due to "inside connections", love of hometown, or whatever, renders him the best available player who could actually sign here.

Also, in this article, which I believe we've seen posted here before, EJ was voted 4/5 to be the most promising shooting guard (the remaining vote to Paul George); he's still young, he's still got a ton of potential, and if it's true that he wants to be in Indy, then why deny him the opportunity to do so, for any amount of money (under $15m)?

So he is going to make more than Danny? 22ppg and 5apg and he is going to make more than Nash?
