is the NBA office closed today? Shouldn't these trade proposals be getting ok'd with the short preseason?

They already have like 5 guards, they must be trading someone...Mayo?

Except it would restrict our ability for better "these kinds of deals" over the next few weeks. If this were something done in January, I could see Larry being involved. Otherwise? No.

How can a 1 mil deal retrict better deals over the next few weeks? The Pacers took on Edwards 1 mil dollar contract to do the Harrington deals only to then waive/cut him. Not to mention cutting James White right after giving him a 2 year guaranteed contract.

Memphis will be better than Indy next season. And they just moved from Vancouver to Memphis a few years ago! LMAO! PATHETIC!

Because that 1 mil deal counts 4360000 against the cap. Come on now.

    No ****.

Think about it though, we probably still think that we're in it for Nene. That's 15 mil or so right there. New York had to unload Turiaf quicker than we could commit to something like that.

Not everything is gonna be done this week. Hell, cap space is probably going to be a bigger deal early in the season than it is right now.

If they need more cap, they amnesty Posey.

the 2 picks were worth it and we get a good rotation player at a discount (only paying 1m of his 4.3m deal) and two picks that was a no brainier and a very smart move by the Wizards. Just wish we would of done it.

(buying 2 picks at draft time is a lot more expensive than 1m dollars) plus you dont get the player.

this would of been a really smart move by Larry.

it's an empty threat. Bilups is not going to give up $14 million on principle. His agent is trying to bully him into free agency, and I hope somebody calls his bluff.

Any team that bids on him has NOTHING to lose by doing so. If he retires, you owe him zilch.

The Clippers would be a great fit for him, especially with Bledsoe out.

    What's wrong with Bledsoe?

    Pistons interested in trading Monroe?

Man, things haven't even started to heat up yet. That Chris Paul and Dwight Howard stuff pretty much froze the market.

They bring in Dleague players into camp every year. This year isn't going to be any different.

Hasn't the prize for us been the possibility of Paul Millsap all along?

You'd think the league office would be open every day this month to help compensate for the condensed timeframe GMs are dealing with to get moves made.

Peter Stringer: The Boston Celtics announced today that they have re-signed forward Jeff Green. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. now
Curious to see what he got. The potential for an overpay is there, certainly.

    EDIT: 1 year, 9 mil.

Chris Broussard: Jeff Green signed 1-year deal worth $9 million with Celtics, source said. He did not sign the mere qualifying offer. about 8 minutes ago

My gut tells me that we're going to be happy with the final outcome of the free agent period. There's not a deal I've heard (outside of the Battier -> Heat deal) that I felt envious of. There's a lot of beer goggling going on, and when these teams wake up, they're going to regret a lot of these moves.

Hoping for a McRoberts S&T for Mayo. It'd be an appealing option for them since they wouldn't be adding any salary and would retain their exceptions.

The Pacers giving Cap would be best for them, so they have plenty to re-sign Gasol.

I'd be fine with that, just thought they'd like something back for him. I wouldn't give up a 1st though.

McCalebb can only be signed next off-season, but he should already be in the NBA.

Great deal for Boston. I didn't believe it was possible to sign him to a 1 year deal. Preserves the cap next off-season and the ability to trade him this one.
