I dont think thats a dream at all. In fact I think we wouldnt have to throw in a 1st round. Maybe Hibbert, Rush and expiring posey for Josh Smith
I doubt it, I think Hibbert and the 1st would get it done, thinking about the cost of each player and the advantage of having Hibbert play the 5 and moving horford to the 4 would probably be enough I think, combined with the fact that they want to move Josh, and he wants to be moved.
    Why so SERIOUS

    Now if he want's a contract starting a 17mil I wouldn't sign him, but if he want's a contract starting a 14mil I make that deal.
So where is your cut off line? 15mil? 16mil?

If the contract starts at 13 like it has been reported the cut off line should be like 16 I think, maybe like 4years and 60/65? or they do it the other way around(like Hinrich) and start with 17 and go down from there? the offer would have to be big enough for him not to re-sign with Denver for 5 years.

I completely agree with Cordobes' assessment earlier. He scores in ways that make him a complimentary player, rather than a focal player.

He should be paid as such.
So do you think he was overpaid last year?

Damn if they get Gasol that means they'll be looking to move Hibbert.
    I know; that's what I don't like about it.

I could definitely get behind going after Gasol, and if we managed to get him, trade Hibbert + 1st (protected) for Smith.

    That would be awesome.

Having said that. How would you guys rank Hibbert vs Gasol?
Gasol is better than Roy, but I expect Roy to come in this year in the best shape he's been in and become a noticeably better and/or more consistent player in his own right, which would significantly narrow the gap.

I really want to see what Roy offers this season before moving on from him.

As for Josh Smith, I'm personally not very high on him, but I acknowledge the talent.

I don't think that really matters either way. I don't care if another team wants to overpay him this year. I care if the Pacers overpay him.

The Pacers, a team that has struggled financially since the very beginning of the franchise, should over pay the first player they can after such a long and drawn out fight over the CBA that was trying to help teams, like the Pacers.

I think it's a complete waste of time to have a lockout like the one that just happened, to snub your nose at the purpose if it at the very first opportunity.

Hibber : better low post game , better passing

Gasol: better rebounder, better D, more mobile, tougher mentality
More mobile? It's like two statues come to life out there.

Hey folks. Do me a favor.... stop responding to other's posts with indefinite pronouns.... he and him.

We are talking about several different players in this thread. Do this old man a favor and always reference the player's name at least once in your response.

    Pretty please?

I'm totally fine with us getting Crawford if he doesn't insist on starting every game.

Okay. But do you think he was overpaid or not? I'm just curious to know where you stand on that.

I have no clue what the going rate for a Jamaal Crawford would be. I believe he was overvaluing himself pre lockout, though.

He's completely comfortable taking crunch time shots, though, and that is a need.

As for not starting, I agree, cuz I think he's more valuable off the bench. However, I would have no problem starting him at two and letting Paul George back up the 2/3 until he's ready.

Crawford and Dunleavy are polar opposites on offense. Not that one is good and one is bad. But Mike is a facilitator, while Crawford is a scorer.

Best attribute about Jamaal is his creatability and ability to score late in games when there appears to be nothing positive happening.

Yes, but I consider Gasol a young enough guy worth giving up some of that flexibility for. I didn't say, let's not make any moves. I just said, let's not spend 14 million dollars on Nene.

I guess Memphis could have been hoping that no one would offer Gasol based on the idea that Memphis would definitely match? And by offering him a large deal we could be taking them outside their comfort zone to pay him.

Like I said in the other thread it would have to be a max offer at least, remember that they can offer less but for five years.

To me, Marc Gasol for $15M is a much better value for the Pacers than it is for the Grizzlies. If they matched that deal, they are pretty much capped out with Gay/Gasol/Randolph/Conley, with OJ Mayo's upcoming free agency looming. They'd basically have to let him go for nothing and still face serious cap issues.

Yeah, but what if they were expecting to really be able to low ball him? 10mill/yr or something like that.
