This whole thing's a lie. Peyton's a cyborg and went in for a firmware update.

Well duh. How else would he have a laser rocket arm.

This looks like great news! Very encouraging! Hopefully he'll be taking the first snap next season.

I still want Andrew Luck though. If Peyton does come back the clock is ticking on his career. Will be interesting to see how the Colts handle all of this.

If they are highly confident the recovery will be successful, I'm all for trading #1 for a needed infusion of talent in multiple areas.

Yes its progress and given what else is going on with the Colts this is probably the best news this team has had in a while(well besides Coyer being fired)

The issue here would probably be his nerve regeneration and well his timetable.

The draft is in April which is 4-5 months away the Colts still have a big decision to make regardless.

It's all about the nerve regeneration/recovery. There never was any doubt that the fusion would happen. But I wouldn't think the actual process of the fusion mending should make any difference whatsover to the nerve regeneration process. That should've began the moment the surgery was completed and the bone spur or whatever was irritating the nerve removed.

IOW... Knowing the fusion itself has taken hold is informative... but is isn't the gorilla in the living room. That would be knowing the rate and amount of improvement Peyton is seeing in the symptoms of the nerve issue, or if he's seen any improvement at all.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

What was pinching the nerve was removed at surgery but things like inflamation and stability of the neck also will help or hinder the process. THe main advantage is that it gives him the medical OK to ramp up his PT which bodes well for the Colts to make a call on his contract.

Peyton spoke to the media today. Sounds like he was upbeat.

    The best part..

“Throwing will be a part of this next progression,” Manning said. “That is somewhat critical to my job. I will be throwing and have been doing some throwing. We have to ramp that up a little bit and answer some more questions about where we are.”

If Peyton is going to be healthy for another 5 years, I would agree. If he comes back and is re-injured, I suppose we will at least have more talent on the team. Maybe we could draft another QB just in case...or call up Kerry Collins...

Even if he comes back though, he will have an inch of rust on him. It's not worth returning this year regardless.

We need a better FO before that could happen.

I don't trust the Polians to infuse talent they're the reason why this team is in the mess its in to begin with.
