INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 30, 2011) – More than 7,000 tickets priced at $10 or less will go on sale, Friday, Dec. 2, at noon for a one-of-a-kind promotion as the Indiana Pacers open the 2011-12 National Basketball Association season: Mystery Matchup on Opening Night.
As the NBA and players finalize details of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, fans will be able to purchase tickets for Opening Night prior to the official release of the anticipated 66-game schedule. The date and opponent for Opening Night will be announced soon.
Ticket prices for Opening Night presented by Indiana University Health and Kroger start at $5 in the Balcony Level, $15 in the Krieg DeVault Club Level and $40 in the Lower Level. They will be available online at Pacers.com.
Ticket inventory for this promotion is limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Online fees have been eliminated for Balcony Level tickets and reduced for all other locations. Ticket prices for Season-Ticket holders will be reset automatically to the Mystery Matchup price and Season-Ticket holders will have access to an exclusive online presale starting at noon, Thursday, Dec. 1. Once all other home games go on sale, tickets for Opening Night will return to normal individual game prices.
“Opening Night is always special in sports, no matter the opponent or day of week,” said Larry Bird, President of Basketball Operations. “Although we don’t know our exact opponent or the date of the game, this is a great way for our fans to come see a team that we feel very good about.”
“Mystery Matchup on Opening Night was created to appeal to a wide range of Pacers fans and we want to be certain our Season Ticket Holders were at the top of the list for this unique promotion,” said Jim Morris, President at Pacers Sports & Entertainment.
Fans in attendance for Opening Night will experience the Blue and Gold carpet treatment as the Pacers will host a traditional pregame party featuring live music, fan interactives, and great prizes.
