Default Last 10 games -- Pacer shooting pcts

Here are some numbers I added up for the past 10 games:

Freddie Jones 20-38 53%
Reggie Miller 39-75 52%
Al Harrington 56-112 50%
Jeff Foster 18-37 49%
Scott Pollard 8-17 47%
Jermaine O'Neal 67-153 44%
Jamal Tinsley 25-60 42%
Austin Croshere 14-34 41%
Anthony Johnson 22-60 37%
Ron Artest 62-170 36%

Two observations: 1) Freddie "Can't shoot" Jones is at the top of the list, and 2) Ron Artest has the worst percentage and the most attempts.

These don't really mean anything to me until they're combined with a shot chart. We all knew that Dale Davis couldn't shoot, but he always led the team in FG% because he could hit just over half of his layups and dunks. *BANG* Jay ducks while Peck begins shooting.

The first four games after the thumb injury destroyed Artest's % - he's back on track since then.

Back on track? As evidenced by his 4-20 performance yesterday?

Good answer Jay.

Far be it from me to ever defend Artest
But he has been injured, I know, so he should not shoot as much, but he makes things happen, he creates things, draws fouls, if you ask Rinnie to be les aggressive, you might as well sit him on the bench

Look at his free throws attempted and made

Wasn't he 12-13 from the FT line yesterday? That's good shooting.

There are lies, d@m#ed lies, and statistics. You're going to have a hard time convincing me that Fred, Jeff, Scot, etc. are better shooters than AJ and Ron.

that's fine. I didn't say he couldn't make shots. What I'm saying is that he ISN'T making his field goal attempts.

My point is about shot selection, not whether someone can stand at the line and make free throws.

Shot selection is probably why Freddie's numbers are UP, and they are also why Artest's numbers are down.

Then why didn't you say that the first time?

Yes, I'm definitely glad that Fred, Jeff, and Scot aren't taking very many perimeter shots. Ron's been hurt. He only took one three-point attempt yesterday, so I wish he'd shoot a little less but if he's not going to shoot at all then he becomes a liability in spite of his excellent defense.

I've heard that 87% of what Jay posts is due entirely to the influence of alcohol.

You know, Fred HAS been making perimeter jumpers lately. It really has improved, though it still isn't as good as it will be.

I have never been impressed with Artest's shot selection, but I willl say that it has gotten has better this year.

Maybe that list should be grouped into positions.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.
