Default 2012 HOF Nominees announced (LOTS of Pacer ties)

Mark Jackson and Donnie Walsh join Reggie on the NBA side, and we have Big George, Mel, and SLICK nominated on the ABA committee!

I'd like to see Tom Jernstedt make it in addition to at least a few of our guys. Hopefully, this is the year for Slick to finally make it.

Reggie is in, unless they take no NBA player at all. He's the highest profile guy on the list.

The only way the Hall gets in my good graces is if they make this a Pacers class and be done with it. I'll even be magnamous and let them include a bunch of Warrors, too. But less then 3 Pacers and it's a traveshamockery, less than 2 and we should just burn the damn place down. And, god forbid, if freaking Dick Bavetta or Jerry Krause makes the Hall and no Pacers do, I really think I'll go on a killing spree.

Only one ABA nominee will make it this year. It needs to be Slick.

I've got my money on the ABA entry being Louis Dampier. The others will be Divac, Hardaway, Lobo, Valvano, and another international player the article didn't list.

The fact that someone like Bavetta could make the Hall taints it greatly in my eyes.

He's just like Reggie - responsible for a lot of great moments with the Knicks...

If one Pacer gets in it should be Slick.

Reggie and Slick should get in together. That would be incredibly fitting.

Finalists get announced tomorrow at noon on NBATV if my DirecTv program guide is right...

Reggie, McGinnis, Daniels, and Slick should be shoe-ins... Walsh is Hall worthy as well in my opinion. But at no point did I ever watch Jackson and think Hall of Fame. Plus it'd just be wrong if Mark got in the same time as Reggie.

Mark Jackson is one of my favorite Pacers of all time, but he's not HOF material.

I would rank the other Pacers as follows:
    Reggie
    Slick
    Daniels
    McGinnis

Edit: ...and I would rank Donnie somewhere in the middle or lower. He deserves a downgrade after acquiring so many head cases.

Sadly they can only pick one player/coach from the ABA per year, so somebody is getting snubbed.

I have to be honest here and this is coming from a guy who has reggie tatted on his leg Slick before Reggie. Just my opinion.

Louie was a nice shooter but never an MVP and he was never better than the 3rd best player on his own team, behind Dan Issel and Artis Gilmore.
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)
