    Default Colts/Saints Game/Postgame

    The bad defensive play continues...

We run a screen on their blitz with three blockers out front and get 7 yards. They do the same thing and get 50+ and a near TD. That pretty much sums it up. It's just comical how bad we are.

Switching over to Boardwalk Empire and from there will be able to tell if it is worth staying up late to watch this...who am I kidding, I am a glutton for punishment.

Hey did anyone confront Dungy about saying the Colts should trade Manning if they get Luck?

Surprised it wasn't a bigger story.

Regardless I think the team has quit on Caldwell.

    It was inevitable.

Looks like Payton can pull the starters by halftime.

Here's my issue. Okay Manning's hurt. But, we have low quality and zero depth running rampant. I mean the DBs, the DTs, the Oline. It's pretty amazing how bad and shallow we are everywhere but skill positions. I point the finger at management for that.

You know I just realized the Pats may end up scoring 60+ on us (our next SNF game)

This is the only hope of Caldwell being gone by years end.

The players look disinterested. In a major way.

Get rid of the ball already, Painter.

Jim? Jim? Oh God Caldwell's been dead for the past 7 weeks and they've just been rolling him onto the sidelines...

Would anyone really be surprised to find out this was the case?

Nah! Polian won't notice and Dungy will say something like Caldwell has this team prepared

    *snicker*

I feel bad for these players though I know I shouldn't since they're being paid millions regardless but they have to wonder if they really were part of the "One Man Show" that maybe they weren't as elite as they believed or we believed for that matter.

Defense looks as awful as it always has, just with even worse DBs (if that's even conceivable). Nobody elite there. Freeny and Mathis are elite pass rushers, but they are totally one dimensional.

Hard for elite pass rushers to be useful when the defensive backs can't cover anyone.

Fastest post game thread ever. Can't stop Brees and can't stop Sproles.
Not even close and the Colts midget DBs against every teams physical receivers.

We need more games like this to prove that the defensive philosophy does not work. I hope New Orleans gets to 70.

Boy, for a team that is tired of the disrespect of being continually labeled a one man show, the Colts look an awful lot like a one man show...

New Orleans is just stepping on the Colts throat here. You can tell that someone has made a decision to expose this fraud once and for all.

In the long run, they may be doing us a favor if Irsay can smart up.

Either that or to get back at the Colts for dropping 55 points on them the last time they were at the Superdome.

I don't even hate the Saints for this they're doing their jobs

    The Colts aren't.

It will get better though we'll play New England on SNF in December.

    They could try for 80+

Belichick can go for as many 4th and 2's as he pleases and there's no Manning to make him pay

I don't think it is a matter of payback for the Saints, they beat us in the Super Bowl and that 55 point game was what, 4 years ago maybe? I would imagine their roster turnover has been pretty significant.

I think this is just the case of a supremely talented team beating a team that is well, not very good. This is like DePauw playing Alabama.

If the Colts want to keep up their community relations in this tough time, they may as well start offering high school teams the opportunity to be the Colts defense for a week. The results couldn't get too much worse.

I don't either but I'm sure they use whatever edge they can get to rev them up. You can tell the difference in coaching right away ...

And that game was back in 2003 a Sunday Night game as well.
