Thread: Chiefs @ Colts Game/Post-Game

As far as I'm concerned, Peyton can do whatever he wants. He plays and this team is 4-1, maybe even 5-0. He says close the roof? Do it.

Nuts how one person means that much in football. Has one player ever been this important to a football team winning?

What's hilarious is we'd still probably send multiple pro bowlers on defense if the season ended right now, Freeney and Angerer would be locks, and Mathis would probably get the call. How silly is that? That just emphasizes how terrible the rest of the people on the field are right now.

Other than the three you mentioned and Bethea, I don't think one of these guys would start on another NFL team.

Nevis is a legitimate DT when he's healthy. I really like him. I think Powers could start for a few teams, but he's really regressed this year and I think the way they play defense isn't really to his strengths.

I want to believe that Peyton Manning is this great. But Polian just did a sh*tty job of putting together a team around him.

Brady misses a season and the Pats still manage a winning record.

To be far, this is almost the exact same team as last year with better rookies. Remember, Manning didn't even have clark or Collie for a lot of last season. Dude just makes this team go.

He had a cramp and I think Polian had to be restrained from putting him on IR.

The only difference I see is Peyton generally reads the coverage and finds plays that will work against it and we execute so we score points. The defense generally always looks like it can be scored against at will. Yes, you have to be somewhat patient and run a lot... but then it's not like the Colts can stop the run.... unless they totally sellout to try and do it. Then you can pick on the secondary.

Just use quick throws or delayed handoffs to make Freeney and Mathis non-factors.

It's a joke to hear the defense is built to play with a lead. The defense is built to play against a panicked, undisciplined team that is trying to get big chunks of yardage thru the air. But the book has long been written: Don't panic against the Colts. Run, Forest run. Keep the passing game conservative. Don't turnover the ball.

We make 3rd string backs look like Walter Payton and we make 1st string backs look like OJ Simpson running thru the defense with his knife.

Colts President Bill Polian on the postgame radio show:
"I'm baffled. Truthfully, it's hard to envision with the kind of people we have upfront that we can be this porous in the secondary. It's a dilemma honestly."

They still don't suck enough for Luck, I'm sorry.

Miami is on that campaign. Could've gotten a quality starter at QB, but instead they will go with Matt Moore and signed a crappy backup in Sage Rosenfels.

As far as this game, I was actually surprised to see Kansas come back. Indy seemed to have had it going in the beginning. Painter didn't look terrible.

David Garrard is better than ****ing Sage Rosenfels and is decent.

They are completely terrible and they know it and accepted it.

Curtis Painter is pumped and isn't a terrible QB. He looked decent today.

He's better than Matt Moore. Compared to last season in Carolina which is nearly identical to this Miami Dolphins team.

Also, I gotta say, and I don't think this happens as much in sports as a lot of people do, but I think we're tanking. In fact, I'm almost sure of it at this point. Our offensive guys might be trying to win games, but the play calling defensively is designed for us to give up touchdowns at key points.

I really do think we are tanking, and I think Caldwell has signed on with full agreement because its the best way to keep his job. Toe that company line *******!

Seriously, I'm about done with this franchise til they change the front office. IMO this is worse than anything the Pacers ever put us through. This is a blatant disregard for some of the talents on this team and the windows they have left on their career. It's almost insulting.
The Pacers FO put us through Ron Artest.

The Colts FO has gotten us a Super Bowl title. (I'm not even trying to defend them at all, I want Caldwell, and that staff gone THIS WEEK) But as much as we can **** and moan about the Colts FO, at least they got us a Super Bowl and yes, we should have more, but 1 is better than 0.

    Did I mention fire Caldwell?

Hmm, look at the Colts schedule. This was by far the most winnable game. I guess The Bengals next week and then Jacksonville are also winnable, but you gotta guess we'll split with the Jags at most. I also doubt we beat the Bengals next week.

That leaves them with 1 win, 2 wins at most. Dolphins at least have a decent defense.

If you're going to fire Caldwell and Co you need to fire that shitbag Polian and his spawn too.

Firing Caldwell won't solve the problem getting rid of Polian along with him would help.

I guess for me the Colts right now are worse than the Pacers. I never had nearly as high expectations and there's the Manning factor.

Its a shame that he's won one ring and it could've been so much more and they didn't even care to put the effort to actually want to be the best.

Any one think Painter could turn out to be a decent QB some day?

I think he could make Manning expendable.

Might be the biggest Purdue homer thing I have ever heard if you are being serious.

The Pacers front office took a chance on Ron Artest. Just as the Colt sfront office took a chance on Bob Sanders. Yes, one panned out and the other didn't, but if Bob wasn't healthy for those 4 playoff games we wouldn't have had that championship to look back on. That's a pretty big roll of the dice.

He's got long, flowing hair like Brady; I'm not sure what other evidence you need to know that he will be a legend.

This is nuts. You can't compare a bad start to convincing most of your fanbase that your team is full of criminals.
