Would be nice to think both NBA union and owners at least reached agreement on Amar'e's use of apostrophes.

Once again, Stern's quote from yesterday: "if it's a very short meeting, that's bad. And if it's a very long meeting, that's not as bad."

We have reached the 2-hour mark at NBA lockout central, which I would say qualifies this as not a short meeting. Not long yet, but not short

I'm not putting much into Amar'e's take. Baron Davis' update on Saturday was that things were going well, then officials came out and said very little progress was made.

Well considering half of us were thinking that things were going to go horribly wrong by now.... it technically is progress.

I just have to say that I've been coming here to get my lockout news and updates during the meetings. So kudos to those of you who post the tweets and thank you very much.

This isn't lockout related, I just wanted to say it.

The players have played their cards very well today. This is exactly how to turn the tide against the ownership. They come across as compromising and conciliatory and wanting to come to the table in earnest.

"They are the employers and we are the employees"

    Perfectly done, IMO.

The problem for players is that the owners can say, "This is how much it takes to run league and this is how much we intend to make as a reasonable profit." All the players can say is, "This is how much we used to make and we don't want to give it up." It's not a strong position to be in, but I think they intend to be oblivious to this point.

We're not going to see pro basketball this year.

50/50 makes sense of course, but neither side wants to get there until the other side concedes something.
