Thread: Andrew Luck Thread

After watching the Fins last night I think we might end up not getting Luck only because they are surprisingly worse than we are now.

Yes it is. Have you watched the Panthers this year? Don't just look at there record. They are a lot better then there record. They have a better team.
Their defense blows. They are better than they were last year, but I don't think they are vastly superior to us.

Neither are the Chiefs, Bengals and Browns but we still lost to them anyways

    The Dolphins are definitely worse.

I feel like the Colts have the game against the Panthers circled as a could/should win.

Now regarding the Colts and Dolphins, the Dolphins clearly have their eyes on the prize in 2012 which is finally landing a guy they can call a franchise QB. Matt Moore is terrible. He was terrible with the Panthers who were similar to this Dolphins team and obviously he's terrible with the Dolphins SO FAR.

Also, there's a reason the team said no to Kyle Orton. Their owner didn't feel he's their franchise QB.

I understand that, but anything can happen in the NFL. We almost beat the Steelers. The better team doesn't always win. Fluke things happen, lucky breaks and bounces happen. That's why it's so hard to go 16-0 or 0-16.

We play you guys week 8, so we'll give you that loss if it makes you feel better.

    You're absolutely correct.

I apologize I was looking at the Falcons weekly schedule not realizing we have a bye during the NFL's official week 8.

No biggie but it figures the season we don't have Manning we have the last bye week of the football season.

Carolina is looking good against the Skins, not sure if I think we will win that one anymore. Steve Smith is putting on a clinic.

And it's no coincidence it's happening in one of the rare years there's a franchise changing player coming out.

Dolphins ownership were probably the biggest Tebow fans in Miami today.

I think the NFL needs to investigate the Dolphins.

I think that owner is offering bonuses for giving away games. Just a hunch.

Yeah I know people like to think that teams are tanking but too many variables are involved for something like this to happen effectively. Plus you could never prove it. There was never this coordinated effort for Manning(or Leaf)

People seem to overlook the lockout and how it affects certain teams add that to injuries and certain matchups its a perfect storm more than anything.

Since Miami utterly failed yesterday against Denver, I think it's time to start watching the strength of schedule tie-breaker. Here's the status through Week 7 (excluding Bal/Jac):

    Colts - Combined Opp. Record = 55-47 (53.92 Win %)
    Rams - Combined Opp. Record = 56-42 (57.14 Win %)
    Dolphins - Combined Opp. Record = 58-42 (58.00 Win %)

The tie-breaker goes to the team with the lowest SOS, so the Colts are in the pole position as of right now.

I don't think the Rams are going to be in the race. They still have two against ARI, two against SEA, and one against CLE. They'll win a couple games.
Considering how much stronger the AFC East is than the AFC South, there's a very good chance we'll win the crucial strength (weakness, actually) of schedule tie breaker with Miami if it comes to that.
