honestly probably the best thing that could happen if we're gonna win this game. Tampa was going to score, get it over with quick and keep time on the clock.

Painter looking like his old self on that last series. Actually had time the last two snaps.

Honestly, it's amazing Pittsburgh's offense couldn't do more than it did against us last week. Although, it was still the same story when they needed points on the last drive. Just rolled us.

Whoever the Colts select as Peyton's replacement should be able to run for the first down like Josh Freeman. I think thats the future of NFL qbs. Not like Michael Vick but guys like Freeman, Big Ben, Cam Newton, Aaron Rogers.

With that 4th quarter offensive line? Probably not. Otherwise, possibly.

30 passes, 18 rushes. Never in a situation where we had to pass to try and make a comeback or anything. Has to be at least 50/50. This offense can't sustain a drive by passing and in almost every game the D's been exhausted by a lopsided time of possession. RUN THE DAMN BALL.

One thing about the Colt defense... when they absolutely have to get a stop... they can't do it.

Not many would when you're consistently on the field twice as long as your offense

If they could consistently make 3rd down stops, let alone not allow teams into 3rd and short (or 2nd and short) they wouldn't be on the field that long.

The Colts' defensive system is a fail and it's a prime reason they are winless for the season and also why they haven't been able to parlay one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game into a much more impressive playoff record.

I was watching this with some friends at a bar and missed a good amount of it. (Can you blame me for drinking while watching this colts team..?)

What happened to Castanzo and Nevis?

I felt bad for the defense tonight having to be out there so much tonight. They did all they could and I really felt they played with heart, our coaches are just downright the worst in the NFL. Nothing the D can do when your coaches continually are calling terrible play after terrible play (See Tampa Bay running the SAME EXACT PLAY 7 straight times before the half and it working every single time... )

Larry Coyer sucks. Jim Caldwell is stupid. The Tampa 2 is *still* a terrible defense. We need a coaching makeover.

Also, just tough luck on the injuries. The Colts just have terrible luck with injuries. All 3 top draft picks went down...Castonzo...Ijalana....and Nevis with back problems. Thoughts are also with Foster on his injury.

Bottom line. This team has a lot of heart and I find that extremely respectable. We just have bad injury luck and a coaching staff that's completely incompetent, therefore rendering the talent that we do have useless, mostly on defense..

Oh, and I never thought I'd say this, but I liked Painter a lot tonight. Did well considering our O-Line had too many injuries and the makeshift line simply couldn't protect him. Definitely better than Collins.

Sigh...well, there's always next year. I still love the heart of this team.

I'll take an ugly win, and it was ugly.

    This was the ugliest: Penalties (Number-Yards) 14 - 106

I am happy Painter did not embarrass himself also.

Here's the thing. If I were the coaches on the Colts, whether they are tanking or not, I would just come out and start insinuating that they are tanking. Not flat out say it, just insinuate, so they don't get fined. Because these guys are either tanking, or they are flat out horrible. They won't get another job in the NFL. Seriously, who will hire Larry Coyer again? Caldwell won't sniff a head coach job after this. They have either been horribly exposed as bad coaches, or they are tanking.

And I'm pretty sure they are just horrible coaches.

I 'm also starting to question the strength and conditioning coaches, trainers and programs, because these injuries are happening way too often. When you're down to two lineman total, both sides of the ball combined, somethings wrong.

Painter played well all things considered. I don't think he's capable of a lot of long sustained TD drives. It's obviously unlike Manning who doesn't have to strike based primarily on a couple big plays.

It's not a criticism of Painter, just part of the reason the D has to be out there so much. That and their own inability to get off the field on 3rd down. The secondary's horrible and the pass rush didn't get much done. That's just an bad combination.

I, too, believe the scheme only hurts, but honestly with that D backfield I don't know that we can stop anybody. Short drop and somebody's inevitably already open. Then tackles are wildly missed. And to think our boy Coyer was touting the depth of our DBs in the preseason. DELUSIONAL.

Typical Painter. Good arm, terrible aim.

I'll still take it over Collins, though.
