Lets start with no reaching in on defense. I can understand 1 or 2 fouls by trying for the steal, but after a while enough is enough.
To I point, I agree. We can't be reaching if it costs us FTs or open shots.

Secondly, we cant do a high post pick and roll every time down the court. We have to mix it up.
Agree again. It should depend on what team we're using. I would really like to be involved less on offense. It bothers me as much as everyone else when I get stuck in no man's land and wind up taking too many shots.

Third, a game plan is fine but you have to play to people strengths. For example Im not a catch and shoot type of player. I much prefer to pump and drive iso type play. Typically, but not always if I get stopped on the way to the basket. Ill look for an open big man.
I'm doing this BECAUSE I want people to play to their strengths. Gameplanning will be made with that in mind.

Fourth, we cant have our point guard no matter who it is taking the majority of the shots. I mean sure if your hitting and shooting 60%+ go right ahead. When you have two big men shooting 90% with a combined shot total of 7 or 8. Thats an issue.
Agree again, though if we draw a team like Chicago or LAC, the point guard is going to be the #1 or #2 option on offense. That's just common sense.

I have no issue with positions being set. Just remember, you cant be PG 9 games in a row then we we get the Heat decide to be a SF.
Agree %100. I made this call with that specific game in mind. Same rules apply to all of us, myself included.

I prefer to be a Forward. More times than not SF, but on occasion PF.
Defensively, you're a PF. I think even you would agree with that. It's always open for discussion, but I had you in mind as one of our starting bigs.

If Murph and Greenway both want to be SF, how can we resolve this when both are playing at the same time? Does one of you like PF more than the other? I assumed Greenway did, but then again I assumed he liked being the 4 more than a 3, so I really don't know. I also agree that when we're Miami, the PG should still play the PG, not the SF.
We will figure out a depth chart of sorts to determine when someone has to move a spot.

The idea of more of a set game plan really concerns me. The REASON for WANTING one makes total sense, but our team is made up of people who all have different points of view when it comes to how to play basketball and how we want to play in 2K. We all have some overlap with each other, which is what makes it somewhat work, but I really fear that the more we try to button this down, the more the differences between us will be highlighted and cause us to start fighting one another and frustrate each other. This is a serious issue waiting to happen.

I'd suggest two broader things here:

    1) We propose more set philosophies rather than more specific strategies.
    2) We establish, player by player, what we feel our best X/O situation is, and work from there in determining a gameplan (such as running isos for Greenway if that's his best move as a wing, where we all go weakside and space while he does his thing)
Really, this is not different than what I'm proposing. Every game depending on who we draw and who we're going up against, we'll figure out what everyone's role will be on offense and defense for that specific game. Now we'll adjust of course as the game goes on, but the basic idea is to give everybody a purpose in contributing to winning, and eliminate the overlap. That's all.

Generally, our overall philosophy will stay the same. It's just everyone's roles in that philosophy are subject to change game-by-game for the overall good of the team.

    Regarding philosophy, I'm thinking:

Offensively, to me that means not forcing jump shots when it's very early or when it's a contested shot, looking a little more at chaining together 2-3 easy passes (usually reversing the ball in the process to the other side of the court) instead of always looking for an assist (I'm as guilty as anyone of doing this).

Defensively, to me that means making priority #1 stopping our man from getting in front of our underneath the hoop (OFF BALL as well as on ball). I'm not a big fan of reaching a lot, leaving my man off ball a lot (though I will in bursts to mix it up or I sense a weak player who will fall for it). It's frustrating to try to keep a big man in position to have to score over me when I have other players cutting uncontested towards the hoop, where a pass will give them a great look from short range if I don't leave my own guy to try to help (and if they know I'm going to do that, they can feed my guy or if they miss my guy has an easy rebound). On the perimeter, my personal preference is to force them one way as much as possible (their weak hand), and if in doubt, give up the jumper rather than the dribble penetration.
To simplify things, I would prefer we just attack as matchups dictate. gambling can be every bit as helpful as good solid position D, but there's a time and a place for both. You don't leave a shooter wide open to get in the passing lane, and you don't leave your teammate on an island with kobe bryant or andrey bynum when you're guarding Devin Ebanks. (just an example not a shot at anybody).

I'd like to have a designated "safety" defender with the freedom to roam a little and cause some havoc, but the situation has to be right. We're not going to allow good shooters to get in rhythm and bury us.

We're all going to have to sacrifice a little here, myself included. That's the only way we're going to go from a good team to a great one.

    We're 36-56 this season.

That said, it's a little misleading because we've been breaking in a lot of new/old blood. We rattled off 12 out of 14 last week once we got our bearings.

I expect us to finish around .500 this season, and next season, be a playoff team.

I honestly don't like set positions. For the most part I think we all stick to the same position, but there are times where switching is beneficial. For instance when we're the pacers I'm Paul George and Kstat is George Hill, but when we're the heat I'm Chalmers and He's James. Sometimes switching is more beneficial then just sticking to set positions no matter what.

I'm usually not a fan of bringing team issues here but it seems the best way to get my point across, so here goes....

First off, I want to thank everyone for their obvious collective effort to drag us out of the cellar. There isn't a person on this team that hasn't improved significantly since this season started.

That said, now that we've ranked up so has our competition, and we need to shore some things up.

First off, everyone will have a set position on the floor from now on (guard, wing, post), and we're all going to stay there. If you get stuck with a player you don't like, you're free to use a reserve. Everyone has to be at a spot on the floor where they can maximize what they do best.

Secondly, we're going to gameplan every match we play from now on. Nothing elaborate, but everyone playing will have a specific job on offense and defense, unique to that particular game. This way there's no confusion or miscommunication. I'd like everyone to have a voice in making them.\

I should be around tonight after the game for anyone interested in playing some matches.
Game planning is something I like and am interested in hearing some plans you all have.

Had some growing pains last night, but we'll be better for it in the long term. liking the new approach. More involvement, more accountability.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Does anyone know if 2kshare rosters are downloadable across all platforms? I have been working over a month now on a roster download on my PS3...

It is an 80s- future all time teams roster download... All players are rated based off their actual stats from the best season of their career (lots of research)... Young players such as PG, Irving, Cousins, etc. stats are based on their per 36 stats plus a little guessing on my part...

All players are on a team that they actually played for in their career... The drafting of these teams took a LONG time... I started by sorting all players by their primary position... All NBA teams were required to have 3 guys at all 5 positions... Players were then aloud to choose which of their career franchises they would play for (put myself in their shoes)... Starting with the highest rated players at all positions... Some guys chose their franchise by looking at what role was available at their position on all of their career teams... Some guys chose to be a 3rd stringer over a starting spot on another team for a team that was stacked and had the best chance at winning...

I'll post the final roster results in a minute... But I guess I have two questions for you all...

    1. Can a PS3 created roster be downloaded from 2kshare on a Xbox?

    2. Would any of you be interested in downloading it when I'm done? It's gonna be fun to play with...

Yes and we lost. Like I said, growing pains. Sometimes you gotta take one step back first. I was really encouraged. Everyone knows what their responsibilities are now. Everyone knows what they need to work on for the next night we play.

Next day I can go is Saturday.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

    Division Champions 1955, 1956, 1988, 1989, 1990, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
    Conference Champions 1955, 1956, 1988, 2005
    NBA Champions 1989, 1990, 2004

Most of the problem is the team can only play games when me or k stat are on. I'm on even less than he is.

You should give captain to someone other than myself so they can play more games.

I'm not going to just give captaincy away. Someone is going to be responsible for running them team when I'm not around. I'm more than happy to let someone do it, but someone has to step up first.

IMO if three people get on and wanna play some hoops we should let them. It's the pacers digest team. Not kstats not mine not anyones.

This is a game we play for fun. I think that gets lost in translation a lot of the time. Im confident that whoever is on, will try their best to win. We're all adults here.

And tbh, it's not like we're the 90's bulls when you play with us.

Way too much over thinking over a video game.

Waiting for the "you don't take this seriously" or "your attitude sucks" comment that's bound to come.

I wanna win just as much as anyone else but Having fun with you guys = more important that following strict, rigid guidelines on a friggin video game

I'm not doing this again, with you or anyone else. I have no interest in fighting over this.

That said, you're right. This is the digests team. Not mine. So, in that respect, im done. The next person to ask for it can have full control over team digest, no questions asked. I'm sorry I was not able to do the job to everyone's satisfaction. I really did try my hardest to keep everyone happy, but I guess I failed.

Whoever wants to assume control over team digest, just let me know.

The cycle concludes yet again. I'm not entirely sure why I let myself get sucked back into this again. This has ended twice before in a similar manner. The chemistry never lasts.

It's fine. I'm not going to let it get to a point where there is in fighting. Im not even responding to ryan picking a fight with me. Im removing myself from the equation. I'm leaving so everyone else can create a happier environment. I'd feel bad if you guys quit playing because of me.

It tends not to work without both of you being involved and heading it up.
