Default Vid of Roy Hitting the Weights

Not sure if this has been posted already or not. If so, my bad. Thought everyone would enjoy keeping tabs on Roy's progress.

IMO this is EXACTLY what Roy needs to be doing. If he starts packing on lean muscle mass, especially in his lower body, he will dominate games. I don't think anyone on our team makes better use of their summers than Roy does. I'm glad to see him gaining strength, but still staying in good mobile basketball shape. i.e. building an athletic Dwight Howard type body, not a fat lazy Shaq physique. Dwight Howard dominates games because he is so strong, but also still very athletic overall. Much like David Robinson was. There's no reason that Roy couldn't do the same. Nice to see him in a REAL weight room too. Looks like he has a good trainer advising him, instead of some crackpot that's just trying to make him gain empty weight.

If you see this, keep it up the good work Roy!

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

I never understand why Boozer talks so much trash, and then he is a non factor in games. You think he would learn to shut his mouth. He was a no show for most of that series. I can understand Noah talking trash, cause he's a hustle, get in your face, annoy you kind of player. But Boozer doesn't seem to back it up much.

When Boozer annoys you, just picture him getting stuffed by AJ Moye back in the '02 NCAA tournament.

That strength training should help with his balance and strength in his hands and arms.
Hope we get to see the fruits of Roys labor on the court this year.

Skip to 7:20 to see AJ Moye make Boozer wish he was never born.

Carlos Boozer is an overrated, overpaid piece of crap. I hate that guy.

Anyway. Great for Roy. I think this is something that will help him become a much more comfortable center and use his height and now size to his advantage.

Looks like a lot of focus on base strength and power, and that rope pull has got to help his hands. Good to see Roy still bustin' his butt, that's what will make him reach his potential and could really help push the Pacers over the top.

    That's AWESOME man...

Roy is working his tail off to be the best he can be .. I really admire his dedication to the fans, himself .... and to the Pacer's organization..

I believe we are gonna see a much more balanced Hibba ; and I don't believe we will see him be pushed around on the block nearly as often as in the past ..

    That being said ....

    Good Job Roy !!

This is awesome. It's almost like Roy listened to my advice and got serious about squats and lunges. If he comes in next year being able to squat a lot more weight than he has in the past, and he keeps with the lunges, I bet he is finally going to start throwing em down on boys and being able to back defenders down more. I bet he finally has a good shooting year too. He'll also see his defense improve because he will hold his ground better.

Could Roy finally become an All-star caliber center? I hope so. And I think he has shown that he has a better chance of actually doing it than any 7 foot 2 guy I've seen in a while. He's shown flashes. All we need to see from him is some physical strength in his lower core and consistency. I think the improved core strength will go a long way in helping him become consistent. Guys won't knock him out of his position, or keep him from gaining any. This could really be his breakout year. We know Vogel isn't going to bench him in crunch time either so his confidence has to be much higher this year.

Awesome! I expect Roy to be obviously stronger this year. I think he was doing more cardio last year. Which is fine if your a perimeter guy or a big man in JOBs motion offense. I think he traded strength for quickness. I expect Big Roy to turn heads this year now that he can actually prepare for a season as a true center should.
