Again, if the odds are that great, then there isn't a serious risk. Players have been seriously hurt on routine plays where there wasn't even a foul.

Not to mention, you can't use most of their tactics anymore because the NBA pussified the league.

No, the point is that they're both dangerous.

Showers are slip and fall hazards too.

You're not even making sense anymore.

Because players get hurt without getting fouled doesn't justify dirty fouls.

"dirty foul" is a totally subjective term. We've been over this before.

I tend to drive 5mph over the speed limit. You can tell me as a result of that I could kill somebody, so any kind of speeding is wrong. I could say that I'm comfortable with that level of speeding that I will never hurt anyone, but the risk is there. It might be only an added %0.00001 of risk, but mathematically, it's a fact. Does that make me a terrible person?

Which is why people don't pour vasoline on their shower floors. You're arguing in favor of adding more risk to the situation, just beause there is some risk already present.

You're right. Some people call holding a jersey a dirty tactic. I'm not talking about those. I'm talking about hitting people without trying to hold them up and letting them fall how they fall.

You've made it perfectly clear that you don't care if they fall because hardwood floors are soft and all. Or you've said if they can't handle the fall then they aren't man enough.

I'm perfectly ok with fouling someone in the air so long as you aren't flipping them. It's very easy to control how you land if you're falling the same angle as you went up.

Again, you can say that someone landing on their side runs the risk of breaking an arm, and I say that risk is minimal, because I've seen and experienced so many such falls myself, that I'm perfectly comfortable with the "added" with of someone not landing on their feet.

Hitting someone while they're in midair without the ability to regain their balance and control their landing is no where near comparison of going 5MPH over the speed limit.

Since you tend to focus in on specifics, I'll use another example.

Putting your foot underneath a player as he takes a shot, like Bruce Bowen, isn't comparable to driving 5mph over the speed limit.

It's pretty hard to control your body when your in the air after you've been hit. If you've ever had the experience you wouldn't make a completely wrong statement like that.

You're in the air for less than a second. (that is fact) You have very little reaction time plus you don't have anything to brace yourself to move. You can't change the direction of your body unless something else is there to put force against.

If you're in the air, and I hit you, you're body changes directions and you don't have the ability to change it back.

It also isn't comparable to the bad boys, because that isn't mean to deliver a little pain, it's meant to injure, and Bowen HAS injured plenty of players that way.

Oh sure you do. You don't even need to think about it, because instinct takes over.

If you have time to contort your body in the air to get a shot off, you have time to contort it to break a hard fall. The only exception to that if if you're falling head-first.

Not to mention, %90 of "hard" fouls don't even occur at the peak of the jump. The idea is to commit the foul before you get more than an inch or two off the ground, to prevent any kind of shot being attempted. This was a very common tactic the bad boys used, and also a main reason why there weren't many serious falls.

If I'll concede anything, it's that really hard fouls should only be delivered by players at the same level as the shooter, or above. I never advocate fouling someone hard from underneath, because then you run the risk of a head-first fall.

    You cannot be serious.

Somehow I manage to start these, but in the end, I'm just another spectator.

So far Kstat is putting up a good defense against the Weenie: http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/weenie.htm and Innocence Abused: http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/innocenceabused.htm

I give him the edge so far.

Talk about stupid fights over the Internet. Wow. Anyways, I give the edge to KStat. Doesn't matter though as this is trivial and very silly.
