Default Ben Wallace Arrested (Drunk Driving/Concealed Weapon)

Pistons C Wallace arrested for drunken driving - Yahoo! Sports

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP)—Authorities in suburban Detroit say Detroit Pistons center Ben Wallace(notes) has been charged with drunken driving and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon after a traffic stop.

Bloomfield Township police said Thursday that the 37-year-old Wallace was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday after officers observed a Cadillac Escalade being driven erratically. Police said they found an unloaded pistol in a backpack.

Officers say Wallace was given a blood-alcohol test and he was above Michigan’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Police declined to provide further details.

Wallace, who helped the Pistons win the 2004 NBA title, was arraigned and released on a $5,000 personal bond. His next court hearing is Monday.

An email was sent by The Associated Press seeking comment from a Wallace representative.

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

No mention of the Brawl? Are we finally moving past that or is it only when Stephen Jackson, Ron Artest, or Jermaine O'Neal are involved in an incident that it gets thrown in at the bottom?

the concealed weapon thing can be written off as a silly mistake, but dunk driving is one thing I do not look past. Shame, Ben. You should know better.

...except the weapon wasn't loaded. it was empty and buried inside a backpack.

Poor reading comprehension can be just as dangerous....

Charlie V isn't a thug. Thugs are actually capable of hurting people, not slap-fighting with Ryan Hollins.

I miss the days of Rick Mahorn and Bill Laimbeer. They could actually fight. CV is just an embarrassment.

You know what? yeah. Politically incorrect or not, that's a part of our history I'm damn proud of.

It's a different era now and obviously you can't do that anymore, but back in the day I took a lot of joy in seeing Scottie Pippen wet his pants at the thought of attacking the rim. We separated the men from the boys.

A lot of long-timers here look back on Dale Davis with the same fondness. He nearly choked Michael Smith to death.

There's a difference in fighting on the court, and providing a physical presence in the paint. Big difference.

Not really. Often when you hit someone hard, they take offense to it. Nobody walks on the court looking to get into a fight. It's just the result of rough play reaching a boiling point. And we played rougher than anyone.

Yes you did, but you guys were looking for a fight. And rooting and being proud of your team being popular for fighting, is rather pathetic.

Nobody ever got hurt, aside from bumps and bruises, nobody was ever rendered physically unable to play. It was all about intimidation. We didn't have any Carmelo Anthonys that would sucker-punch someone and then backpedal out of the arena like a little girl.

Likewise, I think playing morally superior and looking down on someone for being proud of his team is rather pathetic, so I guess in a weird way, we agree!

We never would have taken out Bird, Magic and Jordan in the playoffs without that mental edge. We didn't have one of the 5 greatest players of all time, so we had to find a different path to the title, rather than just giving up and laying down like the other 20 teams in the league. Mahorn and Laimbeer were quintessential Pistons, and I'll appreciate them for life. I owe nobody an apology for that.

Heh. That Pacers-Kings brawl was the first Pacer game I ever attended in person (was just 8 years old). I have vague memories of all the commotion.

A month later, I saw Rik Smits drop a career high of 44 against the Clipps that stood for the remainder of his career.

My first two Pacer games were definitely somewhat eventful.
