I'm with you. I don't want to root for a mediocre product. Same reason the last few years I had no problem with the Pacers losing until this last year. You need talent and what is basically two first round picks this year will really help Manning the next few years. With Manning basically out for the season it's a great chance to take advantage of the situation and get high draft picks.

The offense looks great if you add Manning and will only be better next year. A few added stud defensive players in the draft and maybe a free agent defensive player and the Colts will be retooled to make a run in Manning's last few years. I hope they get rid of Coyer, though. I hate the cushions he gives receivers with a passion.

I am calling it now Colts draft Luck and trade him for about 10 draft picks. It will be one of the biggest mistake in franchise history 10 years from now. But I could see them trading him.

a franchise QB is much different than a RB like Herschel RB's are fragile and get hurt and are a dime a dozen a QB like Luck is much more valuable and way more rare.(hasnt been a prospect like Luck since Manning) If you can get a young RB for a older one you do it.(if they have the same skill level/upside

especially in this day in age teams with franchise QBs don't even need a good RB.

But #1 draft picks at QB aren't always a sure thing these days.. At least Manning is

I like how we haven't seen a prospect like Luck since Manning. How quickly we forget Sam Bradford's hype coming out of OU.

    Orlovsky > Painter.

Orlovsky couldn't be < Collins these last two weeks.

At least the guy had some fire in his belly. Collins & Painter just look so blase'. How about some leadership from the QB position?

I read on another board he already referred to the fans as idiots...(not sure how accurate that is)

But really Bill now is not a time to spurn the fanbase...

Really the only way this team is going to get a clue is to hit them where it hurts $$$$$$$$$$$$

Only then will they get a damn clue.

He didnt have nearly any hype Many didnt think he was the #1 pick worthy. He didnt play much cause of his injury his last year at OU. Many experts had more hype over Stafford than Bradford.

Jamal Charles is out for the year looks like the Colts wont have the worst record in the NFL unless they throw the game vs the Chiefs or the Chiefs play really really good that week.

Jamaal Charles isn't that important they still have Dwayne Bowe and co.

are you being serious? Jamaal was the key to that teams success last year. (Bowe was very good as well but without Charles that team would of stunk)

Thank you for bringing some sanity to this thread. The Chiefs have one fewer turnover (9) than points (10) so far this year, and have massive injury problems that are only likely to make it worse.

The Chiefs are worse than us statistically, but they also haven't played Cleveland who looks like a 4-12 team. The Lions are a possible playoff team this year and even the Bills are probably better than the Browns this year.

I meant that he's not the player the entire team lives and dies by(like the Cotls/Manning). I mean he was there for the first game and they still got waxed.

I think Charlie Weis meant a lot more to that team than Haley was willing to ever admit and it shows.

And losing Eric Berry was killer too.

Do you remember how hyped he was before he got hurt? Obviously not. The whole reason he was the number 1 pick even after missing almost his entire senior year was because of his hype.

dude Jake Locker was considered the best QB that year. He was considered the #1 pick but he decided to go back to school. Many experts said Suh would of been a much better pick and was the better talent. He wasn't considered a once in a decade type QB talent like many saying Luck is.

The fact he was picked over Suh who really was considered a can't miss defensive end prospect should say how highly he was thought of.

If gambling were legal, I'd totally be willing to put $100 on the Colts to win that game against the Chiefs, assuming Charles is out for the season. Last season he meant almost as much to the the Chiefs as Manning meant to the Colts. Why Charles only got something like 10 carries against the Bills, I will never know.

Yeah, I'm sorry but the Chiefs have lost Jamaal Charles and Eric Berry. There is no way we are worse than them.

Maybe but this is a QB league they tend to be held in higher regard than the other positions of the NFL.

A QB can change the franchise forever as we already know.

I am absolutely not impressed at all by Collins. Actually, I never thought much of him even during his glory years. But, I have to say in his defense, I didn't think our receivers we're getting good separation for the most part.

That said, Collins still looked deer-in-the-headlightsish. I get he's shortchanged on prep, but what about all the veteran wisdom, leadership, and the scaled back offense?

Defense was just okay. In their defense, our STs and turnovers have put their back against the wall a ton this preseason. I'm not encouraged, however, by okay D against the likes of the Brown's offense. That translates into Houston-game-like-D against most.

Actually he kind of was that team was built on running the football. They lead the NFL last year in rushing Jamaal was by far the most important player to the Chiefs success last year and it wasn't even close. When that team ran the ball well last year they won when they didn't they lost I would say he was a huge key to the success.
