Secure Andrew Luck as the #1 pick

If he's as good as they say he is then Painter would've actually been useful to us for once.
We don't need to cut Collins to be bad enough to secure Andrew Luck.

Even the most pessimistic of fans couldn't have foreseen this. This is embarrassing. No pride. Lucky they aren't at home or people would boo the **** out of this effort.
Exactly. I fully expected to lose, and likely by a decent amount. But I didn't think we'd just completely lay down.

Is Peyton Manning the greatest player of all time? I mean seriously.
I was thinking the same thing. Hard to argue at this point.

Folks, this is what happens when you draft like this for several years:

    http://www.pro-football-reference.co...e=any&show=all

We wasted our 08 first rounder to get the bag of garbage that was Tony Ugoh. Bad pick after bad pick.

Pacertom detailed how the Patriots have essentially rebuilt their 16-0 team in the last few years through smart drafting. When you draft as poor as Polian has for the past few years then it's not surprising when you all of the sudden aren't very talented anymore. Manning has been covering up for the front office for several years now.

If we win less than four games, even without Manning, Caldwell needs to be fired. For God's sake hire Jeff Fisher.
Hell, we'd be better off with Fisher next week, let alone next year.

Well there's one way of looking at it but imagine if he can take this team and make it a playoff contender imagine what he could've done with a far more balanced team.

A potential dynasty that will never be realized at this point in his career.

    Just sad to me.
    100% agree.

How this could be acceptable to the front office year after year is unfathomable to me. And the 2006 defense was nothing to write home about until the playoffs.... and there's probably a few reasons for that. ...none of which were great team building.

You want to see fans jumping off the bandwagon... ? Put a team on the field that fundamentally can't stop the run. Mix in a team that can't get 1 yard on the ground with a 3rd and 1. That's what Manning has had to deal with.

So yeah, a post Manning Colts team could be in danger of losing team support if that is the way the team brass wants to operate. That's not because Indy is a fairweather fanbase... that's because fans aren't stupid.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

Why is the media so convinced we have other talented guys on this team?
Because the Colts could never be so inept as to surround Manning with less than inferior talent(sans Freeney/Mathis/Clark/Wayne/Addai/Vinateri)

I mean Manning is supposed to win multiple SBs with a gifted coach like Jim Caldwell and a stellar defense that gives up run yardage like there's no tomorrow.

And a stellar special teams too

    *sarcasm*

Yes Tom Brady goes out for the entire season and the Pats manage to be 11-5 with a QB that didn't start a game since high school.

The Colts can barely score without Manning and are getting waxed 34-0 and its not halftime.

    keeping his pride?

But you guys are helping me a lot in fantasy I have the Texans Kicker. I am so glad I stayed away from the Colts player I didn't draft one because Manning would be out awhile.

Wayne's actually doing ok for me. Garcon and Collie look like turds out there without Peyton throwing them the ball so Reggie should get all the catches this season.

I have a theory: The Colts still made the playoffs the last 9 years. And most of those were one and dones but hey they made the playoffs so what they were doing was still "great"

But then there's the "Oh crap!" moment where Manning is unable to play and then they get exposed in the season opener how incredibly flawed they have always been for the past few years.

This is a brutal wakeup call the question is will they actually answer it.

Honestly haven't most of us been saying this for a while? Even with Peyton is pretty obvious how bad most of these players are. I mean Gary Brackett is our best linebacker. GARY ****ING BRACKETT. He's like 5'8"!

Marino on CBS halftime show, "No Peyton, no points".

Dierdorf: "I can only imagine it was a spirited conversation from Jim Caldwell and his staff at halftime."

Sorry, but I have a hard time imagining that. I don't think of Knute Rockne when I look at Caldwell.

Ya I passed on Wayne I was gonna draft him but took the next person down due to the situation. I actually would take Manningham instead of Wayne in fantasy this year. Forte and Steven Jackson having big days for me.

I hope they lay it on real thick the complete and utter embarrassment they have been(at least this first half) they need to feel it to their core like us fans witnessing this disaster.

And the Texans don't even have to score anymore because there's no Peyton Manning to lead the comeback.

Ha! You know full well he'll cancel it tomorrow if you thought the Decision of throwing away the perfect season was bad(and after witnessing this atrocity it still makes it even suckier) with the backlash

This will make that child's play....

Our offensive line has killed three different drives with terrible penalties right around the 50 yard line. Can't blame Collins for that.

What in the bloody blue hell was that play call? You need 20 yards and you throw it to Addai on a screen out of the shotgun? Because the Colts blockers have been on fire today so far right? Good lord...
