If that's the case then you are correct- If it is being used to memorialize last year than that's a different story. Apologies

    Fixed.
This would have been true for next year right? But really it would have been true in AH for the year after that given that IU freshmen recruits would have returned unlike UK's.

It took Darren35 less than 20 posts to land on my ignore list. Even OlBlu couldn't pull that one off.

All of these appear to be subjective as opposed to facts.

Uk has a very disturbing past, and I acknowledge that. Not proud of it for sure. IU has had their share of problems-but not as severe as UK. You guys haven't given up on the Hoosiers so certainly you can understand why I am still a fan.

The pure emotions on this message board reflect the passion and rivalry we all have or feel. Most of you hate UK and I don't care for IU. I will say this- you guys have a lot to be excited about. Hopefully Crean will fail miserably. I he doesn't this team is nearly a lock for the final four.

IU has what...one good year (by IU fan standards) and you guys are king of the world??? Thats just silly. Your much vaulted recruiting class is still ranked lower than UKs.
Problem is, our team actually returns and gets better. UK has to restart, IU will no doubt be the better team even with Kentucky's slightly better one year class.

Five star 2014 wing Theo Pinson was in Bloomington for an unofficial visit yesterday.

My how times have changed. Crean can get out of state five stars to pay their own way to take an unofficial visit.

Anyone else see Crean at Game 3 of the Finals last night? The man knows how to give himself and by extension, Indiana basketball, good PR. Matt Painter and Brad Stevens sure as hell weren't there. The elite recruits saw Crean on ABC and get reminded once again that this guy knows how to develop elite talent.

A decade ago every major basketball program either dropped the ball or weren't willing to take the risk on a Prop 48 Dwyane Wade, thus Tom Crean is a brilliant talent developer and Matt Painter and Brad Stevens are unable to get nearly as much out of their kids. Makes sense.

Never mind that both Painter's and Stevens' programs have produced more NBA players in the last 5 years than Crean's.

This is silly. While Wade going from a 3 star recruit to an all world 2 guard will always be a big feather in Crean's cap, why would Painter or Stevens go to game 3 of the NBA finals in a series where neither of them have a former player in the race?

I guess you didn't understand the entire point of my post- Crean has coached and developed elite NBA talent and Stevens/Painter have not. Thus Crean can go down to Miami and watch the NBA Finals, get shown to millions on ABC, and stay fresh in the minds of elite recruits.

Well genius that is because Crean took over trainwreck of a program- yet in four short years has made it far better than either Purdue or Butler. Just watch the next five years, Crean will be sending far more players to the NBA than litte 'ol Butler or irrelevant Purdue. Zeller, Watford, Oladipo, Ferrell, Lyles, and whatever other elite talent he recruits and develops will be making a living in the Association.

If we're going to so much better than Purdue and Butler, why are you so concerned with constantly talking about them? I agree that we will see more success than either of them over the next 5-10 years, but I don't understand the need to act like that's because Painter and Stevens aren't doing their jobs.

Second straight year of IU men's basketball scoring 1,000 on the APR. I believe it was 850-something when Crean arrived. Last 3 years have been 975, 1000, and now 1000 again. Brings our 4 year cumulative score to 952. Very impressed by Crean and the men on this team.

Semi Ojeleye made an unofficial visit to IU today and picked up an offer. He is a 6'6 wing ranked in the top 40 in the class of 2013.

Yeah, I would rather have a big as the final piece of our 2013 class, and preferably BeeJay Anya, but I wouldn't be upset with this guy either. I think he is a Duke lean though.

Yep, that is what I have read as well. I don't know how the '13 class will end up at this point.

The 2014 class is gearing up to be something special with Vonleh (#2), Theo Pinson (top 15) and Phil Booth (top 40) all getting heavy interest and scholarship offers from Crean.

You have to be kidding me. I'm sure the kid is good, but he hasn't played a minute of high school ball yet and he has offers from three major conference Div I schools?

The kid is probably a safe bet for a top 20 talent in his class. There are no question marks about his family or upbringing. His brothers are hard workers. I have no problem with this. It's the nature of the beast, and some of the question marks you have about kids in high school are alleviated by the precedents his brothers set.

Because one of their players is a guy that Cal is recruiting!

There is ALWAYS a sleaze angle with that guy!
