Bizarro stat of the night, VJIII, 7 assists, 1 turnover.
Right in line with the exhibition game.

For the first time in his college career, we don't need Verdell to create offense for us. He just needs to be more of a "game manager" now, which, in hindsight, he was probably always more suited for. I don't expect his ratio to be that good all year, but I definitely think it will be significantly improved from his past three years. Just part of the Cody Zeller effect.

Also, FTs: 21-24. Thank god Zeller is a decent FT shooter, because he is going to get to the line quite a bit.

went to the game. it was a fun game to watch. i haven't been able to say that in a long time. zellar is a great acquisition for the program. i saw him go coast2coast last night for a jam. no classic big man awkwardness in him. it has been quite a while since iu has had a true big man who was worth a damn and not just tall and sits on the bench 80-90% of the time.

vic and will were looking very impressive. they have good handles and can drive and finish. those 2 and zellar can be a powerful trio. basically everyone played well offensively and i can't complain about that. this team should make post season.

Another tough team tonight, Chattanooga will be starting transfers from Vanderbilt, Georgetown, Oklahoma, and Georgia. They are the favorites in the SoCon just like Stony Brook is the favorite in the America East.

will be going to this one too. since the colts totally blow and the NBA probably won't even have a season, it is good to have a team that is fun to watch.

Savvy scheduling picks here by the IU AD if Stony Brook and Chattanooga live up to preseason conference expectations and we get the wins.

Victor has one of the best first steps I have seen in college ball. So explosive off the dribble.

Btw, this play is pretty encouraging. They look even better tonight than they did in the SB game.

Did Hulls shrink then? Cause Jordan is a pretty solid 6'1". I've also seen yogi been called as small as 5'9". Also lol at hulls at 5'9". I took a class with him. He's at least 6 foot.

We look very good. Yogi will be the only freshman starter next year unless Hanner gets more polished.

ya I hope to see him in Blue and Gold one day. He is quite a talent still needs coaching though and needs to play under control and work on his shot. No doubt he will be a good pro one day IMO.

These past two IU games have been very enjoyable. Shehey and Oladipo have improved greatly since last season. Glad they participated int the pro-am.

I'm very excited about college bb this year since my fav team is relevant again.

If we can keep up this play against Evansville and not just squeak out a win, but win by double digits and control the game, I might have to revise my prediction.

On the other hand, two small red flags from Chattanooga game, 1.) VJIII, 5 turnovers, 2 assists. 2.) Cody with 4 fouls in only 24 minutes against a team that didn't have an inside presence.

I am not the least bit concerned about either of those things, which makes me very excited that those are the only red flags we can conjur up after two games.

Oladipo just became the first IU player to win player of the week since DJ did it in 2008. Cody shared freshman of the week honors.
