Re: Indiana University Athletics Thread 2011-2012
The follow up from all 6 Purdue fans will be that Dakich is a homer towards IU (which is probably true). Still, 23-25 games? That's like, top 15 team in the country. Really can't see that happening. Probably hyperbole on his part to get more listeners to his show.Comment

Or to make it much easier to skewer Crean when the team doesn't live up to Dakich's "expectations".
I don't know if I'd call Dakich a homer towards IU, he still seems bitter.

Nah, he's just generating ratings. If he wants ratings, he knows how to get them: Say something that gets the Hoosier faithful chattering. He did it. I don't honestly believe Dakich thinks IU wins 23 games this season.Comment

Re: Indiana University Athletics Thread 2011-2012
Looking at their schedule, I can find 23 wins pretty logically.
You have to think they'll start 8-0.
They could split with Kentucky and Notre Dame. 9-1.
Next two are gimmes against Howard and UMBC. 11-1.
They could win 1 @ MSU, vs. OSU, and vs. Mich. 12-3.
They should beat both PSU and Minn. 14-3.
They should get 3 of their next 5 @ OSU, @ Neb., vs. PSU, @ Wisc., and vs. Iowa. 17-5.
They can win 1 of their next 3 @ Mich, @ Purdue, and vs. Illinois. 18-7.
They should get 4 in a row vs. NW, @ Iowa, vs. North Carolina Central, and @ Minn. 22-7.
They can split their two home games to end the season vs. MSU and Purdue. 23-8.
25 seems like a bit of a stretch but 23 is probably what they should get."I had to take her down like Chris Brown."

I guess I'm just way more hesitant about road games than you BWD.

Logically, we could win 23 games, sure, which is why I said 20 originally (and was chastised for that), but have pared it down to 18-19. But we should not get 23 wins. That's really a best case scenario of things that could happen. A realistic scenario for a team that has won 8 B1G games the past 3 years combined is 18-19 wins, which I think they will get.Last edited by cdash; 11-08-2011, 02:08 PM.Comment

Yep. I'll hope for 18. Anything less will PROBABLY be underachieving with the schedule. However, anything more just becomes gravy with a realistic (hopefully) starting point for expectations.I'd rather die standing up than live on my knees.

WOO!!!!!!
Plus, it's looking like Gary Harris is going to Michigan State. Honestly, when it was clear he wasn't coming to IU, that is where I wanted him. If we lose, I want the Boilers and Cats to lose too.Comment

The impact that Cody Zeller makes on the court next year...Yogi Ferrell's will be almost as big. I can't tell you how much we need a true point like him and he is the total package. I love this kid. It brought a huge smile to my face seeing that picture of him signing his LOI.Comment

Yogi to a TV camera, "Gary, just come to IU"
Will be interesting to see what happens. Rabjohns is on the Peegs boards saying the decision is still not made.

Not to interrupt this day with what's really non-news, but ... Gary Harris has not made a decision, per his father this afternoon.
