Probably depends on who the one seed in our region is.

I think they have some FF potential, but are not likely to realize it, based on what others have already laid out. Points on their propensity for red hot shooting are definitely on target as far as our best way to actually get there.

At the same time, if they reel off some more B1G road wins/impressive wins over the remainder of the year, maybe I'll change my mind. Right now I'd guestimate about a 20% chance of a FF appearance.

IU has a lot of potential but I still have the gut feeling that we just aren't good enough on the road yet. As we've shown, we can beat ANYBODY in AH.. But we just haven't looked as tough on the road. Still a very talented team, but I feel we could be one of the "Big Dogs" that get sniped in the tourny by a hot shooting underdog team.. Though I really feel we have the talent and ability to hang with anybody leading up to the Final Four. So exciting to be back up here! It almost doesn't feel real to be back in the top 10!

I don't see us getting beat by someone we shouldn't in the tournament. Having an elite big man lessens the chances of that happening.

Awesome. With the amount of fun he seems to have going thru life, I wouldn't be suprised if he stayed in college at LEAST 3 years.. Probably all 4 though. Then take his paycheck in the NBA. I love this guy even more after reading the article.

Zeller is a clown. Great sense of humor.

My favorite Zeller story is that he joined a facebook group for incoming IU freshman this summer like they all pretty much do, and he posted on the wall "Does anyone know how you get season tickets for the basketball team? I'm a really big fan and would like to watch them."

Zeller is the epitome of Indiana basketball. Not IU necessarily, but the state. It's so incredibly easy to root for him.

Michigan lucked out huge against Northwestern tonight, and Nebraska knocked off Penn State.

Every B1G game is tough, but there's no reason IU should lose at home tonight.

We beat Minny last year at home. It'd be nice to have a Big Ten game here where we win by double figures.

Game we must win tonight. Minnesota is teetering on the edge of falling into oblivion this season. We might as well push them over the edge.

    Stunning loss. Just absolutely stunning.

Looks like a losing streak on the horizon with OSU up next.

What we learned tonight is that when Verdell and Watford **** their pants at the same time the results are catastrophic.

I really want to appreciate Verdell... I do.... But I'd be fine with gluing him to the bench. Indiana as a team has completely passed him up, especially on the offensive side of things.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

I just don't understand. Everyone in the starting lineup except Cody and Verdell has been benched at the start of the 2nd half at some point this season to make a point. I understand why you won't do that to Cody, but why is Verdell a golden calf?

I noted that Watford took a defensive vacation vs PSU. He extended that to both sides of the court vs Minnesota. Just a terrible effort, and the reason he won't go pro any time soon.

Verdell is embarrassingly bad. Gets way too much protection from guys like Dakich.

That said, unbelievably impressed by Zeller. Again. Kid is just unreal.

Too many second chance opportunities for Minnesota, they pretty much summed it up in the second half.
Fire up that tank and drive it to the lottery then to the draft

A lot because Watford refused to put a body on anyone. He's too much of a lightswitch. He needs to figure out how to consistently play at a high level and stop taking nights off. Needs too much coaxing from Crean, IMO, to play well.

I don't know if this the place to ask or not, but do any of my PD cronies have IU b-ball tix (cheap ones) that they would consider selling or swapping for Pacer tix for my wife and I?

    Thanks

The inability to secure our defensive boards was huge. We do that and we win in an uncomfortably close home affair. However, this reinforces the rebounding/physicality weakness as the biggest chink in our armor.

MSU beat us in large part by employing a physical, aggressive style and taking it to us. I think Minnesota did the same, although we helped, IMO, by not playing with any fire until it was too late - i.e. about 12 minutes to go.

So, now we really find out what this team's about. The first major adversity of the season, an embarrassing home loss to Minny followed by a likely revenge-fueled shellacking at OSU. How will IU respond? Lot of B1G hoops left to prove ourselves or sink like dead weight.

VJIII apparently ran himself ragged after the game. Stayed at Assembly Hall until 12:35 AM and worked his butt off.

Whole team should have been there with him. No one was above what happened last night.

Also, you can't ask for a much easier two game stretch to land on after the OSU game, Nebraska and Penn State. And no I don't care that Nebraska is on the road, their home crowd is always pretty mediocre.
