    Whew.

PSU almost gutted that one out on pure determination.

    15-1!

That was the worst defensive performance we've had all year. In no world should we let Penn State drop 80+ points on us.

Penn State is going to seriously injure someone the way they recklessly dive after the ball even while someone is dribbling it. That is terrible and a reckless way to play basketball. They are like one of those bad teams at your local rec league where the game is close just because you're always afraid one of them is going to accidentally dive through your legs and blow out both your knees.

How many times would they dive after the ball while one of our players was dribbling it for no apparent reason? Even when they didn't really have a chance to steal the ball? I hope this new coach at PSU isn't long for the world if this is how he's going to coach his teams. Don't be surprised when people start dropping like flies against PSU, not because they're dirty, but just because they are reckless and stupid.

Some pretty bad officiating calls down the stretch, IMO, with BTN rooting them on. Weird to see BTN rooting so hard for Penn State in their commentary. At least try to be neutral?

IU has some things to work on, but anyone who didn't expect a closer-than-comfortable game doesn't watch the B1G enough.

Now I see why I don't like Frazier. Seems like a typical whiny, selfish, "me first" kind of player.

    And he travels a lot.
And that's why he is on pace to shatter Penn State's assist record?

For now, I'm gonna chalk it up to us being due for a let down after the gauntlet that was our first 3 big ten games.

I'm going to chalk it up to the fact they knew they could score on Penn State any time they wanted to. You would think after we hit our 10th wide open three that they would have adjusted their defense, but they did no such thing.

That was one of the most impressive shooting performances I've ever seen from a college team.

It was obvious that we were trying to avoid giving up any three-point plays at the end, so we just let them keep walking in for layups.

Not saying it was the best strategy, but I don't believe we just decided to stop playing defense at the end.

I think the craziest thing to me was the way the shots were hitting the hoop. This wasn't like we got a couple lucky bounces along the way. It was rare to even see the ball touch the rim that's how pure they were shooting it.

I dunno, he had 7 assists against us as well. He didn't strike me as selfish, though number 11 on Penn State definitely did.

The B1G has slots 5, 6, and 7 in the AP Top 10. Nice.

It will be interesting to see how the voters take into account once these high ranked B1G teams start beating and/or losing to each other.

Hulls and Roth are automatic from three and have been for awhile. These guys are not streaky shooters.

Yup. Shocking to see them miss. IU certainly has some deficiencies (notably, Hulls and Roth's defense), but on most nights they can hang points on anyone in the country with such a strong balance between interior scoring and perimeter shooting.

I never said they were streaky? In fact, I think I was praising the craziness of how well they are shooting it. Both of their strokes are crazy pure.

But even then it's impossible to deny the impact Cody is having on the shooters. These guys were good shooters last year, but they were not shooting at the mind bending, record breaking pace we are right now. I just hope Cody stays for at least next year, can you imagine the looks Hulls is going to get with Cody underneath and Yogi dishing him the ball? Good Lord. If Maurice Creek were able to get healthy next year, I could see him going nuts as well.

Zeller will definitely stay for next year. He has NBA moves and is undoubtedly a NBA talent...but he's too weak for the NBA right now. He needs to hit the weight room for a year or two (probably just one, though) before he's NBA material.

Okay, I'll ask it: Can Indiana make the Final Four this season? I have an opinion (shocker), but I want to see what others think. I mean, right now Joe Lunardi has us as a 2 seed in the tournament. I know it's early, a lot can happen, blah blah blah, but does anyone think we are a legitimate Final Four contender?

Regardless, I think next year Indiana is a preseason top 3-5 team. That is assuming Zeller comes back and Watford doesn't try to go pro either.

If we continue to play and shoot the way we are, we absolutely have a shot at the Final Four. It depends on match-ups.

Remember, both the '02 and '87 team got to the title game due primarily to super-hot shooting. This year's team is up there with both of them in that respect.

I mean in all reality, of course they have a shot. Anything can happen and if they keep shooting like they have been they can beat anyone. We will get to see how they are on the road, and how they play against the Big 10. I dont think theyve played enough tough games away from AH to really judge how far they will go.

I think when its all said and done, they have a 2-4 seed. It depends on how they get paired up, but I def think a sweet 16 or elite 8 is realistic. Final Four if they are really rolling. I mean look at Butler. With a couple of lucky shots and some tough D they made it back to back.

Its so fun to think about Indiana being back in the tournament

It really is. The tournament loses a lot of it's luster for me when the Hoosiers aren't a participant. College basketball in general is 50x more exciting this year than the past 3 for me.

They have a shot, but they're still too young at so many key positions for me to believe they can maintain consistency throughout. The most important players on the team are probably, in order: Cody Zeller, Christian Watford, Victor Oladipo, Jordan Hulls and Will Sheehey. One freshman, two sophomores, two juniors. Add in a likely increased role by Remy Abell, and this team's youth will be its downfall at more than a few junctions. It would have been already if Zeller didn't play beyond his years (except in terms of strength).
