Or to make it much easier to skewer Crean when the team doesn't live up to Dakich's "expectations".
I don't know if I'd call Dakich a homer towards IU, he still seems bitter.
Looking at their schedule, I can find 23 wins pretty logically.
You have to think they'll start 8-0.
They could split with Kentucky and Notre Dame. 9-1.
Next two are gimmes against Howard and UMBC. 11-1.
They could win 1 @ MSU, vs. OSU, and vs. Mich. 12-3.
They should beat both PSU and Minn. 14-3.
They should get 3 of their next 5 @ OSU, @ Neb., vs. PSU, @ Wisc., and vs. Iowa. 17-5.
They can win 1 of their next 3 @ Mich, @ Purdue, and vs. Illinois. 18-7.
They should get 4 in a row vs. NW, @ Iowa, vs. North Carolina Central, and @ Minn. 22-7.
They can split their two home games to end the season vs. MSU and Purdue. 23-8.
25 seems like a bit of a stretch but 23 is probably what they should get.
"I had to take her down like Chris Brown."
If we go 23-8, I will poop myself with glee.
I guess I'm just way more hesitant about road games than you BWD.
If this isn't a classic case of a jinx I don't know what is.
Logically, we could win 23 games, sure, which is why I said 20 originally (and was chastised for that), but have pared it down to 18-19. But we should not get 23 wins. That's really a best case scenario of things that could happen. A realistic scenario for a team that has won 8 B1G games the past 3 years combined is 18-19 wins, which I think they will get.

Yep. I'll hope for 18. Anything less will PROBABLY be underachieving with the schedule. However, anything more just becomes gravy with a realistic (hopefully) starting point for expectations.
I'd rather die standing up than live on my knees.
Signing day baby!
Plus, it's looking like Gary Harris is going to Michigan State. Honestly, when it was clear he wasn't coming to IU, that is where I wanted him. If we lose, I want the Boilers and Cats to lose too.
The impact that Cody Zeller makes on the court next year...Yogi Ferrell's will be almost as big. I can't tell you how much we need a true point like him and he is the total package. I love this kid. It brought a huge smile to my face seeing that picture of him signing his LOI.
Yogi to a TV camera, "Gary, just come to IU"
Will be interesting to see what happens. Rabjohns is on the Peegs boards saying the decision is still not made.
From Rabjohns right now on the Peegs premium boards. Not to interrupt this day with what's really non-news, but ... Gary Harris has not made a decision, per his father this afternoon.
I don't even care about Gary Harris anymore. I really don't. Gary: Make a decision and end this **** so we can move on.
Finally it ends! Gary Harris to Michigan State.
What we've predicted all along really. How long have we been saying MSU was the leader?
Congrats to Gary...However, it will be enjoyable beating him for the next couple years
He was down to IU, MSU, Purdue, Kentucky. As I'm sure you know, Purdue and Kentucky are rivals of Indiana. So if he didn't pick Indiana (and it's been pretty evident for a while now that we were a long shot), Michigan State is my favored choice over two rival programs. Obviously, it would be better if he went somewhere like Washington, but that wasn't in the cards. Of the options, MSU was the most palatable.
McGary to Michigan is not a win. We weren't really involved too much with him, so I didn't care, but him giving legitimacy to that program sucks. Beilein (much like Painter in this regard) has never been able to land the big, 5 star recruit. McGary did that for him. And that sucks.
McGary is still a question mark IMO. He could be a really great player or he could just be an average big guy. He came out of nowhere and I just don't know, he just strikes me as one of those guys that I need to see more of. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't say no to him, just to me Harris is more of a sure thing.
McGary is a consensus top 5 guy by the recruiting services. Pretty much a sure thing. Harris varies a little more. Plus, McGary is a big. Always at a premium.
It actually stings me a little to see that Harris was down to MSU and IU. I honestly wish I didn't know that.
McGary exploded over the past year though was really more of my general point. Is he going to sustain it? That's what I need to see.
I told you guys we would be above Purdue on Gary's list. They were only on the list to appease his parents.
I'm a little surprised about UK, but if you read between the lines a bit of what Gary had been saying the past week or so it's pretty clear he liked IU a lot. I think if he didn't have to wait until spring to sign it's likely we could have gotten him, but such is life.
Looks like we have a sore loser...
