^supporting cast is weaker (esp. in frontcourt) than elsewhere...or maybe just the sentimental choice

EDIT: no idea where the DJ Byrd honorable mention/6th man award comes from. LewJack deserves HM though.

Yeah, DJ is a shock. I guess when you just look at conference play, but still a stretch.

I was wondering what would happen with Frazier and Taylor, glad to see they split.

Changing topics, I just read that Anothony Spencer, Cliff Avril and (of course) Drew Brees were all tagged yesterday. $$$

Quite a few ex-Boilers making big NFL money. Now if only we could get some of them (other than Brees) to donate, maybe Burke'd hire a real football coach.

Did anyone read the ESPN Insider article about why the Purdue football team are a sleeper to win the Legends division next year?

    Real good stuff.

I think we need to. Otherwise we're looking at an 8/9 seed...

Don't think it needs to be a run to the championship, but definitely have to beat Ohio State to avoid the sucky 8/9 line. I'd much prefer a 10 over that.

Lunardi had us on the 8/9 line, facing Kansas, last week.

Let's say hypothetically, Purdue runs the table and wins this tournament. What's the highest seed they could get? I'm thinking a 5 seed.

Hypothetically, that'd mean neutral floor wins over Ohio State, Michigan probably (which I don't think is unlikely at all, I might favor us in that), and one of MSU/Wisco/IU. I could see Purdue beating Wisconsin, but IU and State are pretty much the definition of a matchup nightmare. Beating any conference team a 3rd time is tough I guess, but I just can't see it.

But if it did happen, I could see a 5 seed. That'd be a 24-11 (13-8) record in the "best conference in America." It'd set up a fairly prime 12 over 5 upset, but yeah, they'd be looking at probably a 5 seed.

I don't see it, but if Matt Painter gets 24 wins out of this roster, I don't give a damn about the recruiting gripes, that's stellar. I already think he's done a pretty good job in season, but that'd just be incredible.

Hypothetically, 9 seed...matchup with KY in second round...Carroll goes for 25 and 15 against Davis

25 and 15 are probably pretty close to his season totals. I think Sandi needs to play. I don't hate Carroll but he just doesn't give us much down there.

Purdue really, really, really tried to give that game away. Thank God for Lewis Jackson.

Yep, and he not only got a game called by Marv Albert, but one in which he fawned all over him. Something to show the grandkids.

Advanced further than Duke. Don't get that every year. How's Kansas? They are supposed to be relatively weak this year. Anyone got a scouting report on them?
