Who did you guys finished 2nd to previously? If you're talking about Harris, he was down to MSU and IU.

Whatever, onto the next one. Hope he doesn't go for a different 2013 kid just to do it, would probably rather just bank the scholarship.

I'm pretty sure the link to Rabjohns quote from Harris' H.S. coach is in here somewhere.

Point being that it really sucks to lose out on players that can really help your team when its so close.

And I agree, unless there is someone out there who can really help our team we might as well just hold on to the scholarship.

Mich St is #9, we're not great, and we had travel issues, but that was still terrible.

they just honestly aren't very good. Hummel looked solid in the non-con but he's seemingly hit a wall, don't know if it's the knee or he's just not in shape for the long haul after missing so much time. Jackson's got more heart in his little finger than I have in my whole body but his back is just wrecked, every game he's eventually on the sideline just in agony. Take them away and honestly look what we've got, there's not one consistent scoring option.

We were tied for first in the Big10 before this game, I hope that we can put enough of a season together to make it into the tourney but you just never know.

I feel bad for Hummel. The guy just looks like a shell of what he used to be.

Nope. All I am really hoping for is to make the tourney at this point.

They need to beat OSU, get to 20 wins and probably win a few in the Big10 tourney to get in. Pathetic season really.

I have no faith in making the tourney. I don't care if they win it, Hummel's career ending in the NIT is pathetic.

Well, looking at our schedule, here's what I see:

    - Home against Northwestern, Nebraska, and Penn State. All must wins, period.
    - At Illinois. Tough, but we really need it.
    - Home against MSU and at OSU, Michigan, and Indiana. We absolutely need to win one of these games as a late "signature" win.
    - And finally, we need to win our first tourney game. If we don't, we're toast.

I haven't been paying much attention to college basketball at large (stupid Pacers), but my impression is there hasn't been much mid-major talk. That could help us.

But hey, if we don't make the NCAA's, maybe we can have some success in the NIT. It would be nice for our Seniors to have something positive to look back on for their final year, and lord knows our underclassmen need as much experience as they can get.

But hey, if not at least the apocalypse will save us from next season.

Obviously from what I just posted, I disagree. I'd rather win the NIT than get blown out in our first tourney game and be Exhibit A why the BigTen gets too many teams in.

I wish there was some prominent public figure who could call out B1G officiating for what it is, just so Delaney would be forced to respond. It's embarrassing. Every game is the same: no calls in the first half, ticky-tack calls in the second. It's so predictable in its awfulness...I don't even know how I can respond besides shaking my head and laughing.

Someone needs to call out B1G officiating in an arena where it gets some attention. And Delaney needs to respond accordingly. It won't happen, but I can always dream.

When are people going to start criticizing Painter for the fact that pretty much no one on the team has shown improvement? I mean Lewis Jackson seems like pretty much the exact same guy he was 2 years ago.

LewJack has actually improved his shot (jump & FT)...[+ he is injured to $#!+]

...Byrd, Smith, Hart, Carroll, Barlow, Marciucus, though...no change...

Definitely, of course it helped we beat em w/o Reggie Johnson, but it'll still help the RPI.

I think Ryne has gotten better, Hart has been hurt, Barlow is better this year I think, and Macius is a little better too (although that doesn't say a lot.)

I agree that no one has seen a huge improvement though.
