Default Testing a new feature: "The Digest"

As you can see on the top left, something new has arrived.

I called it "The Digest" for no other reason than it sounded good and it roughly fits what this is.

Just move the mouse over the bar to have quick, easy access to player bios, schedules, standings, scoreboards, and links to other NBA sites.

It works properly with Opera aswell, i'm impressed. Most of those dynamic menus use IE specific code. Can you give me a link to the menu's website Hicks?

I love it already. Heck I can get rid of half of my favorites because of that thing.

Works fine for me. (Linux - Fedore Core 1 with 2.6 Kernel. Mozilla 1.4.1)

I'm not usually fond of floaty things like that, but I don't mind this.

If I postion the little floating box just right (over Ragner's avatar), I can understand why Tinsley kept throwing the ball away yesterday. It makes quite a blindfold!
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Nice work Hicks. Just another great feature. When I go over to the IS board to lurk its like playing with the Atari pong game.

I love it Hicks! Looks very professional and it makes finding stuff easier. Keep up the good work!

Why is nobody writing articles anymore btw? I actually enjoyed them.

As for the articles, Mourning, I think you'd have to ask the writers because I'm honestly not sure.

I'd bet, however, that if we were to be having a rockier season than we are, there would be more contraversey and thus more to talk about.

We didn't abandon the articles consciously. Hopefully there will be more later on.

BTW, I'm posting this on an iMac on campus, and they suck at displaying this forum. DREADFUL. Everything's stretched out strangley or spaced wrong, and The Digest doesn't glow and look funny. Stupid mac.

    Very nice, Hicks!

Now nobody will have an excuse for misinformed Pacers posts. It's all right there in the corner.

    I like it.

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

If I can figure out how, one change I will make is to make whatever you click on show up in a new window instead of taking you away from the forum.

And if there's any other quick links about the Pacers you think I've missed, let me know and I can add it.

    Quick OT about browsers...

Is anyone using the new FireFox yet? I can't seem to find the rpms.

Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

I just downloaded it following the link you posted.

Looks cool. They've moved the tabs from the bottom to the top, and they added Mouse3 scrolling!! (When you click the scroller the little white circle with the black up and down arrows shows up, just like in IE. That was the one feature I was really missing when I tried Mozilla before. Nice!

Now if I could just convince this thing that I don't have to have all my imported IE's switched from where they're supposed to be, to alphabetical order.
