According to an interview with two sources who were present that night, Braylon Edwards started the altercation that led to the arrests of two of his cousins for stabbing bouncers at the club. Edwards reportedly started a fight with a club bus boy.

Aug 3, 2011 - What was originally reported as an altercation involving two of Braylon Edwards' associates in a Birmingham, Michigan bar late Sunday night, early Monday morning, is now believed to have been started by Edwards himself.

SB Nation Arizona spoke with two employees of the bar who were present during the fight but asked to remain anonymous due to a police request that witnesses not talk about the incident.

According to the sources, the original altercation started between Edwards' group of about 20 friends and about eight to 10 "known guys" from Detroit who frequent South Bar in Birmingham, a wealthy suburb of The Motor City.

Former NBA player and ESPN analyst Jalen Rose was reported to be part of Edwards' group and while described as drunk, he apparently attempted to hold Edwards back and keep him from fighting.

The original altercation was said to have started when someone from Edwards' group "threw up" in the booth area of the group from Detroit.

Both sides came together but security at the club was able to separate the two sides before anything more happened. The group from Detroit agreed to leave out of respect to the establishment.

Edwards, however, was not ready to let the matter die.

According to both sources, he mistook a bus boy only identified as "Dave" for a bouncer and charged into the kitchen after him. Edwards reportedly tackled Dave (described as a big guy who looks like a linebacker) and the two exchanged blows before they were separated.

While Edwards and Dave were fighting, two of Edwards' cousins rushed into the kitchen. One produced a knife that he had been carrying and stabbed a bouncer in his back and his hand. The other grabbed a fork and stabbed a different bouncer in his neck and his head. These two cousins were arrested by police that night.

The bus boy who was reportedly assaulted by Edwards is said to be filing a report with the Birmingham Police Department, charging Edwards for assaulting him.

According to a story in the Detroit Free Press, the two arrested were Tre Lenard Wright, 19, of Detroit and his older brother, Edmund Jerrell Wright, 22, of Lathrup Village.

Requests for comment from the Birmingham Police Department have not yet been answered.

Edwards is on probation for a drunk driving conviction in New York. The free agent wide receiver is said to be a target for the Arizona Cardinals.

What in the world is happening to him? He's getting involved in some bad ****.

I don't remember Jalen being a bad guy during his career.

So he refrained from fighting and attempted to keep others in line. Thus doing nothing wrong, and we still want to throw dirt on him? Come on now people!
Yay, I don't know if we're going back to the play-offs!

Cool. I nearly stubbed my toe today too. As far as I am concerned, that fact is only slightly less newsworthy than Jalen Rose...not fighting.

    Normally you'd have a point

BUT days before he was sentenced to 20 days in jail and then shortly after got caught speeding

Now he's out with Braylon's dumbass and being even around this sort of thing

I just think its a bad look for him after all that happened.

    Gangsta.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

TBH I agree that he should absolutely get criticism for this. I think it's fair to judge those by the company that they choose to keep. Going out to clubs with Braylon Edwards is just asking for trouble.

Not to mention that I absolutely hate Rose as an analyst. I respected the hell out of him as a player, but is there anyone with more wooden, lifeless delivery right now than Jalen Rose? And good luck getting any sort of unique opinion out of the guy.

In that case, we'll just agree to disagree. However if you limit yourself to judging others by the company they have, you might very well be excluding some very good and nice people too. I'll continue to take the good over the bad that might come with judging everybody seperately. Just my

    Hardly.

Stabbed with a spork? Now you've got some Lock, Stock caliber violence.

I had the same reaction when I read this:

When this third individual did venture outside, he stayed behind the compoundís walls. Some analysts speculated that the third man was bin Laden, and the agency dubbed him the Pacer.
