Default Reports: Colts free agent LB Clint Session signs with Jaguars

Colts free agent linebacker Clint Session has signed a 5-year contract worth $30 million with the Jacksonville Jaguars according to NFL.com reporter Jason La Canfora.

The Florida Times-Union reported last night the Jags were in negioations with Session.

"They love him, and he would love to be a part of them, and we're trying to make that love affair happen," his agent Harold Lewis said.

Session only played in 5 games for the Colts last season due to and elbow injury. He recorded 31 solo tackles and 1 sack.

The Colts selected Session in the fourth round of the 2007 draft.

Seriously, is the cap actually $220 million or something. Teams are throwing cash around like crazy.

just look at the guarantees that's what most of the players get. Plus they can use a lot of money for signing bonus and it doesn't go against the cap.

For every team but the Colts. Or so it seems.

Basically we're held hostage until Manning figures out what the hell he wants to do. Then we'll have MAYBE a slight bit of money left if we're lucky. :/

The Colts have already re-signed Bullit and Vinatieri. Irsay already knew a ballpark figure he was going to hand out to Peyton.

The Colts aren't ever active in FA, so let's not pretend like Peyton is the reason they aren't this year.

    Huh?

The signing bonus goes against the cap more than the rest of the money does. It's GUARANTEED to go against the cap at some point, it's just a matter of when. Unless that changed in the new CBA, which would negate the point of the salary cap.

If this is the kind of money it takes to sign an average player I'm more than happy we're sitting out free agency as usual.

Its very simple if they Colts wanted Session they would've kept him for whatever reason they felt that he wasn't needed. I hate that he went to a rival but I'm also glad we didn't pay that much either.

Too rich for my blood for an average at best LB.

Wow that is a lot of money for Sessions. I would have liked to see the Colts re-sign him but not at that price.

I'm prettt sure we'll find a undersized linebacker with good speed and tackling, who gets eaten up by blocks, for about 25 million cheaper.

I don't mind Conner. He isn't a Pro Bowl caliber LB but he should be solid.

Shoot forget free agency... seems like there is a big market in trades... can we get one of those... would have been more than happy giving up a 5th for Albert.. what is the worst that can happen in one year...?

I know what the best could be though....... solidify the front line...
    Why so SERIOUS
