    Default Dream FA Signings

I know that Polian has said that the Colts aren't looking to bring in any veteran free agents this summer but if we could just bring in 1 FA without worrying about money who would you like...?

Personally I think Antonio Cromartie would escalate our team a bunch... He makes things happen in both zone and man, has hands like glue, and is a beast on special teams, plus Peyton wouldn't have to worry about going against him in the playoffs.

    One can only dream...

I would imagine with his injury history it might not take much to get Gaither. He'd add depth at tackle until our rooks can play. Perhaps start the year at Left and then shift to RT.

I'd like Cromartie, but corner isn't a major need.

Mebane at DT would be ideal. Re-sign Johnson to play on the other side.

lol he makes zero sense for the Colts or the Bears it would be like Hayesworth in Washington. Why the do u put a shut down corner in a cover 2 system makes 0 sense. You have to get personal that fits in your system it would be a waste of his talents and your money to play in a cover 2 IMO.

I will say that I'd prefer to have man coverage. I've never been a fan of cover 2.

Yeah Asomugha doesn't make sense for the Colts. Unless they want to neglect bigger needs and just sign Asomugha to prevent him from going to the Jets or Texans.

I would LOVE to see the Colts sign Brandon Mebane. As always they need could really use an upgrade at DT. I think Polian would be surprised at how much better the rest of the defense would look if he just went and got a DT like Mebane or a simple upgrade over the DTs on the roster now.

Yeah... It works when our offense is on, but when it is off thats when it hurts... bigtime.... aka The playoffs...

NOT A THING... so surprised that they were able to get so much in return for him... basically a 1st(Cromartie) and a 2nd....

I felt the biggest thing they did with this trade was to solidify Larry Fitzgerald coming back..

    Texan up for trade
    4:15
    PM ET
    Amobi Okoye | Texans

Running a 4-3 defense? Looking for a tackle? ESPN's John Clayton says to give the Houston Texans a call.

"Because the Houston Texans switched out of a 4-3 defense to a 3-4, former first-round pick Amobi Okoye has been given permission to shop his name in a trade, a source said," Clayton writes.

"Okoye's best position is defensive tackle in a 4-3, and his talents don't translate as well to an end in a 3-4 scheme. Okoye and wide receiver David Anderson are both on the trade block. At 24, Okoye is a young defensive tackle that might interest teams interested in 4-3 help."

    - Vince Verhei
Didnt want to make this a new thread but dude is only 24 and would be good in our system I think... I wouldn't mind grabbing him for like a 3rd next year... and he wouldn't add too much to the cap problem...

I think this would be a positive move for our team....and we wouldn't have to even worry about free agency... We could even throw in Gonzales and give a 4th instead of a 3rd.. Sign me up...

I haven't really paid attention to Okoye. Would he be a big upgrade over the current DTs or does he just have the potential to?

I don't think the chances are good of him being traded to Indy. If he can have any type of positive impact I don't see the Texans trading him to the Colts.

He would be a upgrade I think coming out of college he benched 225 like 29 times.. he runs a 4.85 40(even thought is 10 and 20 splits are more meaningful) and he has a good motor, he has had to learn something form Mario Williams in their time together... He is the youngest person to ever play in the NFL also... Kid is smart as well...

I think he is better than all of the DT's we have on our team currently... but yeah idk... I would love this trade but have a feeling the Colts won't try to do any trades or signings...

Really I am just ready for some FOOTBALL

lol Thanks... has it never been done that a team would trade within its own division?

on a side note... the Colts always seem to find sub 4.4 receivers as UDFA's just added another in Larrone Moore....

I am always surprised by what a lot of our undrafted free agent do during the year... I really hope Garcon and White improve... so then we can trade away Gonzales... especially if we hit it big with the udfa market... we seem to always keep one WR each year, and each year tend to be productive....

What about ty warren and marcus stroud as our DL in the middle... Pats released them. Just throwing it out there dont know how they did last year just remembered stroud from jacksonville

Assuming his legs are healthy and he wants to play, Tommie Harris
would be an interesting addition to the DT crew.

Eagles traded McNabb to the Redskins and the Pats traded Drew Bledsoe to the Bills.

Tommie Harris knee is he will never be the same again. He is purely a 3rd down DT nothing more possibly less. He doesn't practice and doesn't play hard. It is a shame trust me if he still had it the Bears would pay him. Im glad we kept Anthony Adams he is the better player at this point in time.

However if i am the Colts i would target Shaun Cody. Really the perfect fit at DT a run stopper and something the Colts really need

and Brandon Mebane is staying in seattle

Eagles traded McNabb because they knew he was washed up. They completely ripped off the Skins. Pats had that Tom Brady guy to play instead of Bledsoe, whatever happened to him anyway?

If Chris Polian gets the Texans to help their biggest rivals' run D for a 3rd rounder, I'll nominate him for GM of the year.

Rich get richer: Former Packers DT Cullen Jenkins reached agreement with the Eagles on a five year, $25 million deal.

my god this is getting unfair. Jenkings was the guy the Colts should of targeted IMO.

I know but I was just giving examples that yes teams trade within the division whether they were good trades was another story.

Yeah me too... I wish the Colts would have taken a chance on him... oh well... can't win them all or any I guess, lol

Anyone heard any word on what Moss is asking for as far as contracts..?

PS... Colts only saved 1 million with cutting Hayden... and they still have 8 million towards the cap for him, why not just re structure his contract...?
