Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

It kinda looks like the square and compass at a glance. I just left the George Washington Masonic National Memorial not long ago. Odd timing.

I guess Iverson is a communist now, or just trying to stir up trouble.

I hope he does come back. One of my favorite players ever and I'm sure he can help out a good team if he can keep his ego in check.

    Is that even possible?

I'm not sure, that's why I said "if." When I watch him interviewed he comes across as one of the deepest, most introspective, humane athletes I've ever seen. For whatever reason he can't always carry that with him when he deals with teammates and coaches.

One of my last summer predictions (between friends and family) was that Iverson was going to join the Heat. Maybe I was just a year (or 2) off.

I'd prefer that he just go away. I've had enough of him. Talented - yes. Obnoxious / annoying / disruptive - yes.

And doesn't Miami have enough trouble already with only 1 ball for 2 1/2 egos ?? Adding Iverson would just compound the problem.

I don't see the Miami fit. But a Boston fit, if he works hard and accepts the bench - sure.

Iverson in Russia or Miami is fine with me. He will help both of them lose as he always has done.

At one time he was an entertaining offensive player. He's too old at this point to be very effective and he's just getting older. Honestly, Pat Riley is not dumb enough to sign a proven loser...particularly one well past his prime and with an attitude to boot.

Edit: Just wiki'ed him. He's apparently crashing and burning pretty quickly:

In a Philadelphia Inquirer column published March 7, 2010, Stephen A. Smith wrote that according to "numerous NBA sources", Iverson would "either drink himself into oblivion or gamble his life away", and that Iverson had already been banned from casinos in Detroit and Atlantic City. Smith also wrote that Tawanna, his wife of eight years, had separated from him and filed for divorce, seeking custody of their five children, as well as child support and alimony payments.[66]
In November 2010, Kate Fagan, a 76ers beat writer for the Inquirer reported that Iverson was "broke" and heavily in debt, "by all accounts except his own", and that a member of Iverson's family had previously contacted NBA teams about a contract for him, as he would not be able to pay that person without a contract.

In an era of Ron Ron and Z-Bo becoming Santa's little helpers.... I think we can at least imagine Iverson turning the corner after two humbling years.

And if there's no mind change - there's no comeback. It's a pointless speculation either way.

In that case, I'm all for him joining the Heat!

Allen turned a corner awhile ago...but he backslides. Anyway, the comparisons are not valid. Ron and Z-Bo are both younger and their games help teams win. Allen's game has always been too much one-on-one to maximize what his talents bring to a team. While he has been spectacular in the past, what he gives...which has been considerable...is at least partially given back due to his style.

But the problem with a turnaround at this point with Allen Iverson is his age. The fact he didn't play in the NBA last year probably hurts him. I suppose there's a chance he has a year or two of being a decent off the bench scorer, but that's only if everything falls in place. In any event, Miami already has Bibby for that type of role.

It's hard to argue about his current talent level without seeing him play for a long time. It's all really pointless speculation at this point. If he still has anything left - close to what he had in Memphis - he could be a bench spark. If not... well, not. WTB some way to know without actual workouts. The last thing I saw was his last days in the NBA, and back then he still had the talent to be a bench specialist.

Btw, I don't agree with the whole "Z-Bo's game used to help his teams win in the past" thing, but that's off topic.

Btw - those "comparisons" - not really comparisons, rather an illustration that it's silly to say mental change can't happen. I think it can happen at 30 or 36, age has little to do with it.
I didn't imply talent or play style.
