Thread: What teams are the winners/losers of this draft?

I really like what the Jazz did. Kanter and Favors could be one heck of a 4-5 combo within a few years. I really like Alec Burks too. He can pass the ball (along with Gordon) really well for a wing player. I think they did great in this draft.

I like what the Wizards did. I don't know a lot about Vesely but i'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he turns out to be a pretty good player. I really like Chris Singleton too. These guys will improve the defense. Getting Shelvin Mack in the second round was good too. I think he will be excellent off the bench as a combo guard.

I won't say a lot about this but I think the Pacers are winners. Turning the 15th pick into George Hill? I like it, a lot.

I love what the Trailblazers did. They turned Andre Miller and Rudy Fernandez into Raymond Felton and Jordan Hamilton. I love Raymond Felton on that team. I think he is a great fit. Hamilton is not a bad prospect to get at the end of the first round in any draft and they also drafted Nolan Smith who should be good off the bench.

I don't believe in Jimmer, at least not as a lottery pick. However I think that playing with a guard like Tyreke Evans is a great fit for him.

Cleveland are the losers hands down, they got a guy that would be the next Mike Conley Jr and some undersize PF, meh.

The teams that I am most worried about are the Bobcats and the Cavs. No need to call them losers yet, but both clubs need their picks to turn into solid starters, if not more. Charlotte took two big risks in my opinion.

I thought they had a bad night myself.

I would have went Derrick Williams and Brandon Knight at 1 and 4.

Knight could learn from Baron Davis for a year. Williams is the ROY on that team playing 35 minutes a night and being the primary offensive weapon.

couldn't agree more. how exactly did Irving show that he is better than Knight. Whenever i watched UK, Knight seemed to be doing big things. i predict this draft will really damage the Cavs once its proven Knight > Irving.

I think Cleveland is the big loser, but it isn't entirely their fault. I see Irving as a fringe All-Star and at Tristan Thompson peaking, if he develops offensively, as a bigger Arron Afflalo. So they probably got two pretty solid starters in the draft, but oftentimes you can get two perennial All-Stars with 1 and 4. This may actually serve them well if they get a really good pick next year, though. It is really important to not view the draft in isolation.

Cleveland are LOSERS and Trail Blazers are WINNNERS!!!!!!! New Jersey also got some pieces to help them improve Marshawn Brooks can REALLY SCORE and Jordan Willaims from Maryland is a great rebounder and will help New Jersey as well. Lastley the Timberwolves somehow have 20 picks every draft so of course they did well.

It is kind of their fault because they bought the hype of Kyrie Irving. Brandon knight is just as good from what I've seen. If you go with Williams then Knight you have 2 guys that might be something. Instead of just Kyrie Irving that might be great but might not be.

I was shocked when the Thunder took him.

I know they liked him during workouts, but they already have Maynor backing up Westbrook.

he never worked out for them I wasn't surprised i knew he had a first round promise. He will be a great pg in 5 years if they let him develop.

Every story i have read says that this pick was as much about not having to pay to resign Maynor as much as being about Jackson. They ahve to save their bucks for the big players.

I'll say that the Pacers are definitely winners obviously and I'd say that the Spurs are as well even though they had to give up their best youthful player in George Hill. We would have been big-time winners with Kawhi Leonard as he fell to us and he was supposed to be the 6th or 7th pick--therefore the Spurs win because they wound up with an exceptional talent that has some great potential. We won because we got an already-proven player that is a loved in his hometown here in Indy, he's a heck of a player on both ends of the court, and he will fit in great with the other good guys we have for the community. This just helps our franchise's future in trying to get that championship trophy to this city.
