The Rules of Pacers Digest

Hello everyone,

Whether your are a long standing forum member or whether you have just registered today, it's a good idea to read and review the rules below so that you have a very good idea of what to expect when you come to Pacers Digest.

A quick note to new members: Your posts will not immediately show up when you make them. An administrator has to approve at least your first post before the forum software will later upgrade your account to the status of a fully-registered member. This usually happens within a couple of hours or so after your post(s) is/are approved, so you may need to be a little patient at first.

Why do we do this? So that it's more difficult for spammers (be they human or robot) to post, and so users who are banned cannot immediately re-register and start dousing people with verbal flames.

Below are the rules of Pacers Digest. After you have read them, you will have a very good sense of where we are coming from, what we expect, what we don't want to see, and how we react to things.

Rule #1

Pacers Digest is intended to be a place to discuss basketball without having to deal with the kinds of behaviors or attitudes that distract people from sticking with the discussion of the topics at hand. These unwanted distractions can come in many forms, and admittedly it can sometimes be tricky to pin down each and every kind that can rear its ugly head, but we feel that the following examples and explanations cover at least a good portion of that ground and should at least give people a pretty good idea of the kinds of things we actively discourage:

"Anyone who __________ is a liar / a fool / an idiot / a blind homer / has their head buried in the sand / a blind hater / doesn't know basketball / doesn't watch the games"

"People with intelligence will agree with me when I say that __________"

"Only stupid people think / believe / do ___________"

"I can't wait to hear something from PosterX when he/she sees that **insert a given incident or current event that will have probably upset or disappointed PosterX here**"

"He/she is just delusional"

"This thread is stupid / worthless / embarrassing"

"I'm going to take a moment to point and / laugh at PosterX / GroupOfPeopleY who thought / believed *insert though/belief here*"

"Remember when PosterX said OldCommentY that no longer looks good? "

In general, if a comment goes from purely on topic to something 'ad hominem' (personal jabs, personal shots, attacks, flames, however you want to call it, towards a person, or a group of people, or a given city/state/country of people), those are most likely going to be found intolerable.

We also dissuade passive aggressive behavior. This can be various things, but common examples include statements that are basically meant to imply someone is either stupid or otherwise incapable of holding a rational conversation. This can include (but is not limited to) laughing at someone's conclusions rather than offering an honest rebuttal, asking people what game they were watching, or another common problem is Poster X will say "that player isn't that bad" and then Poster Y will say something akin to "LOL you think that player is good". We're not going to tolerate those kinds of comments out of respect for the community at large and for the sake of trying to just have an honest conversation.

Now, does the above cover absolutely every single kind of distraction that is unwanted? Probably not, but you should by now have a good idea of the general types of things we will be discouraging. The above examples are meant to give you a good feel for / idea of what we're looking for. If something new or different than the above happens to come along and results in the same problem (that being, any other attitude or behavior that ultimately distracts from actually just discussing the topic at hand, or that is otherwise disrespectful to other posters), we can and we will take action to curb this as well, so please don't take this to mean that if you managed to technically avoid saying something exactly like one of the above examples that you are then somehow off the hook.

That all having been said, our goal is to do so in a generally kind and respectful way, and that doesn't mean the moment we see something we don't like that somebody is going to be suspended or banned, either. It just means that at the very least we will probably say something about it, quite possibly snipping out the distracting parts of the post in question while leaving alone the parts that are actually just discussing the topics, and in the event of a repeating or excessive problem, then we will start issuing infractions to try to further discourage further repeat problems, and if it just never seems to improve, then finally suspensions or bans will come into play. We would prefer it never went that far, and most of the time for most of our posters, it won't ever have to.

A slip up every once and a while is pretty normal, but, again, when it becomes repetitive or excessive, something will be done. Something occasional is probably going to be let go (within reason), but when it starts to become habitual or otherwise a pattern, odds are very good that we will step in.

There's always a small minority that like to push people's buttons and/or test their own boundaries with regards to the administrators, and in the case of someone acting like that, please be aware that this is not a court of law, but a private website run by people who are simply trying to do the right thing as they see it. If we feel that you are a special case that needs to be dealt with in an exceptional way because your behavior isn't explicitly mirroring one of our above examples of what we generally discourage, we can and we will take atypical action to prevent this from continuing if you are not cooperative with us.

Also please be aware that you will not be given a pass simply by claiming that you were 'only joking,' because quite honestly, when someone really is just joking, for one thing most people tend to pick up on the joke, including the person or group that is the target of the joke, and for another thing, in the event where an honest joke gets taken seriously and it upsets or angers someone, the person who is truly 'only joking' will quite commonly go out of his / her way to apologize and will try to mend fences. People who are dishonest about their statements being 'jokes' do not do so, and in turn that becomes a clear sign of what is really going on. It's nothing new.

In any case, quite frankly, the overall quality and health of the entire forum's community is more important than any one troublesome user will ever be, regardless of exactly how a problem is exhibiting itself, and if it comes down to us having to make a choice between you versus the greater health and happiness of the entire community, the community of this forum will win every time.

Lastly, there are also some posters, who are generally great contributors and do not otherwise cause any problems, who sometimes feel it's their place to provoke or to otherwise 'mess with' that small minority of people described in the last paragraph, and while we possibly might understand why you might feel you WANT to do something like that, the truth is we can't actually tolerate that kind of behavior from you any more than we can tolerate the behavior from them. So if we feel that you are trying to provoke those other posters into doing or saying something that will get themselves into trouble, then we will start to view you as a problem as well, because of the same reason as before: The overall health of the forum comes first, and trying to stir the pot with someone like that doesn't help, it just makes it worse. Some will simply disagree with this philosophy, but if so, then so be it because ultimately we have to do what we think is best so long as it's up to us.

If you see a problem that we haven't addressed, the best and most appropriate course for a forum member to take here is to look over to the left of the post in question. See underneath that poster's name, avatar, and other info, down where there's a little triangle with an exclamation point (!) in it? Click that. That allows you to report the post to the admins so we can definitely notice it and give it a look to see what we feel we should do about it. Beyond that, obviously it's human nature sometimes to want to speak up to the poster in question who has bothered you, but we would ask that you try to refrain from doing so because quite often what happens is two or more posters all start going back and forth about the original offending post, and suddenly the entire thread is off topic or otherwise derailed. So while the urge to police it yourself is understandable, it's best to just report it to us and let us handle it. Thank you!

All of the above is going to be subject to a case by case basis, but generally and broadly speaking, this should give everyone a pretty good idea of how things will typically / most often be handled.

Rule #2

If the actions of an administrator inspire you to make a comment, criticism, or express a concern about it, there is a wrong place and a couple of right places to do so.

The wrong place is to do so in the original thread in which the administrator took action. For example, if a post gets an infraction, or a post gets deleted, or a comment within a larger post gets clipped out, in a thread discussing Paul George, the wrong thing to do is to distract from the discussion of Paul George by adding your off topic thoughts on what the administrator did.

The right places to do so are:

A) Start a thread about the specific incident you want to talk about on the Feedback board. This way you are able to express yourself in an area that doesn't throw another thread off topic, and this way others can add their two cents as well if they wish, and additionally if there's something that needs to be said by the administrators, that is where they will respond to it.

B) Send a private message to the administrators, and they can respond to you that way.

If this is done the wrong way, those comments will be deleted, and if it's a repeating problem then it may also receive an infraction as well.

Rule #3

If a poster is bothering you, and an administrator has not or will not deal with that poster to the extent that you would prefer, you have a powerful tool at your disposal, one that has recently been upgraded and is now better than ever: The ability to ignore a user.

When you ignore a user, you will unfortunately still see some hints of their existence (nothing we can do about that), however, it does the following key things:

A) Any post they make will be completely invisible as you scroll through a thread.

B) The new addition to this feature: If someone QUOTES a user you are ignoring, you do not have to read who it was, or what that poster said, unless you go out of your way to click on a link to find out who it is and what they said.

To utilize this feature, from any page on Pacers Digest, scroll to the top of the page, look to the top right where it says 'Settings' and click that. From the settings page, look to the left side of the page where it says 'My Settings', and look down from there until you see 'Edit Ignore List' and click that. From here, it will say 'Add a Member to Your List...' Beneath that, click in the text box to the right of 'User Name', type in or copy & paste the username of the poster you are ignoring, and once their name is in the box, look over to the far right and click the 'Okay' button. All done!

Rule #4

Regarding infractions, currently they carry a value of one point each, and that point will expire in 31 days. If at any point a poster is carrying three points at the same time, that poster will be suspended until the oldest of the three points expires.

Rule #5

When you share or paste content or articles from another website, you must include the URL/link back to where you found it, who wrote it, and what website it's from. Said content will be removed if this doesn't happen.

An example:

If I copy and paste an article from the Indianapolis Star website, I would post something like this:

http://www.linktothearticlegoeshere.com/article
Title of the Article
Author's Name
Indianapolis Star

Rule #6

We cannot tolerate illegal videos on Pacers Digest. This means do not share any links to them, do not mention any websites that host them or link to them, do not describe how to find them in any way, and do not ask about them. Posts doing anything of the sort will be removed, the offenders will be contacted privately, and if the problem becomes habitual, you will be suspended, and if it still persists, you will probably be banned.

The legal means of watching or listening to NBA games are NBA League Pass Broadband (for US, or for International; both cost money) and NBA Audio League Pass (which is free). Look for them on NBA.com.

Rule #7

Provocative statements in a signature, or as an avatar, or as the 'tagline' beneath a poster's username (where it says 'Member' or 'Administrator' by default, if it is not altered) are an unwanted distraction that will more than likely be removed on sight. There can be shades of gray to this, but in general this could be something political or religious that is likely going to provoke or upset people, or otherwise something that is mean-spirited at the expense of a poster, a group of people, or a population.

It may or may not go without saying, but this goes for threads and posts as well, particularly when it's not made on the off-topic board (Market Square).

We do make exceptions if we feel the content is both innocuous and unlikely to cause social problems on the forum (such as wishing someone a Merry Christmas or a Happy Easter), and we also also make exceptions if such topics come up with regards to a sports figure (such as the Lance Stephenson situation bringing up discussions of domestic abuse and the law, or when Jason Collins came out as gay and how that lead to some discussion about gay rights).

However, once the discussion seems to be more/mostly about the political issues instead of the sports figure or his specific situation, the thread is usually closed.

Rule #8

We prefer self-restraint and/or modesty when making jokes or off topic comments in a sports discussion thread. They can be fun, but sometimes they derail or distract from a topic, and we don't want to see that happen. If we feel it is a problem, we will either delete or move those posts from the thread.

Rule #9

Generally speaking, we try to be a "PG-13" rated board, and we don't want to see sexual content or similarly suggestive content. Vulgarity is a more muddled issue, though again we prefer things to lean more towards "PG-13" than "R". If we feel things have gone too far, we will step in.

Rule #10

We like small signatures, not big signatures. The bigger the signature, the more likely it is an annoying or distracting signature.

Rule #11

Do not advertise anything without talking about it with the administrators first. This includes advertising with your signature, with your avatar, through private messaging, and/or by making a thread or post.

If you miss the nightly matches of NASL check out IPL. Season 2 just kicked off last night. They air 5 nights a week I think. They have great production and some of the best players from NA and EU.

        Re: Official StarCraft 2 Thread

So there is a ton of stuff going on in the sc2 world right now. First I will start with the tournaments.

Last night in GSTL we witnessed history. I stayed up until 4:30 am watching FXO.QXC (my favorite player) all kill team IM. This is their first win in GSTL (and this was their last chance this season). This is also the first time an foreigner has all killed a Korean team in sc2. It was truly amazing to watch. It also came one night after oGs used Liquid'Huk as their ace against Prime and he went 2-0 winning oGs the match. Foreigners are on a 6-0 run in the GSTL right now, pretty awesome stuff.

IPL is still going strong. Nothing too major yet. I don't find IPL as entertaining as other tournaments, but I did notice Kiwikaki is out of the tournament already and its double elimination. He is in a slump right now, but that could be because he was in the World Series of Poker last weekend. He finished like 210th and walked away with $47k I believe. Not too bad. He was even on ESPN2 last Friday night.

GSL Code A finals had Puzzle taking down Tassadar 4-2 in a quick PvP series. I missed the games, but heard it was a lot of 4gates.

Code S is at the semifinals stage. Returning champ Nestea will be facing Hong Un (who upset MC 3-1) and Losira will be playing against Byun (who has beat sC, Nada, MVP along the way). I'm predicting a Nestea vs Byun finals.

MLG Anaheim is next week. The entire player list was released and holy **** it is stacked. Day9 and djWHEAT will be announcing on the red stream while Mr. Bitter and Husky will be on the blue stream. Here is the player list, definitely check it out:
        http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/new...l-player-list/

Ok, now to all the damn player movement. We will start out with the biggest shocker. TSL Puma, the NASL Champion, has left TSL and will be signing with EG! It isn't finalized, but its gonna happen. There is a whole lot of drama going on with this, but I really don't feel like getting into it as I feel like its really pointless drama.

Actually, this might be the biggest shocker. FXO has acquired the Korean team fOu. While in Korea, FXO and fOu have become good friends. fOu was having some financial troubles as sponsors in Korea are not that great and they approached FXO to see if they were interested. And now fOu is FXO. So FXO has a team house in Korea and Malaysia. They are setting themselves up very, very well.

Sheth has parted ways with FXO. Not a big surprise as he didn't return to Korea with the rest of FXO and doesn't like the team house style.

Complexity has set up a partnership with Korean team MVP where MVP players will sport Complexity jersey's at foreign events and have complexity patches at Korean events in return for helping their players travel to foreign events. Complexity players also have the opportunity to go over to train in the MVP house in Korea too.

oGs and SK gaming reached a similar deal as they will be supporting oGs Nada and MC in foreign events.

And last but not least, Dignitas has signed the Korean player TanDongHo (formerly on Zenex) as he will be studying abroad in Manchester.

I think I got it all. Pretty much a ton of Korean to Foreigner teams/shared deals went down recently. Korean players are pulling away in terms of skill, but the Korean scene is lacking in money as BroodWar still dominates over there. While in the foreign scene, there is a lot of money flying around. I expect even more of this to happen.

Oh and in the starcraft scene foreigners means anyone outside of Korea as they are the mecca of esports.

mlg anaheim is rocking so far, i love how huk has become very consistent.

DRG showing how beastly he is, even though he's only in code B.

sheth joining TL is big news obviously.

also, BOXER 5-0 in pool player for the win... good to know the emperor can still kick some ***.

anaheim's continuing on the trend from columbus where we are seeing the korean-foreigner skill gap continue to widen.

              Re: Official StarCraft 2 Thread

Damn, totally missed your posts in here Frostwolf. I've been slacking on this thread lately.

Latency from Korea to NA isn't great thats for sure. Its playable, but not enjoyable from what I've heard. I mean the Koreans still dominated NASL even though they played from Korea to NA. It just takes some getting used to. Don't have a guest pass though.

MLG Anaheim was just an excellent event. Wished the foreigners would have played better, but well, the Koreans are insanely good. And Boxer, oh my Boxer. No one expected him to get 3rd. He played so well. Not surprising to see MVP and MMA going 1,2. MVP is just so solid. And I was really happy form MMA to get Code S. I think his group stage games proved he belonged to (beating Nestea). Also the crowd there was insane. 20,000+ people over the three days and nearly a million unique stream views, both MLG records.

And MLG Raleigh is just over a week away now. The Korean invites are Bomber, Coca (who just signed with SlayerS btw), Nada, and Tester. Fnatic.Rain, EG.Puma, colMVP.DRG, Liquid'Hero (new to TL, from oGs) and another colMVP player will also be some Koreans attending Raleigh. I might be missing some as well.

Damn, so much has happened since my last post. Ok, GSL Finals. Well as usual, another boring finals. Nestea won 4-0 over his teammate Losira. Nestea didn't drop one game on his way to winning his 3rd GSL Championship. Pretty ridiculous.

The next season has already begun. Too many games to talk about really. Some of the upsets are MC and Losira both being eliminated in the group stage. MC was cocky with his picks and it bit him in the ***. Some upcoming matched to look out for are MVP vs Nestea (MVP has amazing TvZ, will be a great series I think with MVP winning) and Huk vs. Nada. We will get to all the Huk news in a bit.

Also in GSL Code A was all the foreigners. Naniwa, Thorzain, Sase, Jinro and Fenix all lost in the first round, Thorzain was the only one to take a game. I feel like if Naniwa and Thorzain had been in Korea for more than a day (played EU Blizzard Invitational a few days before) they would have played better. They bounced back a few days later as the lead F. United to a 4-3 against team MVP in the GSTL. F. United is about to play again right now btw.

Blizzcon is coming up and the invitationals are wrapping up. The top 2 from each region will play at Blizzcon. Ret won EU and Naniwa got second. Select won NA and Sheth got second. Major won LA and dKiller got second. MVP and Nestea are the two GSL invites. Not sure if any other invitationals are done. Ret and Select both looked beastly.

IPL season 2 finished and the one and only White-Ra takes 1st place. He beat Nerchio pretty easily. Mana finished third. IPL is a great league, I just wish the games weren't so old, really hurts them. And there was like no hype around it this season either.

But they have announced that IPL 3 will be a live event at Caesars Palace in Atlantic City. Koreans will be in the event too. 8 players will be invited, 8 will earn spots via online qualifiers and 16 will earn spots at the event in an open bracket tournament. Should be an awesome event, interested to see how IPL handles their first live event. Its in October I believe.

Dimaga finally came back to the forefront by winning Assembly Summer. He kinda disappeared for a little while, but he beat Mana. Nada lost pretty early on in this tournament as well.

IEM Cologne is going on right now. Yesterday Groups A and B played. MC and Kas advanced in group A and Select and Socke advanced in group B. TSL.Killer not advancing is the biggest upset so far. Groups C and D are playing out right now. Huk and Nerchio/Tarson should advance in Group C while Puma is the favorite in D, I have no idea who will take 2nd out of Mana/Stephano/Sase. You can watch at www.esl.tv

And now for the drama. First NASL.

So the Korean teams have pulled out of NASL season 2. There is a whole bunch of drama from this. Koreans wanted their travel to the grand finals to be completely paid for by NASL. NASL couldn't afford that, but offered $1,000 in travel and a minimum of $1000 in winnings. That should cover their trip and leave about $300 left over. But the Koreans didn't like that offer and pulled out even though production had already started. The worst part is that the teams signed contracts, 10 days later told NASL about what they wanted and 5 days after that pulled out of the league. Its sucks for everyone involved. Koreans are also saying that bad play time, latency and overall amateur running of the league played into their decision. What I don't understand is why play in the qualifiers and sign the contracts knowing all of these conditions and then pull out? It is just incredibly unprofessional. NASL did wrongly state that sc2con was making this decision. Anyways we should know soon which players are replacing those Koreans who withdrew. EG.Puma, FnaticRain and Liquid'Hero are still playing in season 2.

More sc2con stuff. Well pretty much sc2con is an organization of the Korean teams, not including SlayerS, and I believe the president of the players association is also in it. They are meant to "govern" Korean sc2. Pretty much this organization is a joke and they don't have any real power. And they really don't seem to know what they are doing. They banned TSL for apparently not paying their players that were under contract, but it turns out that wasn't the case and the head of sc2con has been forced to step down. That was a very ugly situation. Funny thing is that sc2con couldn't even force TSL to do anything. They really have no power.

More with sc2con... FXO has left sc2con because of some of the stuff that has happened. Mainly because of one member, who has continuously hassled FXO. He made threats and blackmailed the team. He also was trying to force the team to change their name to FXO Korea and have the Korean flag on their uniforms. FXOBoss (owner of the team) will be meeting with sc2con next month to see if they can fix this, but its doubtful.

And last but certainly not least. One of the best viral marketing campaigns I have seen ever just took place. Team Evil Geniuses set up a clock on their website counting down to their mysterious announcement. Through this time they released 5 cryptic audio messages hinting at what this announcement was. TeamLiquid was going crazy with theories as was r/starcraft. The thread had over a million views on TL.

What was it? The current best foreigner, Liquid'Huk, who had just advanced to Code R. of 16, was in fact moving on to team EG. This was the most common theory (I figured this was it before the first audio clip and was assured it was that after the first audio clip). This is such a huge move as Huk is a beast of a player. He is loved on Liquid and as a fan of both teams, it was kind of hard to believe he actually had left Liquid. But the rumors surround his contract, its easy to see why. Its been described as "life changing" and that its in 6 digits! That makes me thing Idra is getting close to that as well.

Also announced was that Idra will be returning to Korea to practice with Huk and Puma in their team house that will be ready in October. Huk and Puma will move in immediately while Idra will move in at a later date. Idra won't stay there permanently though. He will return to their new team house in Arizona that they have lived in for about three weeks now. Huk will be making his EG debut in a matter of hours now at IEM.

I'm sure I missed something. Its been crazy at how busy the scene is now. Anyways, I'm off to watch GSTL and IEM.

                Re: Official StarCraft 2 Thread

Well IEM wrapped up and EG.Puma wins his second foreign tournament in his second try. He beat MC in the finals 3-0 too. Apparently all he does is practice. Also a lot of people wondered if he would fall off after joining EG because he wouldn't be living in a pro house, but I think his IEM performance dispels that. He just got to the EG house in Arizona today. He flew in on the same flight as Steve Nash apparently haha.

                IEM top 4:
                1. EG.Puma
                2. SK.oGs.MC
                3. Mouz.Mana
                4. aTn.Socke

Huk had a very disappointing tournament, going 0-3 in groups. The guy has been traveling like a mad man. He's gone from Korea-Anaheim-Netherlands-Anaheim-Korea-Cologne. Oh and then he has gone back to Korea for his GSL match against Nada and will be at Raleigh this weekend. I hope he can hold it together with all this traveling.

Some other tidbits. ZenexPuzzle (previous Code A champ) is supposedly joining former teammate Coca in moving to SlayerS. SlayerS looks to be expanding past their Terrans, which are the backbone of the team.

In other SlayerS news, it seems like the famous SC:BW player, Yellow, rival of Boxer, has joined SlayerS for now. He is currently trying to qualify for Code A and its being documented by GOM in the show Project A which you can watch on www.gomtv.net. You should tune in, you just need a free GOM account.

In GSL news, MarineKingPrime will be facing SlayerSGanzi in the Code A finals. Should be a good series. Ganzi had some rather interesting builds last night against Taeja. Code S Round of 16 continues tonight in one hour.

NASL has announced some of the new players for season 2. Huk, Jinro, QXC, NightEnd and Lowly are the first 5 announced. Season 2 starts on Sept. 14th (i believe).

And like I said earlier, MLG Raleigh is this weekend. It should be an awesome tournament. I think Bomber is the favorite, but wouldn't be surprised to see Puma win it coming from the open bracket. Also watch out for EG.Demuslim. This guy has been on such a tear lately. He holds an 80%+ win rate on ladder in both EU and NA (is number 1 in NA and climbed about 70 spots on his less active EU account in about 2-3 hours today). Other foreigners to watch out for are the usuals, Huk, Idra, Ret, Naniwa and Sheth. Be sure to tune into MLG though. Each event gets better. I feel like there is less hype for this event as its so soon after the last, but no doubt will it be a great weekend. You can tune in at www.mlgpro.com Coverage should start Friday at 5 EST I believe.

Gordon Hayward will be competing in IPL 3 in the open bracket. He's most likely gonna get knocked out extremely early (he is #1 in his platinum division), but IGN is getting him some pro coaches to help him before the event, which starts October 6th. ESPN, Yahoo and CBS Sports have all written articles on this too. Great publicity for the event too. Team Liquid did an interview with him:

                    http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=263510

Check the LeBron Decision parody video they did as well haha.

GSL Code S Finals are tonight! IM.MVP takes on oGs.TOP at around 2:10 AM PDT and I will be staying up for this. He will be going for his third GSL Championship, which would tie his teammate Nestea. I think MVP will win this pretty easily and with it being a Code S finals, it will be 4-0 most likely. Before the Finals there is a new fan favorite all star tournament. 5 matches will be played tonight. The line up for tonight can be found here:
                    http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=263985

In other GSL news, oGs.MC fell down to Code A this week. There is a lot of Terran OP balance whine going on right now and Protoss is struggling greatly. I haven't seen MC's games but from what i heard, he just didn't play well at all. Hopefully he gets back to Code S next season. The foreigners in Code A next season will be Naniwa, Sjow, Select and Sase. Huk will once again be in Code S.

                    Oh MLG Raleigh results were:
                    1. Bomber
                    2. Coca
                    3. DRG (earned a Code S spot)
                    4. Nada
                    5. Puma
                    6. Hero
                    7. Huk
                    8. Sjow

So top 6 is Koreans again, but at least two are on foreign teams (Puma and Hero). And more games were taken off Koreans this MLG than before.

NASL season 2 starts next week, September 14th. Even without Korean teams in it, they still have a sick line up. Check out www.nasl.tv for the 40 players and their divisions. All of them are stacked.

DreamHack Valencia is next weekend and has a sick line up as well. DreamHack always puts on a good show and this should be no different.

This weekend we have the Shoutcraft Invitational 3 featuring 8 great players. Some are White Ra, TLO, Strelok, and Socke.

October will be a good month as we have IPL 3, MLG, IEM NY (same weekend as MLG unfortunately), and I think IEM China is in Oct as well. Oh and Blizzcon is the weekend after MLG and IEM NY.

Anyone catch IPL3 Stephano vs. KiwkKaki (guy who knocked off Gordon Hayward?). One of the best matches I've seen in a while.

Game 2 was absolutely ridiculous. Easily one of the best games I've seen as well. IPL3 was great to watch. It sucks that on day 2 they had internet problems due to a car accident taking comcast down. But the games were pretty damn good and the production quality was excellent. The company that produces The Office did the production for IPL3. Rumor has it that IPL4 will be in Las Vegas!

And we have had back to back tournaments won by foreigners (Idra and Stephano)! Hasn't been done since Huk took down DreamHack Summer and Homestory Cup 3.

Absolutely. The scene is flourishing. The CEO of MLG, Sundance, had a meeting with a TV executive about getting some MLG SC2 onto ESPN 2.

I stayed up til 4:30 am to watch Nestea vs MVP in GSL last night. It sucks that it wasn't the finals. MVP won 3-2 in a great series. GSL Finals will be taking place at Blizzcon in a week and a half too! Nestea and MVP will also be in the Blizzcon tournament the same weekend. If MVP takes both down thats gonna be ridiculous.

This weekend is MLG Orlando, which is gonna be amazing. Probably one of, if not the, most stacked tournament outside of Korea. Definitely check it out this weekend at MLG.tv. It starts Friday at 5 PM EST.

Theres no way they would put a computer game on espn2. It would be amazing, but no way.

Just wait and see. Sundance is a smart guy and with MLG getting roughly 1 million unique viewers for events, the viewership is there. If poker and the spelling bee can be on espn, so can sc2.
