I still like Ferried he is a rebounder and that almost always carries over to the NBA.

I think Jimmer would be a solid pick. We desperately need people with the ability to create their own shot, and while I never see him as a career 20 ppg scorer, I think he could have a nice career a la Jamal Crawford, scoring off the bench. In this draft, I certainly think we could do a lot worse.

It will also be nice if we have to cut bait on Lance and if AJ doesn't improve his shot this offseason.

Personally in this draft I would buy another pick late in the first and get JJ or trade Rush to Minny and also draft Faried.

Ugh... I hope we do a deal like Rush and our 1st rounder this year to either trade up, trade out of this draft and into next years draft at what is most likely going to be a lotto position or another young promising 2nd, 3rd or 4th year player.

Either way, I don't want Fredette!

Hmm, I'd rather have Brooks at 15 than Jimmer. Brooks could come in and be our starting SG straight away, and then we can trade Rush. Really would like to get an extra pick in the first round.
If we got Brooks, he'd fill the role we wanted Mayo to fill - bench scoring.

If Bird picks Jimmer, I will go Rumplestiltskin. I'm having nightmares now at the prospect of Bird selecting Jimmer. If some think I threw a hizzy fit over the drafting of Stephenson and Reid last year, it will be nothing compared to the drafting of Jimmer!!!!!!!

Last year was packed with bigs available in the 2nd, and he picked Stephenson and REID! I'd rather had a # of bigs in that round and let them develop, but Bird had to take "born ready". We see how ready "born ready" was!

If Bird gives a 2nd rounder a guaranteed contract this year, he needs to be strung up and quartered. He surely won't make the same mistake for the 3rd time! Hopefully, he has learned from his mistakes of White and Stephenson.

I would love for Biyombo to fall to 15. He's exactly what we have wanted next to Hibbert. Then if we trade Rush and maybe our 2nd rounder to get Reggie Jackson , I will do 360 degree backflips. We would get 2 athletic freaks!

The "experts" would have to give us an A+ if that happend.

I've been saying for a year now how weak this draft is. Too many bigs opted for the draft last year who should have stayed in school to develop their game. Hence Whiteside, Varnardo, Jordan, Lawal, Alabi, N'diaye, Caracter, Gallon, and Pitman all were end of bench ornaments or went to Europe. They wanted the money b4 the lockout. Terrible career decisions for numerous of these players and others in the draft as well.

Rush, #15 to Houston for #14 (Biyombo)

Dahntay Jones to Dallas for #26 pick(Reggie Jackson)

Select a wing with the #42 pick

IF it garuntees Biyombo then yes, but of course it would have to be garunteed or othrewise no.

The 2012 draft is going to be one of the deeper drafts we have seen. I would obviously like to get picks in that draft.

Having said that I do not want to give up a pick this year along with players and just get a pick in return. If we do not participate in this draft we will have to be active in the free agent market, and most likely overpay for a player that we could obtain through this years draft. The teams just out of the playoffs this year will be jocking to get into the playoffs and we need to make moves to have sustained success and move up the rankings in the East.

I really hope Bird trades the pick if Jimmer is the selection @ 15. I like Jimmers offensive game, but I have serious doubts about his game at the next level. I dont see the need he fills either.

I could be dead wrong on this one and Jimmer become a star.. size wise he could be an Eric Gordon type.. both can light it up, one huge difference, EJ reportedly is a much stronger defender.

Bird did mention he wants the best bench in the NBA. Jimmer would be lightning in a bottle offensively with the second unit.

I am a big Jimmer fan. I just hate having a bunch of one-dimensional players on our team. I would LOVE to get Marshon Brooks.

The length our second unit could have with Marshon would be ridiculous.

(Assuming Born Ready is actually ready)

    PG - Lance (6'10.5" wingspan)
    SG - Brooks (7'1" wingspan)
    SF - George (6'11.25" wingspan)
    PF - McBob (THANS50)
    C- Fiesty Foster

1 - 3 are athletic long wings who can score.... Brooks and George will be able to defend and hopefully Lance will develop into a formidable defender. I think that 2nd unit could be very effective along with mix and matching any of those guys with the starters would create a very deep and attacking bench.

In all honesty I dont really blame Bird for james "flight" White

He played well enough in camp and it was a very minor contract. He had no trouble I am aware of off court

What I dont understand though is if you give him a 2 year contract, unless he is a off court problem, why noit let him devolp? Its not liked the Pacers were "stacked"at the 2

It's changed a lot, but my list at this point is:

    1. ?No clear favorite
    2. Kenneth Faried
    3. Jimmer Fredette
    4. Marshon Brooks
    5. Reggie Jackson

I'd be happy with any of these guys.

edit: i'm only talking realistic guys, not including someone slipping

I like the Jimmer or Marshon Brooks with our pick.

I'm mildly intrigued by Reggie Jackson, but I think people are way too smitten with him around here. I'm guessing they just saw "7'1" wingspan and know little else about him.

I personally watched him shutdown Harrison Barnes and have seen a few other games the kid is incredibly skilled and is a pg first but big enough to be a SG if he doesn't have success at pg in the league. That is why i want him I think he fits a big need a defensive pg and instant offense off the bench who can create for himself and others. He also has the potential to grow into a floor general in time he is highly intelligent and is pretty new to the pg position so he has room to grow. That is why i would like to draft him I cant speak for anyone else.

Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Who cares about Reid we basically drafted Magnum.

Still not impressed with who the media has us taking. Unless Biyombo or Jackson I'd rather pass.
