Thread: Any interest in Nate Robinson?

Default Any interest in Nate Robinson?

I don't know his contract details, but he obviously has no place in the OKC rotation. Anyone think he could be a good bench player for us, 8-10 mpg guy? Seems he has a reputation for chucking ill advised shots but, so far as I know, he's considered a good presence in the locker room and can get the hot hand. Too streaky for our squad?

Talking about Nate's league I would rather go after JJ Barea.

When he played for the Knicks he was actually a pretty decent guy off the bench. His contract isn't horrible (He earns about 4.5 next year and expires).
We could use him, but he won't be too much of a difference maker

Right now i'm content with AJ as the backup. At least for next year. I think that the Pacers have other parts of the team that need to be improved more so than the backup point guard spot.

No thanks. Nate can bring a solid spark on the bench from time to time. Is a pretty good cheerleader, but he won't be happy with the same type of role on a team not fighting for a title

I don't think Nate Robinson is a winning player.

I'd rather keep A.J. Price. In fact, I'd probably take Price 10 times out of 10 over Nate. Nate has greatly dropped off from what he used to be.

He would be best on a team that has a big PG so you can cross-matchup, like a Jason Kidd. Because Nate is not a point guard AT ALL. So no, I'll pass.

I forgot about that, and the best part is Ray Allen at the end.

I've really enjoyed watching him this post season, but it's important to keep in mind that he'll never look as good here as he does there.

Reason being that he's in the perfect situation for him to shine offensively in Dallas. He has incredible floor spacing combined with incredible shooting threats. He gets to go out on the floor with Jason Terry, Peja Stojakovic, and Dirk Nowitzki around him. No one is leaving any of those three to double him or give his man help, freeing him to do his thing with as big of a space as possible to work with.

Then all he has to do is either score or draw the center's man, pass, and watch his center dunk the ball.

Not saying he couldn't do well here, but we can't offer him such a terrific circumstance.

I agree with most of this but like I said before in another post I've seen the guy during the regular season before they had Peja and he was still killing people, his quickness helps him to get were he wants to get and his passing ability is underrated big time.

Easily one of my least liked players in the league. Bad defensively, low basketball IQ, I can't stand him.

A 5 play sequence in the Dallas/OKC series epitomizes him to me. This was back to back plays in the 4th quarter in game 1.

1.) Barrea drives for uncontested layup, Nate looking for a pick got left at the 3 point line.

2.) Nate shoots wide open baseline jumper, barely hits the front of the rim, miss.

3.) Barrea takes pick and roll; hits step back 8 footer, Nate got juked and is under the basket.

4.) Nates shoots airball on wide open 3 pointer

5.) Barrea hits a 3 as Nate goes under the P-n-R again and doesn't recover.

As much as I don't like him as a player I felt kind of bad for him, it was such a horrible sequences.

I think he's bad and a detriment to a team, he's so bad.

Don't get fooled by a few good games for a bad bad NY team a couple of years ago. He is not good, at all. Maybe if they changed the rule to make it take it, one on one type game, thats about it.
