    Default Iggy or Mayo?

Ask in another thread, but wanted to make a poll.

Let's say we're able to sign Nene as a free agent. Would you rather trade a package of Hibbert, pick and filler for Iguodala, or keep Hibbert and trade pick and filler for Mayo?

I voted to trade Roy IF Nene were signed.

Though Iguodala would be another big name on the wing to help Granger, I think I would keep Hibbert and have that depth in the frontcourt, while adding Mayo for a cheaper price

I would rather keep Roy but Nene at PF and have either Mayo or Paul be our sixth man

Does anyone else think that we are kidding ourselves if we think we are going to get Mayo for nothing this summer.

He has played pretty well in the play offs and I really see his value going up this off season.

What is to much to give up for Mayo is my question.

Personally, I like the idea of a Iguodala/Granger backcourt. At the center position in the East, Nene could average career highs. Outside of Miami (OBVIOUSLY), I can't think of two many SG/SF combos that I would rather have. Mayo scares me mainly because he's a 6'3" combo guard, and I think we would have to play too much team defense to "cover" the SG spot. On the other hand, Iguodala would be better at one-on-one defense that could prevent/decrease dribble penetration into the paint. Granger is descent defender at the SF spot.

PLUS, it would give Paul George a chance to be "Da Man" coming off the bench, and for the second unit.

Why not just absorb Iggy's salary? We have plenty of cap space.

Because we'd be paying a guy 16 mil in a few years to put up 14 ppg.
They can get better then cap relief and they should take it. We can do a lot better for that kind of money.

I assume the Sixers would want some type of player in return for Iggy to help their team as well.

They need a big man. Spencer Hawes isn't that guy. Evan Turner can step into starting lineup for them

    According to NBA 2K11...

    Trade: Hibbert for Iggy
    Release: Ford, S. Jones, Foster
    Resign: McRoberts, Dunleavy
    Sign: Nene, Turiaf

Indiana would be 8th overall .

There is no way Memphis is giving up Mayo for the #15 pick in a **** draft.

I think Mayo's value will drop no further than trading him straight up for McRoberts or McRoberts and a pick. His value as gone up greatly with the Grizz playing so well in the playoffs and I don't think it's gonna be a cakewalk for the Pacers Front Office this summer in trying to trade for Mayo.

The price for Iggy would be too much. I would be interested in Mayo...we could probably get him for a first rounder

I'm just wondering, doesn't Iguodala have chronic knee problems?

I have no interest in trading Roy. I don't understand why anyone would. After 3 seasons and one playoff series? Roy will get better and the Pacers would regret trading him.

Voted for getting Mayo. For two reasons. First his scoring is needed more than Iggy's defense and slashing. Two he is a lot cheaper.

Dang, I would love Iggy, and am not too high on OJ, but this is a tough choice. I would love to avoid giving up Hibbert if possible. I would rather get Andre all else equal, but I would take Mayo if it meant I did not have to give up much.

If Mayo only costs a mediocre pick (not going happen now) you got to pick him up no matter what you'd do with Iggy or anyone else. It's simply too great value.

A reasonable GM would probably do both trades, and make another trade at midseason.

Worst case, turn Mayo into multiple firsts. Bulls were rumoured to offer multiple picks for him, for instance, but Bulls are supposedly one of the teams Heisley does not want to help.
    There would be options.

Best case, you might find a decent starter big for Mayo. Omer Asik from Bulls? Dangle Mayo in front of Cavs and hope for Varejao? I think that's the kind of offers you could hope for Mayo(+fillers) next February.

So, yeah, you take both trades. Can't go wrong with Mayo for a pick.

I think Mayo has played his way back into favor. A pick isn't getting it done.
