    Default Gordon or Mayo?

Between those two names being brought up frequently, I'm curious as to who people want at SG for the future.

*Keep in mind getting EJ is going to come at a higher price than Mayo.

I know who you're going with and I strongly agree.

I want EJ in a Pacers uniform and I'm willing to give LAC Danny for him. He's going to be a top star and is already solid.

Since both names have been brought up I was interested to see who might prefer Mayo maybe because the price to get him is lower.

Choice is easy, only hesitation is Gordon's injury history.

I also think Mayo is better than given credit for and needs out of Memphis, but EJ FTW

I personally would like to get both Danny to L.A. for EJ and Kamaan then do a sign and trade of McRoberts and our 1st for O.J.

E.J. is our starting SG and O.J. is our sixth man playing both guard spots....

Right now it is easily EJ...25 PPG already, flat out scorer, good defense comes along with it as well. He'd easily be a fan favorite and he'd be even better here with the Pacers. Mayo is very underrated, though. In the right system, I could see him eventually becoming a big-time player in the league as he's one of those players that has just been "born ready" to play basketball, just like Lance, LeBron, Durant, and all of these other young guys that have been prodigies since even before high school. Right now I believe either guy would be great for the Pacers. I think Gordon would be the safer route as well as I don't really recall any attitude problems with him whereas we've heard of the few problems that Mayo's had in Memphis and in high school. I think he's finally starting to mature, though.

Think most of you over rate Eric Gordon. To give up our best player, for LAC 2nd best player, is downgrading.

not when there best player is Blake Griffin. EJ is 22 and if healthy better than Danny.

He'd definitely be a really good leader for us and he'd do well playing on the wing with Paul and hopefully get Nene at PF.

EJ is one of the most underrated players in the league. He's not just a shooter. He's scores at will, he gets to the hoop and makes a good amount of clutch shots like you'd expect a guy like Wade to make. Despite his height, he's a really good defender too. You can put him on opposing 2s or PGs and he does well.

I went back recently to watch a game where he scored 36 points (season high) against Minnesota and I was very impressed with how high his bball IQ is based on his decision making and the shots he made.

lol , in regards to the thread question/poll ..

    You're kidding right?

I believe if Gordon came to Indiana, he would be our D. Rose type of player..

Imagine the battles those 2 would have here in the East.. ... *drools* lol

    DC/AJ/hopefully Lance
    EJ/PG/hopefully Lance
    Danny/PG
    Hans/McRoberts/Foster
    Hibbert/Foster

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

I agree entirely with what most have said.

Is that even a serious question? Gordon is far superior to Mayo. There's no doubt that I'd rather have him.

its not downgrading if your best player isn't as good as their second best player.

I knew everyone would say Gordon so this is pretty much an informal debate unless you're picky with who we trade away which looks like it would be Danny if we want to make the deal in 2012.

I said in the other thread, I'd take Mayo as a rental for next season and not bring him back and go after Gordon instead in 2012.

If Mayo had a season like he did last year this would be debatable but with EJ improving his numbers and Mayos numbers dipping quite a bit it isnt close.
Mayo could rebound next year but I dont think he can if he is still playing for the Grizz.

Mintues are simliar and so are a lot of the other stats like shot attempts. EJ shoots the ball better and aves more assits and a much better PER rating this season.

Why is everyone initialling him as EJ? Eric Gordon = EG. Does his middle name start with a J or something? Or is this a reference I wouldn't get unless I live in Indiana?
