    My expectations are...

    - Have a season

    - Get off to an early start and get the city behind us again.

    - Roy becomes physical in the paint, and wins the MIP award.

    - Win 45+ games

    - Win a playoff series.

If Vogel is back, we have new starters at the two and four, we bring some vets in to glue the team together, and our young guys continue to improve (They will), I want 50 wins next season.

If we have enough talent at that point in time, win a playoff series.

I am not going to go too crazy. A few games above .500, 6th or 7th seed in a much more competitive Eastern Conference.

Take our series to at least 6 and possibly win it.

If we shake things up with a big acquisition in the off-season, I will have to change my answer.

I think a better regular season including a strong start and an extremely good home record, with a 6-7 seed and winning all home playoff games (which leads to a 7 game series).

Gravy would be a first round win and at least one player with an individual award (MIP is the most likely, an All-Star berth would be a real treat or a 3rd team all-NBA would be a shock and wonderful surprise).

I wanna see what we do this summer before I say anything. Who leaves, who stays, who comes, who goes, etc.

1.) Significantly upgrade our PG, SG, PF, or C position to take about half the attention off of Granger.

2.) Make other beneficial offseason moves

3.) Win at least 42 games. Preferably something like 45.

4.) Win a playoff series. Or at least take a really superior team to 6 or 7 games.

That's a specific as I can be at this point.

If Vogel stays and continues to sell our guys on playing hard, smashmouth basketball on a nightly basis...

I don't think a 50 win season and 2nd round (or beyond) playoff berth is unreasonable.

If we played during the season like we did in games 1-4... We are a 55+ win team easily.

CAN we do it? That's the question...

Make it back to the playoffs if there's an NBA season, and win more than 1 game in the 1st round series.

It's going to still take time. We were a playoff team, but we only won 37 games. I hope we build on this team and bring in players that will make this team better.

I don't want a Bucks situation (I know injuries were part of it), but I don't want to simply bring in one on one scorers from average to below average teams.

I won't to see more talent, with winners and players who are going to play hard each night for their teammates, for their team and for this city.

Lets say we basically have the same team and Vogel stays.

I'd expect 45-48 wins, a 6th seed, and a first round series against the Magic in which we push it to 7 and win the series. We put up a good fight in the 2nd round but ultimately we're eliminated in 6 by the Celtics, who have one more run in them I think.

I'd be completely satisfied with this performance, but I really believe we're going to add something big over the offseason. Someone wants to play here. I've always heard big praise from former players about playing for the Pacers. That, along with our promising squad and Bird's skills should land us the guy we need.

    16,000+ attendance average.

Better than .500 and get into the playoffs without having to worry about just getting in.
In 49 states it's just basketball, but this is Indiana!

50-52 wins and a seed in the playoffs commensurate with that. We won't know the seeding until we see what happens with Orlando and NY. Orlando could very well lose Howard next year. But to where?

I expect to be working for the team behind a camera. Also, we're going to be as surprising of a young team as OKC last season. Between signings and trades, we're going to really impress the nation, and bring about a new era to Indiana Pacers Basketball.

Our arena, their arena, Rucker park, it just doesn't matter. We're bigger, longer, younger, faster, and hungrier.

I have to say that Indiana has too look like the anti-Heat/Knicks right now. We are lacking in star power but have a great supporting cast. With the demise of the Knicks and the hopefully magnificent failure of Miami, we might look awfully attractive to a few stars.

I hope we look to the off season to get one of bigs from Utah for possibly our first and Rush (wishfull thinking). Then we could sign one of the free agent SG's to give a spark off of the bench, Crawford (again wishfull thinking). Last we could bring Stanko over to backup Roy. We could have a pretty good lineup:

    PG: Collison/Price
    SG: George/Crawford
SF: Granger/George/Dunleavy (signed on the cheap)
    PF: Milsap or Jefferson/Hansbrough
    C: Hibbert/Stanko

I would say this lineup would be good for at least 6th in the east and somewhere around 45-50 wins.

If we returned next season with the same players we have right now and with Vogel as the coach, I would expect 41-42 wins.

I originally stated that if we did nothing to get better, then we would drop in the standings. I no longer believe that because I honestly believe that George, Hibbert, Collison and Hansbrough will continue to improve... and I believe the odds are in our favor that somehow one or two of them will improve significantly in preparation for the coming season. Therefore 3-4 more wins even without acquiring anyone new.

If the Pacers are able to acquire a defensive PF capable to help Hibbert that is also capable of scoring and/or acquire a closer, then I believe the Pacers are capable of getting 50 or more wins.

That's fine, but this is just your expectations for now. You can watch one player in just a few plays and your expectations for that player will change. Life is fluid, so that means expectations change.

    My expectations are;

Eighty percent chance Bird will be back.
SPECULATION; Depends on him having a free hand.

Fifty percent chance he hires Vogel.
SPECULATION; Birds high on Stephenson and he might not think Vogel is the type coach to handle him. This might be something else he wants to talk about with Simon. Simon might want to keep Vogel, but Bird might want a more authoritive coach.

Ninety-nine percent chance some of the season will be lost to a lockout.

Eighty-five percent chance Bird resigns Foster.

Sixty percent chance he resigns McRoberts.
SPECULATION; Mac might look for another place to play rather than re-sign and have Bird trade him.

Forty percent chance he resigns Dunleavy.
SPECULATION; It would be as a back up to Danny and I doubt Mike does that.

If there's no lockout will sign Stanko to back up Roy.

SPECULATION; One hundred percent chance Bird tries to trade our first round pick. Could be for a lower or higher pick along with players. (Here's the most likely spot of Bird trying to pick up a power forward.)

If we don't make some major upgrades, I see this as a 40-44 win team that has another 5 game first round playoff exit. I don't see much changing unless we can bring in at least another Granger-level talent or 2 players slightly below Granger-level.
