    Wireless = lag
    Stick to ethernet

    Newer model 360's don't need the adapter btw

    I must concur, unless you run off a college network that is so screwed up, that wireless is FASTER and more reliable (yes, I have seen this happen).

    I have an xbox Elite. Do they have wireless built into them? We run with Comcast at the house, would a wireless adapter, if I need one, be a good way to go?

    Go to system settings > network settings and select wireless, it should tell you whether or not you need one.
    Wireless is good for streaming things but for playing games online I wouldn't recommend it.

    Good call for multiplayer, especially considering that I'm prepping for Gears 3. Appreciate the good looking out. And do you have switch wireless "on" through system settings, because my profile has tried auto-signing in and always says cannot connect to xbox live. Granted my xbox live time is out though... but I should still be able to connect.

    I used to avoid wireless out of lag concerns, but lately I've used it anyway and truthfully not had trouble, and that is with G as opposed to N.

    My router is in the same room, though.

    Are you playing a shooter or a game like 2k? For a shooter I wouldn't recommend wireless.

    I've done both. There is a slight dip sometimes in Black Ops, but never to a point where I felt as though it were the difference between a good or bad game. But it's a good point: in competitive matches, every bit of ping can count.

    Well, you have, and those who have know that in Gears you cannot afford a single peon of lag in ranked matches. I'm going wired. Thanks everybody for the tips and info.
