I just know that if we hire Mike Brown after seeing Vogel inspire more with much, much, much, much less, I'm going on a downtown killing spree.

    I would advise against that.

But lets say Bird doesn't want to come back, and either does Morway and a new GM comes in and he wants to hire lets say Mike Brown because they have worked together in the past, Brown is his coach they have a similar philosophy. You don't think in that scenerio it would be smart to have the GM and coach working in the same direction? I sure do.

I tend to think silence from Bird is a positive sign for him coming back. It seems like if he was leaving, he'd pull the band-aid and get it over with. I expect we'll know the answer by friday.

Did anyone hear Wells on Dakich's show about 30 minutes ago? I only caught the very, very end. I know there is no news, but I was just wondering if Wells talked about the timetable on Bird's decision
Said he's essentially unsure on Bird.
Said TJ, Solo, Josh, Dun are all unlikely to return. Said they'll try and get rid of Brandon and Posey. Also said that Larry Bird was unhappy with Dahntay..he apparently has too big of a personality and has too big of an influence on some of the younger guys. Said Larry is still in love with Lance. But also said there's some concern if there is a lockout and Stephenson gets to go back to NYC unsupervised.

Said Vogel is probably the leading candidate for two reasons. 1. The playoffs and how the players performed. And 2. For financial reasons, once again..with the possibility of a lockout...

Sounds like if none of the free agents are retuning, Bird and the FO have something in mind.

Maybe not this summer, but the 2012 summer. Hopefully to get Eric Gordon.

    Interesting, thanks for posting this.

Larry's infatuation with Lance reminds me of the two year crush in high school I had on a girl I had no chance with: you just have to give it up. If you're that worried about Lance going back to NYC unsupervised, he's not worth investing any of your future in at all, period, end of story.

I am find with all the guys who are probably leaving actually leaving. Hicks had it right in his post that Josh and Tyler are both backup power forwards, and of the two, Tyler is probably the better player. Josh is a decent player but given the makeup of the roster he's an unnecessary luxury. His salary needs to go to a more apparent need.

I don't know what to think of Larry's comments on Dahntay. Maybe was the ringleader behind the big party the other night? Is it possible that Dahntay is inherently a party animal, while our young players are inherently hard workers, and that Larry is afraid Dahntay is having a negative impact on their work ethic?

Within your scenario is the assumption that we bring in the Cleveland Cavaliers front office that craft a supporting cast around Lebron. I would be sickened by that whole situation personally.

Well, the comment from Wells about Bird/Dahntay was interesting.

Because it was "not all good." Wells pretty much said that Dahntay is an extreme alpha, always thinks he's right ect..I think he tries to be a really good teammate (an example that sticks out was when discussing the lockout, Dahntay was talking about how he was trying to help the younger guys out in explaining how they should handle their money..)

Dahntay strikes me as a hard worker though. So I doubt that's the issue. (I could be wrong though) It sounded like the problem was with Dahntay's personality/attitude. Maybe Larry blames Dahntay for Lance's personality problems.

    Exactly.

Dahntay tries to be some kind of star on this team, but is no where near there.

He's never been an offensive specialist, but always great on the defensive end which is why he was brought in.

He's very selfish and likes to try and be like Kobe and it's pretty annoying because he can barely shoot.

I like his hustle and aggresive energy, but being an alfa on this team can hurt us on the offensive end.

The one thing I know that happens this week is Darren Collison will be taking two whole days off before starting to train for next season.

Haha, there is a reason why one of those guys will be on the Pacers next year and the other will not.
