Default Thoughts about the crowd, not game thoughts...

I have a question for you seasoned vets.

I've been to several Pacers Playoff games since 2001, but my wife of 3 years had never experienced it. So, after much deliberation, I bought tix at the last minute and ended up in 221, Row 11. Hey, no such thing as a bad seat.

    Well, heres the issue:

The game was great. But the Bulls fans around us were awful, completely trashed and disrespectful. Early in the first quarter, a Pacers fan shouted "PACERS" directly at one of the Bulls fans in front of us. Well, the Bulls fan responded by threatening to "kick the **** out of you!" and repeatedly saying, "Do it again, I dare you. Little *****!"

Well, I was able to calm both down and get back to what was shaping up to be a great game. However, the Bulls fan begins chanting "Hibbert is a ****y, **** the Pacers! You guys SUCK ***!!

Then, a Pacers fan who had drank a bit too much began chanting "**** the Bulls" over and over. Everyone around him insisted he stop, but the idiot Bulls fan began threatening to come over there and start something, going so far as to get up and start moving. Well, after about 30 seconds of terrible profanity and threats, I stepped in and shoved the drunk Pacers fan out of the way, and told the Bulls fan to chill or get ejected. Right on cue, security shows up and drags the Bulls fan off. Well, the Bulls fan was able to LIE to security (Apparently, I didn't hear the words out of his mouth.) Security let him stay, and ejected the Pacers fan. Just like that.

First issue: Bulls fan needed to be gone as well. Period. They both needed bounced.

Second issue: The Bulls fan was calm until the third quarter when he got mouthy again, including flipping the crowd off REPEATEDLY. Well, security comes back because they had recieved MULTIPLE complaints (There were little kids, like 3 to 6, and he was shouting F words like it was what kept him alive). All security does is warn him to calm down, and leaves. At the end of the game, he, showing great originality, shouted "F YOU!" over and over at Pacers fans.

This was the first ever playoff game my wife had attended, and I had to be on edge the entire time because these disrespectful and DRUNK Bulls fans.

Who can I contact regarding this? I'm coming back to the game Saturday, should I try to speak with Customer Service?

I know I could just let it go, but for all the times I've been to Conseco, this was the one time where I was genuinely concerned something would happen.

By the way, the fans were in section 221, row 10, seats 5-8. Even the Usher was shocked security allowed the Bulls fans to stay.

Advice? I'm really bummed. Incredible game! Loved it! But, the Chicago fans really hurt the experience.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I've had to sit near idiots before and it really takes all the fun out of the game. Please come back and support the team if you can make it.

I don't really know whom you should contact, hopefully someone will chime in and help you out. I know a few Pacer employees respond here on the forum at times.

I understand how frustrating this can be, and I used to complain to ushers or whomever, but eventually I got to the point where, I know this is sports and there are going to be ***holes regardless if it bothers me, so I just ignore them now.

Can not speak for the Pacers or their PR staff.

However, I complained about that exact same kind of crap at Redskins game (via the Redskins web-site) and Bruce Allen called me and actually personally responded that he heard and and it would be fixed.

At the games the most you can do is go to security or get a usher, but sadly most of the time there is not much they can do.

I don't know that you can contact anyone at this point.

Next time I'd just make a big deal out of it to the ushers as opposed to just mentioning it. This is a family environment, and if people want to get liquored up so be it. But they need to do it elsewhere where children are not exposed to it.

Frankly, I'd do it to a Pacer or Bulls fan. It's ridiculous what a bit of alcohol will do to people.

I am genuinely sorry for your experience, as I feel your pain. But if you feel a fight may happen or peoples safety is involved, find one of the IMPD security officers if the ushers won't listen.
Stop quoting people I have on ignore!

When Rose hit that final shot, some idiot bulls fan threw his hat down onto the lower level. I sit in Area 55 so he was right in front of me on the edge. His hat landed in the tunnel near Larry. He was taken off lol.

    I had this same problem.

I was sitting in section 210 and there were probably only 50 Pacers fans. They were disrespectful the whole game and kept telling me how much the Pacers sucked.

Whenever they were throwing t-shirts into the crowd, one of the fans threw it back toward the Bulls bench, but he was later thrown out (I believe).

Then my friend and I were being made fun of as we left. Pacers fans should not have to deal with this treatment at their own house.

I think everyone can agree with me that overall Bulls fans are pricks.

It took an awful lot of willpower not to deck this one kid who was easily 5 - 6 inches shorter than me that followed me and my friend out of the game getting in our face about losing the game.

I was in section 219...yeah. All Bulls fans. Some were cool, some were ********, all were annoying. The balcony is where the majority of them were sitting. I got my tix off StubHub and so did all the Bulls fans evidently.

Of all places, Area 55 had a Bulls fan for a Security Guard.

And guess what? The guy was a complete dickhead. Shocker. Kicked a die-hard member out just because he wasn't in his "proper" seat. Kicked him out of the arena!

That was Ben's fault also they could have made room. But ya that pissed me off.

You should be able to go to Guest Relations and ask to speak with the head of security if you get no satisfaction elsewhere. Kids should not have to be exposed to profanity-laced tirades.

It was nice to see Eric Gordon in the crowd.

    Maybe that is a sign.

All my friends and I usually smoke a bowl or two before we go to games. Our chants are always creative and we usually have everyone around us, including children, cracking up and having a good time.

They should sell overpriced bong hits instead of beer I think.

And this is why I don't sit above row 2 in the balcony. The riff raff up there just ruins the experience.

I was in section 211 as well and saw the guy get bounced for throwing the t-shirt back. I have seen about ten different teams come into the Fieldhouse over the past few years, granted none of them were playoff games except for tonight, but it was by far the worst group of fans I have seen. I was in a rush to get to the game, I actually thought my tickets were in section 221 and there was a very drunk girl standing up the first 6 minutes dropping bombs in front of a 6 or 7 year old kid. I felt bad that the Dad was powerless against this. On the walk back to the car I heard, "**** you country people." No class.

I had another bone to pick with Conseco...I know I wasn't there to drink and I had only one beer but the lines were out of this world and I missed some of the third quarter waiting in line only to hear, "Beer is gone!" The whole balcony ran out of beer it seemed like. Not a major issue at all I just couldn't believe they ran out of it.

I know this has nothing to do with Conseco, but it took us an hour to get out of the Express Parking Garage while the Huntington Bank garage was sending out cars left and right. Really, Indy? No traffic control?

Overall, it was great to witness playoff basketball. I'm glad it is back in Indiana and look forward to going to more in the future.

Traffic control issue sucks they need to not have road blocks and just let traffic flow they do more harm then good.

I have to agree. Sat next to a shmammered bulls fan, who kept giving an older couple a hard time. Finally, he forced his friend (a pacer fan) to leave with him. He could barely walk down the stairs. The bulls fans there tonight definetly didn't represent themselves well.

Oh, I already have my tix for Saturday. Ive been to Conseco enough to know this is the exception, not the rule. I should note, we didn't simply "mention" it to an usher, there were at least 4separatte complaints.

I wont be in balcony again, amd to be honest, I won't be taking my wife to a bulls game ever again. These people were out of control, way worse than sixers or nets, hell, even Celtics fans.
