Default 2010-2011 Season Record by NBA Officials

This is from the regular season:

Wins and Losses by NBA officials individually. Did not take the time to do these numbers by crew, but I probably should have. So, for whatever this is worth, here you go:

    Last First Wins Losses
    Adams Bennie 0 4
    Ayotte Mark 1 0
    Barnaky Brent 2 2
    Bavetta Dick 1 3
    Blair Curtis 2 2
    Boland Matt 2 2
    Bolnick Scott 0 0
    Brothers Tony 2 3
    Brown Tony 4 1
    Buchert Nick 2 3
    Callahan Mike 5 2
    Capers James 1 0
    Collins Derrick 3 2
    Crawford Joe 5 0
    Crawford Dan 1 3
    Cutler Kevin 1 2
    Dalen Eric 2 1
    Davis Marc 0 5
    Delaney Bob 2 2
    Fehr Kevin 0 2
    Fitzgerald Kane 3 3
    Forte Brian 1 2
    Foster Scott 2 1
    Fraher Pat 3 3
    Garrettson Ron 2 4
    Goble John 1 2
    Guthrie David 2 3
    Javie Steve 3 0
    Jones David 1 2
    Kennedy Bill 3 3
    Kirkland Courtney 2 3
    Kogut Marat 1 0
    Lane Karl 1 1
    Lewis Eric 1 4
    Lindsay Mark 3 2
    Maddox Tre 0 0
    Malloy Ed 1 3
    Mauer Ken 0 1
    McCutchen Monty 1 3
    Mott Rodney 2 1
    Nunez, Jr. Tommy 0 3
    Orr J.T. 0 0
    Palmer Violet 3 3
    Phillips Jason 6 2
    Poole Olandis 5 2
    Richardson Leroy 1 2
    Richardson Derek 2 2
    Roe Eli 1 3
    Rush Eddie 0 0
    Salvatore Bennett 0 4
    Scott Kevin 1 0
    Smith Michael 1 4
    Spooner Bill 2 3
    Stafford Derrick 1 3
    Tiven Josh 4 2
    Twardoski Scott 0 0
    Wall Scott 1 6
    Washington Tom 3 3
    Willard Greg 2 1
    Williams James 2 4
    Wood Leon 1 4
    Workman Haywoode 1 1
    Wright Sean 2 0
    Wunderlich Mark 0 0
    Zarba Zach 2 3
    Zielinski Gary 1 0

What does this say? Probably nothing, but I took the time to do it so I thought I'd share. I was really bummed by Rose getting 21 FT attempts yesterday and DC not getting that call down the stretch.

So the Pacers were 8-7 in games officiated by the trio of officials who officiated Game 1 (for a 53.3 winning percentage) during the regular season.

It means Joey Crawford loves us; Bennett Salvatore hates us; and Violet Palmer can't make up her mind. :-)

    Thanks for the work, B-Pump!

That would have been almost impossible because they do not have crews in the NBA. They mix and match them every night

Probably not until gametime. The NBA has locked that down hardcore since Donaghy.

I went through game by game so I could have counted by duos or whatever, but I just took the lazy way and did individually.

I don't think it has anything to do with individual refs or groups of refs.

No, it probably doesn't. We had conversations yesterday at BDub's about individual refs so I thought I'd look at the numbers. I wasn't trying to prove anything. I didn't remember a game that we won with Violet, but I was obviously wrong.

I thought Crawford reffed a good game. Violet Palmer does not like us and neither do I nor Danny Granger. That charge call was bad though at the end of the game.

They've done that as long as I've been following the NBA 1979

They've actually changed it since Donaghy, although I had it the wrong way. They used to announce refs 90 minutes before the tip, now it's announced the morning of the game.

The biggest factor isn't the actual ref but that refs tend to give the benefit of the doubt to the home team and to the team with the biggest star.

There was a huge free throw/fouls called disparity in favor of the home team in every game this weekend.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

here are the average FT attempts for each team poer game for the regular season.

    Pacers (24.8) - Bulls (24.5)
    Sixers (22.6) - Heat (27.9)
    Hawks (21.1) - Magic (25.6)
    Blazers (22.4) - Mavs (22.6)
    Grizzlies (24.2) - Spurs (24.2)
    Hornets (23.1) - Lakers (24.1)
    Knicks (25.5) - Celts (23.1)
    Nugs (29.6) - Thunder (29.3)

No real point here, except to expect a ton of free thrown in the Nugs vs Thunder series.

Also Vogel did a great job getting the pacers average as high as it was

In general the home team gets more FT's, part of that is the refs, but also a big part of that is the home team is usually more aggressive and the more aggressive team gets more FT's

I like the way Delaney calls games, he generally lets them play. (now watch him be terrible tonight) Marc Davis ia a good young ref. Rodney Mott is probably hasn't done very many playoff games.

A quick google search on Marc Davis revealed this:

    http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/30456460/
According to the Boston Herald, a member of the Celtics' traveling contingent was taken aback at the sight of the crew exiting the United Center after the game with family members who were Bulls fans. The Boston Globe, citing an NBA source, reported that the officials were Marc Davis and Dan Crawford.
So apparently we might have a Bulls fan officiating this game. He also told AI he would "whoop his ***" one game.

Our best bet for some help is Rodney Mott.

    http://experts.covers.com/includes/a...?theArt=223377
Mott hasnít been kind to home teams, either. The hosts are 19-27 ATS and just 24-22 straight-up when heís on the whistle. Road teams are actually averaging more points (99.2) than the home teams (98.9) with the 53-year-old veteran calling the game.
But it's also worth noting that he's known for keeping the games low-scoring, and whistling a fairly high number of fouls. This will be his second playoff game.

Out of curiosity, I went back and checked if Davis officiated any of our regular season games against the Bulls. It turns out he did. January 29th in Chicago.

This was a memorable game for many reasons. Josh started, but rode the bench for most of the 1st half. He returned in the 3rd quarter and kept us in it singlehandedly. (He finished with 20 pts on 8-11 shooting, 8 reb, and 2 blocks in 27 minutes) Naturally, O'Brien didn't reward him and played Posey for most of the 4th. (Posey finished with 0 pts, 0 reb and 4 fouls in 17 min)

At around the 5 min mark of the 4th quarter, O'Brien gets his 1st tech for arguing with Davis. At this point it's a 10 point game.

    Josh returns with 4:30 left.

At 3:23 Brewer dunks on Josh for an and-1. After the free throw, Jason Phillips throws Josh out of the game for no obvious reason. O'Brien comes over and says something. Davis gives him the second tech. O'Brien is gone. After much deliberation, Josh's ejection is downgraded to a tech.

    Bulls win 110-89.

Davis actually called a pretty good game, and in a small way we can thank him for where we are today. The morning after Davis threw O'Brien out of the game, the Pacers fired him.

marc davis is my new least favorite official. don't think he pays attention very well, seems to make his mind up before the play is over and gets mad and carries a gruge.

with all the love for him in this tread, i hope that means i am maligning him unfairly. and that he is a better official than i thought.

delany is very good. mott seems to be ok. i haven't seen enough of rodney mott's games to be sure.
