    Default Non-Colts, Week #4

Okay, all I'm going to talk about is the Steelers, but here's a thread for the non-Colts commentary.

Playing against the Minnows and Ben-gals has been great for Ben's confidence - those defenses are so inept that he's looked like a veteran, not a rookie in his second start.

Carson Palmer, on the other hand, looked nervous and rattled.

If you don't have an above average OL and running game, with some sure-handed receivers, I'm not sure why you'd voluntarily play an inexperienced QB? Palmer was certainly not ready to read the zone blitz, and Dick LeBeau left him very confused by the end of the game.

If Duce Staley didn't put the ball on the ground twice, this would have been a rout. Dipper, is Duce a known fumbler? Both times, it was one hand on the ball, in traffic :.

It was fun to see Troy Pooawoohalahalawoowoomu (whatever) intercept Palmer (his college roommate) and then run over Palmer at the two yard line to get the touchdown.

The Bungles have improved a lot over the past two seasons - they won't 'sneak up' on anybody this year so I think they might be able to get to 5-11 or 6-10, with a better team than the one that played 0.500 last season.

Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

I think if the Steelers played an actual honest-to-God cupcake (the kind you can make in your kitchen), it would pose more of a challenge than any team they've played so far except the Ravens.

Hey, beating the bad teams at home is not as easy at it sounds.

There are so many cupcakes in the AFC, with expansion and salary-cap parity...

Yeah, I saw that on the highlights. Duce doesn't cough it up too often so this week was a fluke for him. I don't remember the exact number of carries for his streak with the Eagles but he went like 400 straight carries with the Eagles without a fumble. It was an impressive stat.

I hope he has a couple more fumbles left in him for November 7th though.

I never said it was the Steelers fault. To the contrary, I wish Irsay had agreed to perform the same kind of sexual service Steelers management did to get that schedule. Though it's hard to match it when the Steelers play in the worst division in football, and the Colts play in arguably the best.

The AFC? There are far more pastry-like teams in the NFC. I would much rather be an NFC team.

A win against a crappy team counts the same as a win against a good team. Not their fault. After the Colts opening gauntlet, any other four game stretch seems rather easy.
There's an NFC? Never watched it.

I don't think talking to your computer who you programmed with a female voice constitutes a "girlfriend" btown....

It doesn't matter how you win or who you win against, as long as you win.

btown, can you spell Roethlisberger's last name correctly?

And I loved the interception, Jay; it kinda makes up for that bad bite on Gannon's pump fake in week 1 when he allowed the touchdown.
