Anyone know anything about prospects? The draft is in progress and i was curious if any of you had a lot of knowledge on players that are being drafted.. I dont know any of the college or high school guys and dont know many of the farm guys either, so im kinda curious to get some feedback from you guys if you know anything about the guys we drafted and are drafting.

High school pitcher in the first round.. Hopefully he wont go to college so we didnt have to waste that pick on him.

Look what Jay Bruce has done since you criticized him in the last 2 weeks. He has batted .442 with 8 HR's & 12 RBI's in his last 12 games. He may win player of the month.

Greinke vs Reds tonight. Brew Crew is terrible on the road. Great @ home. Soo much parody this whole season. The Pirates may not even lose 90 games this season.
Ya but when he played us that time the guy looked awful i guess i inspired him lol. He has been playing like Bonds in his prime the past few weeks.

A HS kid who goes in the first round, isn't going to college. He's gonna get a cool mil just in a signing bonus.

There was a kid drafted 26th(I think) by Tampa Bay from Muncie last year, right out of HS, and his signing bonus was around that number. Way too much money to turn down to go to college.

No not all of the kids think that way I watched the whole draft the #15 prospect told teams not to draft him because he wants college. He got drafted in the 2nd round. But if he doesn't sign you get the same pick in the next draft so you can take that gamble. The Cubs took a couple risk guys like that. In the 14th round we got a 1st round talent too bad he wont sign.

However there are other kids like my friend from Lutheran who I played travel ball with in middle school. He got drafted in the 46th round last year and he was signing no matter what. It all depends on the Kid I hope all the Kids sign from the Cubs we got some good player a lot of HS guys.

But even if your 1st round pick doesn't sign you get the exact same pick next year so there is very little risk for the Reds taking that pitcher.

He was playing poorly up till the "hot stretch". Being A Reds Fan I hope Bruce & Votto can become Maur & Morneau of the NL. Minus the injuries.

The Cubs are going to have to fire Jim Henry.

I like Drew Stubbs game more than Bruce but thats just preference both are great. I think Stubbs has 30 30 potential truly an incredible talent. The Reds just need pitching and maybe another bat. The Cubs need a whole new roster.

I believe Bruce was batting .220 when i made that comment now he is batting .300 crazy!

Back to Back Jacks for Chi

Time for the bullpen to blow the game

Put the Pressure on Dempster Redlegs

Stubbs is so fast, what a catch on Pena last nite. He should be a solid leadoff hitter but he is 6'4 and may be able to bulk up later in his career. It should be a long one barring no injuries.

Cubs have beaten Mil two straight.

I am sick of writers/experts talking about MIL.
I have been going to Bush Stadium/Vicory Field for 20 years and have never seen a franchise with less than the Brewers. Expos, Reds, & Pirates included. Mil is a bunch of losers. They are in the same boat as the Lions. They SUCK!!!

I hope my words don't come back and hurt me but they won't; Chicago has a better chance of winning the division than the Brew Crew!!!!

I know they are in a win now mode w/ Fielder up as a free agent.

They will have zero problem trying to trade to win the division as well.

I just want the Card vs Reds rivalry to get going. It is greatest thing for pro baseball in Indiana. Fielder may go to your Cubs for 300 Million and then get injured next season!!!

That would be pretty good but i think the Reds-Cubs rivalry heating up would effect indiana more.. Most indiana people, from my experience, are split between who they root for between those two, being the two closest teams.

Im glad im on the Reds side. ...So i don't have to make excuses that my team is "cursed" and that we don't just suck from time to time..

we suck because our player development and farm system sucks and neglected by Jim Henry. and we spend money on over the hill free agents. I just love it that people make a generalization off the based off the media and a few drunk fans.

I hope somehow we get Billy Beane we need someone who can draft good young talent and keep them we need to bulid how the Braves have in the past 20 years IMO.

Been playing some good baseball lately. 7 out of the last 10, I believe? Gotta keep it up tonight. Leake's gotta continue his great play.

Wood's first inning last night was quite disappointing.. Other than that the pitching did really well against the Yankees.. Though the Reds offense also had a lot of problems getting going. Overall i expect a better game tonight, should be a good one!

Wood got sent down to the Minors

    Leclure got called UP

Cincinnati has the worst interleague record in MLB.

They lose tonight they are in 4th place.

The Bats arent hitting. I don't know why. Your assumptions are just as good as mine.

Stubbs leads the league in strikeouts. I see him trying to hit for power too much @ the leadoff spot. As Votto goes the Reds go but the streakiness of Phillips, Stubbs, & Bruce is not getting the job done. I would have zero problem trying to find a 'true' lead off hitter. One that gets on base & uses speed to manufacture runs!!!

CHRIS HEISEY! Give that man his bat more often.. My goodness, 3 HR in the late game against the yanks tonight. Good pitching by Cueto as well. Need to start getting things together more often like they did tonight..

Votto has got to get it together but he's def not the only one..Stubbs, Rolen, Phillips, Bruce all playing below their potential. Need better overall pitching too, tho Cueto got the job done tonight.

Anyone know how easy it is to get autographs at GABP? I'm heading back for the July 16th game against St. Louis and would like to get some stuff signed.

Just go early and some sign in BP. I got Jason Heyward autograph at the players entrance. He walked over from the hotel and signed. But during BP the only dude that signed for the Reds was Bill Bray.

Thanks. We're planning on getting there early enough for BP. I'd love to get autos from Phillips, Stubbs and Bruce, in particular

A tale of two seasons. The Reds were winning those games last year. Now they are not.

    Frustrating season.

Stubbs got moved down to the 8th spot today vs Shields

It will be interesting to see what the Reds do @ the deadline? If they are out of the race they will try to trade Rolen. I would not be suprised if they shop Cordero. It depends how far they are out.

Hell, Right now the Pirates are a C away from running away w/ the division. Cards are getting healthier Freese/Punto are back.
