Massett was traded for Ken Griffey Jr. He has had a roller coaster year. Started out terrible, was the best pitcher in the rotation for a stretch, and now back down. They got him thinking he could be a potential closer. I'll give him another season before I judge him.

Arthur Rhodes got cut in Tx and Also Jared Burton is throwing again. He is scheduled to pitch 2 innings next outing.

It has been a frustrating season. Losing 2 of 3 to a team 40 games under .500 upsets me but I didnt have the hand/eye cordination, speed, power, or throwing arm to play for them Season.

Reds are done this season. We need to trade Ramon Hernandez via waivers and call up Mesoraco to get some big league experience.

I'll be seeing Mesoraco and co. in person on the 13th. My girlfriend and I are taking a trip to Louisville to see the Riverbats take on the Indianapolis Indians. Pretty excited to see Mesoraco and Dave Sappelt in action.

I believe. I really like what these call ups are bringing. Cozart was on fire then injury. Frazier has been doing decent. D Willis is pitching well. We just need a bat in the middle of the order to get going. Votto was hitting against Houston.

I believe in our future, but this season we have fallen too far behind the suddenly scorching hot Brewers. We have too many teams to leapfrog, too many injuries, and we just aren't playing that well.

Sadly, I agree the Reds are done this year.

Just lost to the Cubs today. That about sums up the year, eh?

Sucks, a lot of wasted potential.

Sappelt looks good! That guy can swing the bat and that's just what they need. WTF happened to Jay Bruce? He is looking horrible lately. I used to love when he came to the plate.

How'd you like that 3-run shot in the 1st inning? I love Bruce-Bruce but his bat has been dead lately.

I really like Sappelt, and was looking forward to seeing him in Louisville this Saturday but the Reds obviously had other plans. If they call up Mesoraco before Saturday I'm gonna be pissed.

The Reds are my #2 team behind my local guys, the Nationals, so I am happy to see them finally meet up tonight. I'll be there tomorrow night to see Cueto, but I'm bummed the best the Nationals are going to muster against him is Ross Detwiler, who I have no confidence in as a future SP for us.

Wow i watched a little of the Reds Nats game today. It looked like there was only 200 people there. I doubt ownership will spend if fans don't come out. I honestly couldn't believe the site it looked like a team workout not a game. Yonder Alonso looks really good. I wonder if the Reds will ever trade him due to Votto. I know they moved him to the outfielder but he is best at 1B IMO.

That has to be one of the best World Series ever, and game 6 is without a doubt one of the best games ever. This is something that will haunt the Rangers and their fans forever. They were one strike away two times and couldn't seal it up. Unbelievable. Nelson Cruz should have made that catch in the 9th. A veteran big-leaguer just has to make that play. He seemed like he was afraid of the wall. I think most high school players could have caught that ball.

I was completely indifferent to who won this series. On one hand, Texas has never won a WS before and they have a likable manager with a lot of likable players. On the other, St. Louis is a classic organization with a great manager and likable vets. So I would have been happy for either team.

St. Louis continues to build on that franchise's legendary history. 11 titles with 2 in the last 6 years. Hopefully Pujols stays there. It would be a shame if he didn't play his entire career in St. Louis.

Baseball can get so boring in the middle of the summer when it drags on and on and on. But it's a very exciting sport to watch in a close World Series like this when every swing and pitch matters. This series was a lot of fun.

About as convienant as your post game 2 comment right?

No I think it is as convienant as St. Louis being the best in baseball. That is until next year. Which starts in spring...of 2012.

Mine was within 24 hrs of your post and when i happened to check the thread. so convienant on accident.

Without Tony and with the possibility of Albert leaving i don't think its looking too good for next year at the time being... The Reds have a lot of young talent coming up.. The only thing the Reds are short from the cardnals is big pitching.. We really only have one stud that can take on just about anybody.. The rest are day to day whether they are good or not.
