115 or whatever isnt good defense. But the effort was better not where it needs to be defensivly but getting better.

I think the fact they got that many points was more of a product of our turnovers than it was the fact that we weren't playing defense. The knicks got 18 points off of turnovers and 9 of those off of fast break points. If we take care of the ball we win this game handily.

Good defense shouldn't be judge by how many points you give up, but how many points you give up per possession.

Call me crazy, but even though we gave up 117 points, I didn't think the defense played THAT bad tonight. They made mistakes, but they also made plays. New York, also, was making shots.

I saw Granger and Hansbrough pass up wide open jumpers to get the ball down low. This isn't the Pacers I know

Then add in that it's a fast break team, so our turnovers and quick shots, they scored off of.

We made some plays on defense but he still needs to get better. I thought he were good at forcing TO's tonight. 14 TO for them with Billups at pg is good for us. We were very active but we made too many mistakes that should improve hopefully.

I won't even lie, I expected the Pacers to start to fall permanently from the 8th seed during the Knicks, Knicks, Celtics, Bulls stretch. They had looked really bad recently, even against some really bad teams.

The 2 Knicks victories have been a pleasant surprise. Nice to see some fight from this team, and against a playoff team at that!

This team will be the death of me, but I love it!

I think the Knicks shot under 45% so the Pacers did play decent defense.

I loved this game. If you were a 90's Pacer fan, this brought back some great memories. That last second shot reminded me of the Reggie days. As for Tyler's rebounding tonight people need to keep in mind, Hibbs grabbed 12, Feisty Foster grabbed 10 and Danny grabbed 7. The rebounding was under control and Tyler knew his hands were on fire. This game was just an awesome game to watch.

P.S. Shout out to DC! Quietest 24 points and 9 assists of his career tonight.

Amazing game. I was nervous beforehand that with Danny in the game, we'd revert to the Pacers that went on that losing streak, but he really came through tonight. He was much better with his shot selection (wasn't settling for jumpers) and played within the team concept.

Really good victory for the guys. Should instill some confidence in them.

Heh, and there I was before the game disappointed to see Danny in Warm-Ups instead of reading he was back home recovering.

    I'll shut my mouth now.

I just can't believe we beat the Knicks twice in three days, that's big for us. When you trade for Melo, you probably aren't thinking you're going to lose 4 of your first 12 games to the Cavs and Pacers.

After being pummeled by NBA bottom feeders, I don't think anyone is not at least somewhat surprised that we've beaten the Knicks twice in a row. We have to keep it up though.

Hans doesn't rebound he makes shots :P

edit: Also, someone mentioned it..but I thought PG had a really quiet but really good/defensively active game. He almost stole the ball quite a bit.
    Definitely he did.

Hell, if it only means Mike plays the backup wing instead of Rush, I can certainly live with that.

Now, if he bumps Paul back to the bench, that's an entirely different matter.

I am at a complete loss to begin to explain this Pacers team.
I think a number of us felt the same way after the first Knicks win and certainly after the second. But it's easy to see what they did differently in the two wins. They moved around more on offense. The actually changed the offensive schemes with Jeff up at the top of the key passing the ball off. They shared the ball--probably could have done better at that but it there were no--correct me if I'm wrong--shot clock violations this time out. We also won the offensive rebounding battle. Finally, we played as a team. Thing to remember is that we've gone from Jekyll to Hyde back to Jekyll again, and it's just a matter of generally wanted to stay as one incarnation rather than the other. It shouldn't be too hard to stay away from the transforming potion.

I thought Jeff and Josh played well. Josh had a nice 3 assists in his limited minutes. Jeff went on a tear like he did one other time this season. He went off for 8-9 rebounds in about 5-6 minutes of play at the end of the first and beginning of the second quarters, which really helped establish momentum. Very proud of the Goonies.

I would, however, like to see more defense of the perimeter shots especially from the starters. So many 3's!

couple things after rewatching that game

did anyone else see tyler drawing a double team at times? that is awesome and will make life so much easier for Roy if Tyler can just pass every now and then .

also someone said that Roy was on the scorer's table at the end of the game that's awesome anyone have any pictures of that?

I really hope that Vogel recognizes that the offense and MOST NOTICEABLY the Defense in the Starting lineup is MUCH better with PG and Hansbrough. Given the lack of offense with McBob and Foster in the 2nd unit....I'd hope that Dunleavy can properly fit into the 2nd unit.

I can see the ball movement much better with AJ, Dunleavy and McBob playing together.

Just like Teams have adjusted to defending Hibbert....I really hope that Hansbrough is able to adjust to the double-teaming as well. He's going to have to get used to passing the ball out while the Team has to recognize how to get into position for Hansbrough to pass to him.

At some point....when we figure out how to do it.....we're going to have 3 Players that will demand some attention on the offensive end....Granger, Hansbrough and Hibbert....I can't wait until that happens.
