Helluva win! Kudos to Danny on closing the game....not used to seeing that from him EVER!
How many Game winners has Granger actually taken in the last 3 years? I would put it around 10 to 15 at the most. Infact the year Danny was an All-Star, Jarrett Jack and TJ Ford took more Game winners than Danny. Last year, TJ Ford was taking them almost exclusively before he was benched. Jeff Foster had his infamous attempt against LA. This year I only remember the Bucks game where Dunleavy got the Tip, that was a DG shot.

Just saying its not like Danny has been taking the last shot for us exclusively, one of the reasons I hated JOB.

    I don't know...maybe ?

I guess when it comes to a Granger jumpshot......there was a 50/50 chance that his jumpshot would have made it in or not. I'm just not too confident with Granger's jumpshot at the end of games since he's not very good at creating for himself while going "one on one" against any Team.
I think what made the difference today was that Danny was guarded one on one and didn't get double and triple team like he used too because all the guys that were on the floor needed to be guarded, it was different than having Foster and Josh in a last second play.

Granted Brook Lopez is a center but he had i think those same exact numbers against the pacers earlier this year, also Paul did a great job shuttiing down billups late in the game.
Brook actually had 28 pts and an embarressing 1 rebound that game

Hah, I was going to say.. it's ok as long as it never happens again...
Just to be clear.....I'm okay with him making mental mistakes at the end of a game IF the Team plays like a Team and not like Teenagers ( as someone mentioned before ). I expect and can forgive mental mistakes ( especially after a hard fought game against a good Team when everyone is tired mentally and physically ).

What I can't forgive is the way that the Team was playing before we started to beat the Knicks 2 games ago.

Yes he was, it was always an iso play with three defenders on him leaving the non scorers in Josh and Foster open.

Man it feels so good to come out on top in a game that went down to the wire. It feels like a long time since that happened. Tyler, wow. To me it looks like the game has slowed down for him. He's not going to average 30, but 20 is seeming like a real possibiltity.
I posted this in another thread, but with Tyler scoring the way he has, really since the all-star break, Roy has really benefited. He can concentrate an doing the little things. His line tonight (15pts, 12rbs, 5ast, 3 blk) was huge in this win. With Tyler taking the front court scoring burden, Roy was fresh down the stretch, and he came up huge.
DC quietly has put together two solid efforts and reminded me why I'm excited he's wearing Blue & Gold.
PG's still looks like a rookie out there, but his steals and deflections were key tonight. Also, his post entry passing.
Oh yeah and Danny looked like he wanted to win, FINALLY!! I was shocked that the iso play actually worked to close out a game.

Can someone with a Twitter account tweet him back saying that he shouldn't have to apologize for that?

Us Pacer fans can forgive mistakes like this when the Team as a whole is playing well and not fighting amongst themselves.
You don't see someone's tweets unless you're 'following' the tweeter (the twit?), or unless someone you follow (and they follow) re-tweets it.

Yeah, when Roy goes 15 and 12, with 5 assts and 3 blks...cut him some slack, right?

    Fixed.

Danny hasn't been as clutch this season as he was in the past 2 seasons, but tonight he definitely played like he was in 2009 again.

Also around this time last year, Danny scored 44 against Utah and he tends to heat up in March as does this team so hopefully this is the start to something good.

    This season it actually matters.

Despite having 4 turnovers, I felt like this and the win in Philly were DC's best games as a Pacer.

He neared a double-double tonight and had one in Philly.

He played smart basketball tonight and was slowing down and finding players for good shots and he was also taking and making good shots.

Tyler getting only 3 rebounds didn't concern me. Roy, Jeff, and Danny were doing work on the glass tonight. Not everyone can get 10 boards.

Thats normal for Brooke. Avery Johnson was ask during the whole melo dram what he dreamed about at night he replied.

"Its not Melo I dream of having a center who can get 10 rebounds"

Not sure but I think it was on the Detroit game that went to overtime, there is few other games I just can't remember the games.

With Jim a last second play was either Danny or TJ on an iso play and he would usually have two non scorers during that play for some reason, like there was enough time for Foster or Josh to get a rebound, Vogel has been doing the same thing but at least today he had Roy and Hans in.

Brook Lopez sucks and is one of the weakest centers in the league.

He's like a younger Zydrunas Ilgauskas.

If I were the Nets, I would've traded him to get Carmelo.

Roy is currently better and has more potential.

Plus, look at Tyler's recent rebounding. He had gotten at least 5 boards in the previous 12 games, getting in double figures in three of them. A bunch of 6 and 7's mixed in there. Tyler is definitely a solid rebounder.

I think the starting PF position is Tyler's to lose at this point. I'm looking at his game log right now and he has just been NASTY recently.

I'll tell ya what the part that was the most exciting for me cause it showed maturity and learning on Roy's part. During one of the last plays of the game where Roy got the ball and instead of just freaking out and either travelling or turning the ball over somehow. He gathered himself and put up a really good shot and nailed it. I jumped up and cheered louder for that than I did for the game winner. That was most exciting part of the game for me equally as exciting as Danny sinking that fadeaway shot. You could just see the gears turning on that play and it was a thing of beauty.

How did the team all of the sudden start playing good defense like they flicked a switch or something? And why do they ever turn that switch off?

Don't worry he is editing his two pages long post to tell us why Tyler only got 3rebounds and is still a black hole .

115 or whatever isnt good defense. But the effort was better not where it needs to be defensivly but getting better.

Maybe I should have said energy. I guess that made the defense look better than what it was.
