Default What say you we bring Granger off the bench?

With Granger being out for today's game it got me thinking about if when he comes back we bring him off the bench. The way the starters have been playing over the past 10 games I don't think anyone can argue that any of them have "earned" the right to start. Granger off the bench would be a huge spark with the second unit and it may be the magical combination needed to right this ship. At this point anything is worth a try.

Good idea? Bad idea? Does anyone even care anymore?

Just trade him in the offseason. He won't care; He doesn't really care about anything except for the last three seconds of a game.

We need people who are willing to give 100%.

You can't bench him after he was anointed as our star player. You may as well trade himm.

Agree with Hicks. It would be too much of a shakeup, he's the team's captain. I think it would be best for both parties if he was traded in the summer.

He haven't been benched for a reason and that is because he makes more money than anybody.

While conventional wisdom would agree with you, perhaps it would be a perfect statement to the team if we make an example of Danny right now. If the players wanna joke around in practice and not take things seriously Bird could let all the players know that if your not giving it your all then NO ONE'S starting job is safe.

danny would implode. you can't bench him without further devaluing him. offseason move.

By the way I don't think it would ever happen because it would decrease his trade value.

Benching Granger only hurts his trade value and further fractures the locker room.

That is the only reason why I am against benching him at this point in the season.

What if he is the biggest problem in the locker room?

If we keep playing like we are today..... I feel it makes Danny expendable.

We're only playing like this because of new york's pitiful defense.

sfm - thats a really astute thought. you HAVE to wonder what Danny is thinking during and after this game himself.

if he thinks he is a prima donna, this game would serve as a serious wake up call.

this game has to be danny's worst fear realized. his team competing well with a double digit lead throughout the game. a win would just be icing on the cake.

Honestly if...IF we can win without Danny then I don't care if we get great value for him. I just want winning back in Pacer basketball.

Trade Danny; Tyler can play the 3, PG is the 2 and we get a low post PF who can complement Roy.

Why wouldn't Danny be happy about the win? He doesn't want to make the playoffs?

We have won games without Danny before. In fact, I think we have a winning record without him. It doesn't mean that I'd rather play without him. It means the rest of the team needs to bring this assertiveness on a regular basis, not just when missing their best player.

If he does, he hasn't done a very good job of acting like it.

That would be a clear sign we don't care for him anymore and he'll go out there and do nothing.

If anyone watched the Knicks broadcast tonight it was mentioned that one of the issues brought up in the player meeting was the vets expressing their intent to make the playoffs.

easy - i think danny wants the team to depend on him. if we win without him, it makes him feel expendible.

he knows that we the fan base (much of the fan base) are becoming restless and looking for answers. he doesn't want to the blame to fall on him. a game like this starts to aim that blame his way.

i know we've gone without him, and if we have a winning record without him, whereas we are losing with him - doesn't that send a pretty interesting message to you?

if we have a winning record without him, why do you want to continue to play with him? i actually think quite the opposite of you - i think it means that danny granger needs to bring it.
