I think we can finish 9-4 honestly, it was apparent that non-basketball issues played a big part in the 6 game streak, I think we have recaptured a sense of focus and purpose and will fight hard to go into the post-season strong.

If we can win tomorrow in Memphis it would be huge, this last extended road trip is critical, but some easier games are in the near future.
I'm surprised things settled down so quickly. We are now above .500 with Vogel and the schedule eases the rest of March. Whether or not we win more games is questionable, but the records of teams we face are not as good. ...so I think 9-4 is a possibility. We've already shown that this group can perform at that level given a favorable schedule.

April does appear to be a tougher stretch, but some teams start tanking so me might have a nice run the rest of the way.

If we go 7-6 to finish the season, as Shade projects, that would make us 20-18 under Vogel. That extrapolates to 43 wins over an 82-game season. That's not half bad considering we've done most of it while playing a lot of youth who still have plenty of room to grow.

I don't think there's time to "right the ship."

    Our next 4

    New York
    New York
    Boston
    Chicago

With the way this team's played, I won't even suggest that we might steal 1 against NY and catch Boston or Chicago on a bad night. We're going 0-4.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

For the third consecutive game, the Pacers beat a team they were projected to lose to, slightly increasing their cushion for the #8 seed and all but erasing the horrible losses of the week prior.

Charlotte (L) and Milwaukee (W) met their respective projections, with neither gaining nor losing a spot.

    #8 Indiana: 37-45
    #9 Charlotte: 34-48
    #10 Milwaukee: 32-50

I think that because of our tougher schedule and the Bobcats having the luck of playing both the Pacers and the Bucks at Home....they will get some key wins that will make this race much closer then you predict. On top of that, I think that Milwaukee will do slightly better then you predict as they have been far more consistent then the Pacers and the Bobcats as of late.

With our luck...my guess is that we'll be looking at:

    Pacers - 36 W / 46 L
    Bobcats - 36 W / 46 L
    Bucks - 35 W / 47 L

Since we have the tie-breaker...we'll come out ahead...but at this point......every game is important where we have to beat all the Teams we should be beating ( Non-Playoff Teams on the Road and at Home ) and hopefully pick up some wins against Teams that we should be competing against and Teams that are way better then us.
Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

Excellent night. Not only did the Pacers hold serve against Charlotte (they would have been net -2 with a loss), but Milwaukee dropped to Sacramento, dropping them down a game in the projections.

And just like that, things get a little interesting again.

The Pacers take two steps back and negate the big win over the Bulls while the Bucks take advantage of NY being in a complete free-fall.

    #9 Charlotte: 34-48
    #10 Milwaukee: 33-49

Thank God the Bulls came back to beat the Bucks, or last night would have been an epic fail rather than just a normal fail.

Still, the Bobcats have once again managed to pull even, though the Pacers hold on to the #8 spot for now by virtue of the tiebreaker. The 3-game cushion we had just four days ago has completely evaporated.

The April 1st game against Milwaukee has become an absolute must-win. No foolin'.

    #9 Charlotte: 35-47
    #10 Milwaukee: 33-49

Boston will not lose 3 in a row. We'll lose again Monday, thankfully the Bucks/Bobcats play each other, so one of them HAS to lose.

We'll either be tied with the Bobcats and up 2 on the Bucks still, or up 1 on both after the Celtics game.

Next 2 games after are Pistons, Bucks for the Pacers
    Bobcats: Cavs, @Magic
    Bucks: @Toronto, @Pacers

Instead of looking at it as an epic fail you could have considered it a normal fail + grace being happy.

Big win tonight, pushing us back to a 36-win projection and once more giving us a slight cushion over Charlotte, who held serve against the Bucks. Milwaukee now finds themselves in a must-win situation against the Pacers on the 1st.

    Might be a must win. I think it's a won't win.

    reverse psychology?

Wasn't intended but I said the same thing when I went to the Bulls games. I took my g/f who love Rose, she wore her Rose jersey I wore my Hansbrough and we sat behind 4 Bulls fans from Chicago... it was great.

The city seems confident we are heading back to the playoffs.

Looking forward to the excitement again with a packed playoff atmosphere at the Fieldhouse.

Yeah there were still your typical bandwagon fans last night like everywhere, but there seemed to be more Pacers fans at games like that during this season.

The only problem we will have is that about 60% of the crowd will be Pacers fan, and the other 40% will be Bulls fans. With that being said, we have had great success when other fans invade Conseco.

The Bucks picked up an unprojected win last night over Philly, but things still look dire for them, as they trail both the Pacers and Bobkitties by two games.

Charlotte is still hot on Indy's heels thanks to a relatively easy closing schedule.

The Pacers are only projected to nab one win in the last five games. Going a mere 2-3 the rest of the way would all but guarantee a playoff spot, thanks in part to owning the tiebreaker over both teams. The Washington game is a must-win, and the Hornets, Hawks, and Knicks have all been mired in recent slumps. Orlando may also rest some players in the regular season finale.

    #8 Indiana: 36-46
    #9 Charlotte: 36-46
    #10 Milwaukee: 34-48

    Current record: 35-42
    Projected finish: 1-4 (36-46)

    Remaining games:
    @ New Orleans - L
    vs. Washington - W
    vs. Atlanta - L
    vs. New York - L
    @ Orlando - L

    Current record: 32-43
    Projected finish: 4-3 (36-46)
    Remaining games:
    vs. Washington - W
    @ Cleveland - W
    vs. Orlando - L
    @ Miami - L
    vs. Detroit - W
    @ New Jersey - W
    vs. Atlanta - L

    Current record: 31-45
    Projected finish: 3-3 (34-48)

    Remaining games:
    @ Orlando - L
    @ Miami - L
    @ Detroit - W
    vs. Cleveland - W
    vs. Toronto - W
    @ Oklahoma City - L

I see the same projection. We have to beat Washington, and hope the Bobcats don't upset the Magic, Heat, or Hawks. They've been playing hard, so it's possible.

I agree 2 more wins, and the Pacers should be safe. I'm having a hard time seeing another should win other than the Wizards though.

We should beat new york at home... they have been abysmal on the road lately, and we match up well with them.

Orlando will also likely rest starters the final game of the season since they will be locked into the number four spot.

1-4 is a really pessimistic projection.

It also isn't as if the cats have been amazing, they have one really good win over boston, but they've also barely beat the cavs during that time and have been blown out by the magic.

They also beat the Bucks at home by a point just like the Pacers. The Bobcats don't have to be amazing, it's just their schedule is crazy easy. 4-3 isn't a stretch at all simply b/c they play some subpar teams. You could even argue that the Hawks may rest their starters the last game of the season, in the same boat as the Magic.

The Knicks may be playing for the 7th seed still. It took a Granger jumper in the final seconds to beat them at home last game. The Hawks OWN us. Hornets are trying to hold on to their playoff spot out West, and the Magic resting their starters is not a given.

I'll steal this word from another poster and say this projection isn't pessimistic, but REALISTIC

If the Pacers do not make it, our loss to the Kings at home and the Bobcats win over Boston on the road will be the reason.
