Thread: The Official Playoff Projection Thread (updated post #80)

I don't think there's time to "right the ship."

    Our next 4

    New York
    New York
    Boston
    Chicago

With the way this team's played, I won't even suggest that we might steal 1 against NY and catch Boston or Chicago on a bad night. We're going 0-4.

    Charlotte's next 4

    Toronto
    Houston
    San Antonio
    Indiana

They'll likely be 2-2 or maybe 3-1 over that stretch.

Our season is over. Thanks Danny Granger, Roy Hibbert, and most importantly Darren Collison for taking a big old steaming **** on this important stretch in the season and going into tank mode. Thanks Dahntay and Danny for making a huge deal out of nothing and most of all thanks for you worthless mother****ers who are joking around in practice. Whoever you are I hope that you aren't here next season and you don't deserve to have responsibilities like being in the NBA.

Thanks. This one is 100% on your apathetic selves. And I hope to God some of you players are reading this.

Now, how do you really feel?

If the pacers play like they did in Minneapolis, they won't win another game all year. if they play like they did in Toronto they might win a couple.

With Milwaukee's beatdown of Philly, things are looking bad for us...

    #8 Indiana: 34-48
    #9 Charlotte: 34-48
    #10 Milwaukee: 32-50

The spot is still ours to lose, but we need to right the ship RIGHT NOW.
Have any of the games gone the way they were "supposed to" since you started this thread, Shade?

FWIW when this thread first started I glanced at the Pacers and Bucks remaining games and figured they'd both go 34-48. I didn't look at the Bobcats.

Charlotte was actually projected to beat Toronto, so that doesn't change anything here.

    Finally, some progress!

Charlotte and Milwaukee did what they were projected to do, but the Pacers finally got an unexpected W.

I hope Tyler and Darren step up for the rest of the season with Roy coming back to form. That would be fantastic.

Despite the loss last night, the Pacers picked up another spot in the W column by sweeping the Knicks on the back-to-back (both were projected losses).

Charlotte and Milwaukee held ground despite going 0-3, as all three games were projected losses, anyway.

    #10 Milwaukee: 32-50

Shade, where are you getting these projections from?

It would help if I could get some context based off of whose left for all 3 Teams to play.

I'm not sure if it would help....but could you include the actual current records and how many games we are up ( or down )?

    As of Wednesday, 3/17:

    Pacers______________**** in 8th Place with 14 games left ( 6 Road / 8 Home )
    Bobcats_____________- 0.5 games behind with 15 games left ( 7 Road / 8 Home )
    Bucks_______________- 2.5 games behind with 15 games left ( 8 Road / 7 Home )

I could see us winning 4 to 6 of the remaining games to end up with a 33 to 35 record....whereas the Bobcats could IMHO win 5 to 6 games...depending on how they do against the Bucks, us and lower level Teams that are doing better ( like the Cavs and the Nets ).

Your projected finish for the Pacers assumes that we will have a 4 game winning streak. Don't think we've done that this year.

Just for the record...as bad as it's been for this team we are currently .500 with Vogel right after facing Boston and a slew of .500+ teams. Non-basketball issues probably caused a couple losses as well. I think we're in decent shape...

THEN we went on a 3 game winning streak only to get the new streak ended by Miami again ..

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

    Yes, I forgot about that.

With one more win than I expected against the Knicks and now this win against the Bulls, we have essentially re-captured two of the wins that we should have had against the crappier teams during the 6-game losing streak.

Just think of the cushion we'd have if we had won those other 3 games we should have won. However, I'm not complaining that we have the cushion against the Bobcats that we have now.

I think we can finish 9-4 honestly, it was apparent that non-basketball issues played a big part in the 6 game streak, I think we have recaptured a sense of focus and purpose and will fight hard to go into the post-season strong.

If we can win tomorrow in Memphis it would be huge, this last extended road trip is critical, but some easier games are in the near future.
